I have a cat named Hardy-Gracie. She was bone with a cleft palate and a suffered an injury sometime later that fused her jaw. She has issues with her teeth - a very small jaw with adult-sized sharp teeth - which have injured her tongue, plus the teeth are decaying because food stays lodged between them. Long story short, when I see your Gracie, I think of my little gray cat and compare how much they both have gone through but are still here. I give credit for Hardy's success to my wonderful country vet who never gives up, even when the "specialist" vets wouldn't touch Hardy. And Gracie there has you, watching over her hooves and giving her the best life she can. It's professionals like you and him, inventive and caring and intelligent and compassionate, who make the difference, both in cows and cats. The world is a better place because of you.
Thank the farmer for not giving up on Gracie. It shows how much they care to go through so many treatments . She is blessed to have you helping her. Yes it is wonderful to watch you work your magic and heal these bulls and cows. Stay safe and god bless .

But ive always felt i had a little cowboy in me but i here rodeo idiots say you aint a cowboy if you cant rope and ride but ive never had that chance however im a welder and i chase the work like a cowboy. I had no idea dairy cows had such short productive lives.😕🐄 Graeme your mentioned that they are usually done by 5 yrs of age. And yet Gracie was 8 in this video. Hopefully she kept having a good life. 🐄🙏❤️
Neither did I! I think Gracie's long life is a testament to the farmer's good husbandry. When she became sick, he worked with the Vet and Graeme (especially) to make her comfortable and return her to good health. In a previous video, Graeme emphasized that, out of 300 some cattle, Gracie was the only one with true "problems". We can see the expensive investment in infrastructure at the farm, obviously these cattle are very valuable & well cared for and kindly treated. The herd is providing portions of livelihood to locals like Graeme & Craig, as well as the farm family and workers. Plus their delicious, nutritional milk! They deserve to be well treated and I am thankful for the good owners and for Graeme!
One of the farms Graeme's worked with (Tom Pemberton in specific) has one cow who was 15, had given birth to 11 calves in her lifetime. Old girl, but still healthy and having healthy babies. Tom mentioned he intentionally was breeding her so his herd would be longer lived instead of cycling through every few years.
Agree, she has endured 4 pregnancies, milking for everyday for 6 years ( bar drying off periods) and all this pain and discomfort. It would be nice if she could enjoy a retirement
I human and I wish I could get that kind of treatment for my sore and damaged feet. At least Gracie and her sisters provide us with food. Like cheese. Can't eat a cheese and thinking, is that cow still alive?
I’m always amazed by how high the pain tolerance is in cows. My horse had the tiniest of abces in her hoof and she was acting like she broke her leg and refused to put any weight on it. I can’t believe these cows are still walking with these huge abscesses or half their hoof missing.
It really makes you question the saying, 'Healthy as a horse'. Bad hay/grass? Colic can kill them. Abscess in the foot? Animal's dang near screaming. Horse takes a light hit to the ankles/hocks? Bone's cracked and the animal's lame. They are insanely delicate.
Oh, Graeme, I hope Gracie can retire to your farm. That would be a perfect ending to her saga. As you might say, "she's a poor wee thing" that after her career as a dairy cow for more than 8 years deserves a cushy retirement.
I don’t even know how I stumbled across this page but I’ve been watching for months. And I can’t tell you how much it heals my heart knowing that farmers care so much for their cows. I feel like it would be so easy to just put her down and dodge the GP costs. Gracie is obviously a lovely cow and her farmer values her enough to keep her healthy and comfortable. Thank you for what you do, GP!

At the start of the vid when she is in the crush and you're talking to the camera she looks pleased to see you, its amazing to see her so calm and relaxed. Its like she knows your going to do whatever you can to help her. Its just lovely and is a clear sign of how well they are all looked after by you and the farmer. When you started trimming that back, left foot, my heart sank! I’m so glad you have been able to help her!
Gracie is my favorite cow. I’d honestly never thought I’d care about a cow so much, but she’s lovely
How exciting, I’m never early for anything 😀 but with a 5am start for milking I should already be asleep
Same here. Midnight here.
I know this isn't exactly "main stream" content.... but I have fallen in love with these videos. The compassion is evident and infectious. I'm rooting for Gracie... she is so adorable! Keep up the good work! Blessings!
That poor baby, Gracie. I'm so glad she has a person like yourself helping her. Your dedication to the wee beasties is admirable and makes me think good things about people in general.
I love the way you care for Gracie,
Crazy question...could they scan her foot and then print a 3D shoe to give he more specific help?
With the advent of home 3D resin printing, it may actually be a feasible idea, now. A full boot would also keep the affected area cleaner, for sure.
Bless you for helping these animals and I been following you and Gracie and it pains me to see the first part of the video as I know how much you have try to help but I pray she makes a good recovery
Seriously getting overwhelmed. I'm Soo relieved. Graeme and Craig, you guys are awesome and totally rock stars!!!
I was saddened by Gracie I hope she has a very happy in retirement she has earned it thank God for earth angels like you😮
Gracie is one of the reasons I would keep waiting on updates, it has been a long journey and I even tho there has been up and downs I really appreciate all the updates you have provided on this gal. It's amazing how big of a star she has become.
Omgoodness she's walking soooo much better!!! Absolutely brilliant to see the love between you and Gracie. Beautiful old girl.
So happy to see Gracie ♥️ She is looking great! Thanks for the update! Pretty sure she loves you 💕😁
Gorgeous Gracie.
When you were cutting into that left inner claw and that cavity appeared I was shouting "nooooooo!" at the screen.
When this cow retires from milking I hope someone somewhere gives her a home to live out the rest of her days
I'm so so glad Gracie is getting better, such a beautiful cow
You should adopt Gracie once her milking career is over. Everyone loves her so you could include updates on this channel. I for one would love to see more of this sweet girl.
There’s a product you can use on horses with compromised hooves called formahoof which they use to create an artificial hoof around damaged ones. Maybe look into that and create a mold of a health hoof in her size?
I saw a video on formahoof. That's a great idea!
I think he may already use it?
I remember seeing a video about that very thing !!! I thought it was just brilliant and it made me happy the whole day after watching it... ♥️ I loved that video ...
So happy for Gracie ! Thank you and the farmer for keeping believing in her recovery.
She will make it. She has you in her corner helping her. Well done m8 great job
Such a pure soul. He cares for these animals more than most people treat each other. Thank you very much for the positivity.
A roller-coaster of emotions while you've been treating Gracie but we're with you both & routing for her recovery 🤞❤🐄

Dang, those two claw on the same foot in such a bad state felt grim. Good things seems to be going in the right direction.
Candles are lit for Gracie here in California. She's a wonderful girl and looking forward to seeing her calf when it happens. You are a fine man GP.
Great to see Gracie improving, well done guys.
