If you replaced the drive with a new one, you will now have to install windows on the new one. Here is one explaining how to make a windows install drive. ruclips.net/video/hmipXVykHUc/видео.htmlsi=2ULnaMYaKzGa0_lw The difference in yours will be that your boot key may be F8 for Asus. If f8 dosnt work for boot selection then within bios It should show a boot option. Often though , if your new drive is blank, it might auto boot into the windows install drive that you make. One more thing to keep in mind, on this laptop there is a second nvme slot on the right. Of you wanted to keep your oroginal drove as an operating system, then just install both the old drive and the new one utilizing both slots. It should auto boot into the original drive like normal. You will just have to format the new drive once in windows and set it as a data drive.
The stock M.2 and RAMs have some kind of thermal tape deposited on them. And the film is covering them. Definitely giving a sign that the film is some kind of graphite thermal dissipation sheet. Having the sheet or not... I'm not sure it makes too much difference since there must be almost no airflow in that area. You just need to make sure to use laptop on a hard flat surface and it won't change the thermal characteristics too much even without the film. I think they installed it to ensure longevity of the device.
Is it normal to see some sparks when putting the battery connector back in place? I'm trying to get it in place and push the metal part back over it, but the metal part won't go over it and it seems like the connector won't push in all the way, but keeps sparking when I get both sides kinda pushed in.
Sparks are good. But if it doesn't restart that just means the battery drained and you can connect it to your car's battery and jump it with alligator clips.
laptop charger disconnects, so I keep the charger wire upward from the pin side, in this case it keeps connected. Is there any solution for this or I have to replace the adapter? I've same model.
Good video but I worry about you not pointing out enough safety precautions to protect it when open or demonstrating them. Static discharge is a huge risk, and you don't have wrist straps, which is fine but you also didn't ground yourself with the metal plating (not connected to the motherboard, there for static protection), and for people with vinyl or carpet floors it's more than easy for them to create dangerous levels of static discharge when they go in and touch components. Even when you disconnected the battery you could've been bumping the leads on transistors, also you didn't cycle out power after disconnecting the battery. I'm not trying to be over critical even though it sounds like that, but when you're making videos to help people do things for themselves, not showing those habits could cause them to damage their laptop and something like static discharge is hard to pinpoint
Even though damage through static electricity is rare you are absolutely correct. Having good habits like that are for sure the way to go and I agree with you that it's a good idea to show that on camera. What I usually tell people is that if you do not have an way to ground yourself ( antistatic bracelet, Matt and so on. Before opening your device, touch something metal that is grounded to discharge yourself and also remove the battery to prevent electrical damage while inside. The video though is meant to be short so yes I skipp through much of that information. In 15 years and thousands of units, I'm happy to say I've never once killed any unit or component due to static electricity :) its also way more difficult to kill parts with static then people may think. That being said I do think you are correct and I will do better about showing that part of the process as well. Thank you so much for the feed back I really truly appreciate it. There are 2 slots one where the main nvme is in the video and one slot to the right side of the ram so you don't have to replace the 1 and can just add another
Yes you can upgrade the ram and ssd. 8 gb of ram is very low nowadays so it would help to at least have 16 gb so if you decided to just add a second matching 8gb stick that will also help. Ddr5 ram is still a bit expensive.
If you replaced your original drive then you need to Install your windows OS again. I want to know which type I can use as an alternative to connect the Hard disk drive. And what are the risk of using unbranded sata cable? Thanks in advance
Order the specific one for your laptop. The pin out is often different when using other brands. Even if it's an unbranded but made specifically for your laptop should be fine but don't put another model cable in since it can overload, cause a fire and so on.

If you changed the ssd, the ssd had the os on it so you will need to install a new copy of windows onto the new ssd. You can download the media creation tool from Microsoft for windows 10 or windows 11. You will just need a 16 gb USB drive to create the media onto and then boot I to that USB on the laptop which then takes you through the new os install. I can probably make a video to show the process.
@@Towdawg1 yes there should be 2 slots. In that case don't take out the original drive and just use your new ssd as a secondary storage. Should boot right back into windows that way. Hi, I have an Asus tuf gaming f15 fx506 LH - Unfortunately the CPU is the intel i5. Anyway, I ordered the Ram upgrade from Crucial using their scan tool , so I will upgrade it to a 32G ram. The scan suggested a 1 TB SSD that was the only option it offered, and I ordered it. Now I see others talking about 2 or more TB SSD's. anyhow too late for that. So when I replace the SSD , will I have to download windows 11 again? and update everything else?
Yes you will have to reinstall windows to the new ssd and re-download / update drivers if you intend of removing the one that is already in there. You could though keep the original in there and use the second nvme slot ssd for the new drive that way you have both installed and you can use your 1 tb as a data drive that way you don't have to reinstall windows on the new drive as long as your model has the 2 slots like the one I have

