If you have any questions, ask me in the comments below the video.
Don’t you hate it when you are browsing all the textures sites, and you still can’t find the right texture for your project?
Have you ever thought that this texture could be right across the street?
But how can you make a texture for your projects?
intro
Hey, what’s up guys, Nuno here.
In today’s video, I’ll show you how to create realistic PBR materials, with your own textures!
You just need a camera (or a smartphone), and a cloudy day! By the way, if you stay with me until the end of the video, I’ll let you know how you can get my PBR textures for free!
This is done using Materialize and Lumion rendering software for architectural visualization. It’s a great 3D render software that saves a ton of time for architects because it helps you achieve the level of detail and realism not available in any other similar software.
Lumion is fully compatible with most 3D modeling software, including Revit, SketchUp, ArchiCAD, 3ds Max, Rhino, AutoCAD, Vectorworks, and many others.

Hey Nuno,😃excellent tutorial, however I'm looking to use the materials I create in UE5. Does this mean I still have to add all maps to create a material inside of UE5..? thank you again.🤗
Bem ganhaste mais um sub, a muito que procurava um bom vídeo q explique bem como ter bom resultado para texturas
Muito obrigado! 🙌
Hi Nino. How do you apply these maps in rhino v-ray? It’s not entirely clear because they use different names for all their maps.
Hi! Why did you make the AO-Map if you didn't use it in Lumion?
Well... Tell me more on how and where to sell these pbr textures?? Any site link
thanks bro keep up
Will do. :)
Excellent video please could you make a video explaining what each of the maps do and are used for 😎
You can search each up, my favorite map of them all is the normal map the normal map is the map that kinda leads where light goes, like if a normal map is great for tiles to make it like light is interacting with it as if its a 3d tile but its a texture
What is the name of the SW you used when creating the maps?
Hello sir
Can we print 360x by making 8x4 fit prints like this plz plz
Absolutely...
Will this work for remastering textures from older games if i upscale first?
Obrigada!
Thanks for the tutorial! However, I noticed that the displacement map in Lumion does not displace the geometry in 3D like Materialize or other programs do but rather simulate the effect of that in 2D. A wall will still be a flat plane when you look at an angle. There are no protruding or receding parts. It does shift the internal textures around in 2D though. Hope Lumion will implement a fully-fledged displacement function soon!
Yes, you are right, Lumion does not use Tesselation, that's what you are looking for to have the same effect as in Materialize or other programs. Let's hope in the future they will implement this!
Great Videos.... Using images tat are 4, 6 or 8k will this increase the Lumion file size? Or can the basic colour images be saved as DDS to maintain the detail and reduce the model file size? Many thanks.... great Tutorials
The more content you add to your scene, the larger the file will be. Yes, you can add the Albedo with higher resolution than the Normal Map, if you want to save space and keep some quality to your maps.
Hey Nuno, are you working with or for MIR? I recognized one of your works from your intro - Pink House - and it looks very similar to one of their works. Just intrested. And btw awsome tutorials. I worked with Cinema and I'm shifting over towards Lumion with the help of your Videos.
That's great that you are starting to use Lumion! Welcome! :) No, I don't work for MIR, but I do like some of their works. I took inspiration on that scene to make mine. As well as an interior they have. Since I considered them to be one of the best, I try to achieve the same result using Lumion.
Hi Nuno, Great videos - I'm learning a lot from U. Why do U prefer TGA files to TIF's. Is there any reason to it ? Thank U. J
Glad you like my videos! :) Well, TIF files usually are really big.
I finally succeeded ...but the result in D5 render doesn't look at all to the one in the soft materialize.....and I didn't understand your stuff about the Alfa channel in Photoshop..maybe it has something to do with my final mess... thanks Nuno for your valuable tutorials...by the way ...D5 render is growing in a monstuous way eating all the space on my hard drive...I worked on 4 small projects and it reached 60 Go on my HDD....wow...is there any way to control it to don't grow up that fast lol...and reduce the space it taking ???
nice job
Thank you! Cheers!
gloss and reflection maps available ?
Hello Nuno..thanks a lot ...I followed all the steps..I made a nice BPR but it won"t save it...
Is there a free substitution for Photoshop?
@NunoSilva3d, the photoshop alpha channel part was so fast...I didn't understand anything
What is the name of the normal map in the material editor?
Do you have any advice on photographing a brick wall for a texture?
I took some photos of some and when it comes to tiling, it doesn’t line up since its almost impossible to get each edge to line up when taking the photo. I can get the horizontal edges to line up but the vertical ones not at all.
Vertical lines in bricks don't need to line up, just the horizontal lines
In lumion, displacement looks flat from the side.
Before watching this video , i was using materialise 🤣 , it's an epic software , by the start of the video , i was like just use materialise , and you did 🤣🤣🤣 , great content nuno as always!
Haha yeah, but you can so some great things with Mixer too, now. I'll make a new video about it, maybe.
You created ambient occlusion map. I didn't see it been used
Is there a version of materialise for Mac or a program like it for Mac?

hello I have a problem with materialize the photo thumbnails are white
We can use this texture in 3ds max also ?
Yes, sure.
