    I love how he mentioned in the beginning that his viewers are making guesses on what kind of injury there was to the claw. You know it's a good channel when you can learn something new while enjoying what you are watching. I never thought I'd be interested in repairing cow feet, but it's really very interesting! Grew up next to a cow pasture for 40 years. Just recently have new houses been built there. The cattle would escape and come into our yard every once in a while. I called animal control after one walked right next to our window, so close I think she brushed against the house. The officer asked, “How do you know it was a cow, not a bull? Uh, the big udder? Oh, m’am you know what an udder is? Well, yes, I’ve lived next to cows most of my life. Can you come get her? She’s in the street and the owner’s claiming that one isn’t his.” News flash, after animal control came and marveled that I know about udders, the owner decided she was his after all. 🙄

      I’m not sure about cleaning the lesion but sterilizing something like a toothbrush should be as simple as just letting it soak in a 70% alcohol solution.

    • @TattooedPink
      @TattooedPink 2 года назад +8

      The acid does the cleaning. Fine bristles would just hurt her more... getting deep into the lesion and possibly causing more damage and bleeding.

      I’d think a chemical/liquid wash would be more effective in cleaning than something physically abrasive

      @Natalie A, I was just thinking the same thing when he was cleaning the lesion. A toothbrush would help clean that debris from that claw. Great minds think alike. 👍🐂🐃

    These cows are in beautiful overall condition physically, nice to see farmers that care enough to keep their barns & stalls clean which really helps to keep nice shiny coats (and well- nourished) and by looking at their feet they don’t have caked on slurry either. I think every farmer would probably love to be able to afford state of the art barns but, it is these reactively smaller dairy farmers who put in the extra work and expense of good feed to show exactly how much they do care about their livestock to sacrifice the ‘elbow-grease’ and slightly ‘less profit’ to give quality of life to all of his animals day in and day out 365 days of the year ♥️