After upgrading the ram and ssd do I need to do anything else or will it run normally after the upgrade?
If you replaced your original drive then you need to Install your windows OS again. If you added a secondary drive and left the original drive in, then you will need to make sure your secondary drive shows up in windows. Click on files explorer, click on this pc option on the left . If your new drive shows up, then good. If not, then you will have to format it within disc management and add a drive letter.
Is it necessary to disconnect battery?
I didn't. Eeverything was fine, but it's generally best practice to disconnect the battery, THEN hit the power button to make sure all the capacitors are discharged.
Asus tuf dash f15 ram ssd upgrade will void warranty or not
Nope,
Good day sir. I would like to ask if we can upgrade the RAM to 64 gb and for the ssd to 4TB. Im not sure if we can touch nvme 😅
64 gb I can verify it works. Nvme we have done it with a 2 tb upgrade. I don't see any reason why a 4 tb wouldn't work. The laptop dose have 2 nvme slots though one on left and one in right side of the ram so you may even be able to run 2 2tb nvme in raid 0 to make 4 tb.
@@racimbio thank you sooooo much sir.
@@racimbio what if we use one 4TB in a single slot and the original 1TB nvme in the other slot?? Will it work?
@@abbasi5358 one as an OS drive and the other as Data would work but different size drives can't be raided so can't make them show as one like if you were to raid 2 2 tb
@@racimbio Is it support ssd gen 4?
Hello Racimbio
My Laptop model: Asus Tuf F15 Fx506hcb
Core i5, 8gb ram, 4gb Rtx 3050ti,48wh(so my battery isn't covering the lower right side of the battery which can house a Sata HDD or sata SSD)
SUMMARY
I want to upgrade and add a HDD but my laptop doesn't come with a generic Asus Tuf F15 sata cable.
Have you experimented with various sata cable cable, branded and offbrand like that of HP or Dell on an Asus Tuf f15 laptop with success? I want to know which type I can use as an alternative to connect the Hard disk drive. And what are the risk of using unbranded sata cable?
Thanks in advance
Order the specific one for your laptop. The pin out is often different when using other brands. Even if it's an unbranded but made specifically for your laptop should be fine but don't put another model cable in since it can overload, cause a fire and so on.
@@racimbio wow. Thanks for this info, I dodged a bullet there
can this computer avoid upgrade 16 gb ram with ddr5?
u can put 2x16gb ddr5 rams (4800mhz and above preferably). I think you can even do 2x32gb too
You forgot the other empty ssd slot on the right
exactly I hadn't seen!!!!!!!
DOES IT SUPPORT 64GB OF RAM (2X32GB) ?
32
At the end of the video u mention that it’s takes some time to boot up after installing new Ram …..how long should people expect to wait? …it’ll keep people from panicking if nothing happens
On some laptops I've seen it take up to 1 minute 30 seconds roughly. This is more common when adding high amounts like 32 gb or 64 gb.
@@racimbioi bought a patriot ddr5 4800mhz sodimm ram to make my laptop dual channel, will it work?
I dun unplug but this is my first time and I was scared to push it in like you did but I tried it and it worked lol thx. To worried I'd break something 😂
In switching out the SSD is there now OS on it now? I’m sitting in BIOS
@@racimbio Yeah my last Asus had an additional slot but not here. I have a USB SSD I guess I can copy C: drive to? Or go your route would be better.
@@Towdawg1 yes there should be 2 slots. In that case don't take out the original drive and just use your new ssd as a secondary storage. Should boot right back into windows that way. Just make sure after that your new ssd shows up in windows. If it dosnt you may need to go to disc manager and format it as a new ntfs drive
@@racimbio works great! Thanks
@@racimbio Oh, yep need to format it, it’s not showing
How Much a laptop can take when it comes to a ram size I have 8 gb rn I wanna get 16gb but if I could get higher how would I know if my laptop can hand it

Hi
I want to buy this laptop but in future i need to upgrade the ram so how did you know if the laptop support 32g ram?
@@Rock_Star815 so where I got it I look on the website I got it at Walmart and if u go down it be like Health warning and other stuff u hit that and it shows u all the stuff that’s inside your laptop and how big your ram size can fit inside your laptop
You could though keep the original in there and use the second nvme slot ssd for the new drive that way you have both installed and you can use your 1 tb as a data drive that way you don't have to reinstall windows on the new drive as long as your model has the 2 slots like the one I have
@@racimbio Cool! I hope mine has the 2 slots, thank you very much for your help. Subbed.
This labtop can use 2tb ssd or not?
@@wicharvut no. 1 tb per slot

Got to music shop and buy 1 thin and 1 thick guitar pick. Take your time, slow and steady. Follow him each step of the way.
People use guitar picks.. Like other youtubers, I upgraded my ASUS TUF A15 last year and to help opening it up.... I used a bank card around the edges. Worked pretty well!
only 1 slot of ssd storage bro?
No there is a second slot to the right of the ram module so one slot to the left of that ram module and one on e right. Sorry I didn't point it out in the video.
Can I safely mix 16 GB of RAM with 8 GB?
You can but it's not advised for thr full potential of thr laptop. Should always try to match the sticks.
@@racimbio thank you
@@racimbio Can I put ram 32 gb in one slot?🙂
@@SaunJArk that's also my question I think yes (up to 2x32gb) but I haven't found confirmation yet
could you do a video upgrading the screen? the one that I got is very basic. Thanks!
Does it support DDR4?
No, just DDR5
TYSMM
do I need a heat sink?
For the nvme not really but if you get one that already has one just make sure it's not too thick
Awesome...thnks
Didnt even mention the second ssd slot lol.
That is a pick
I can’t trust myself doing this
Why are half of you guys commenting about ssds if you know nothing about laptops or computer in general 😂😭 there’s another slot right in front of your face
Im thinking of buying this laptop soon and upgrading it... what is the purpose of the film and pros and cons of removing it? and when adding another NVME I purchased a very slim heatsink not sure it it will all fit but willing to try.
I am going to do the same. I bought the Samsung 980 pro but decided to buy the one without heat sink because of price and size worries. A friend told me to get a thermal pad so I might do that they are cheap enough on Amazon.
