Man it's been a very long time that Barry talk to his parents for real no doppelganger, no speed force version of them just the real identical version of Nora and Henry Allen. Also Barry had about enough of Thawne everytime he managed to defeat him he always come back like he said "I'm the one thing that cannot stop".

Hottake: I love Wells' Thawne but I REALLY wish that we had OG Thawne back then, he just feels like the character itself. It's such as shame we only had him now in this season

Letscher should have played Thawne permanently after Season 1. Using Cavanagh from Earth X to Season 8 made no sense.

These episodes between them are always the best written and acted. They draw you right in every time
Makes all sense now !!! When Nora died in Barry’s arms telling him “I’m confused” , she already met adult barry so she knew him the moment he appeared.
Nah bro sorry to tell you but she never said she was confused. She said "I don't understand." And that's from Barry telling her that he's the Flash which makes sense she wouldn't understand what that mean or who he is. In Chronological order 9x10 is where Nora technically first encounter Barry and 1x23 is where she meets Barry younger self but in 1x23 it seems she doesn't recognize him as Bart who future Barry introduce himself to her as but this might be due to the fact when he looks alot different since 2023 Barry is alot older than the one she saw when dying.
@@dannynhi153 The change isn't that different. He's still recognizable. Of course, we don't know what the Original Timeline Flash did different to the S9 Flash when this scene happened.

Even when after Barry took off his mask she didn't say the line I don't understand in any of the scenes. She said "You looked just like my father." The exact same thing she said to 2023 Barry earlier that day or in the recent episode 9x10. She canonically identified 2014 Barry and 2023 Barry as 2 different people. Otherwise she would've called him Bart.

(Observe her body language) She realized her son have travelled back in time even earlier before the incident she knew smth was up “I just have this feeling...” Nora knew, the timeline didn't change for this very reason. Because its all connected.

Man to see Matt so naturally slip into the role that Tom has pretty much made his own is incredible.
Makes me wish Matt got to be Eobard more often instead of Tom, like, Tom's good but I always thought Matt was a better RF on a personal level.

@@samu2014yeah he's died like 6 times already, one more won't do anything besides give thawne the satisfaction of breaking him. In the comics Barry did finally have enough of thawne's bs and broke his neck. Didn't stick.

I have a theory as to what this is gonna lead to. Since Barry is from the future and now in the past he is now going to ensure that his younger self survives and fight Thawne back in the house back in Ep 1 Season 1 that way he can become the Flash and ensure the timeline stays the exact same way it is now and make it so Thawne cant time travel, the same way Barry cant rn. It seems ridiculous but if you think about it, it makes sense

Matt was AMAZING as the Reverse Flash. It was always great to see him. Tom and Matt were BOTH AMAZING, but they had VERY different energy, in a good way. No pun intended.
They really did play their own versions Eobard Thawne greatly. IMO, Tom Cavanagh really is best when being Harrison Wells (almost every version of Wells), and plays the Thawne character in Wells' body really good. His great at making HW an intelligent character. While Matt Letscher excels as the Reverse Flash with his way of expressing RF's different emotions in different situations, be it when he's being over confident, desperate, manipulative, going mad, genuinely breaking down, etc.. He's great at both humanizing and villainizing RF.
(I wish I could have worded this better but my vocabulary sucks arse xD TL:DR They're great!)

I thought he was back from the dead again, but it turns out this is the version that originally went back to kill Barry as a kid and ended up stuck in the past for 15 years. But it still doesn’t make any sense because the episode Tricksters showed exactly when he time traveled back to do the deed.
Of course it doesn’t make sense. 9 seasons of time travel will do that.

the timeline has changed too often. also, i think thawne will place a time hack like he did in season 5, especially with the new information he’s been given
Crisis and so many changes will fuck up the timeline. But like they said, "It's a fixed point in time."
this is the post crisis timeline, which is why barry isnt vibrating when telling season 1 barry not to save nora, or why it wasnt bearded flashpoint eobard that killed nora

I get what they are doing hete having him interact with his parents and stuff but it messes with what they already established. Season 1 finale his mom acted like she didnt know who Barry was and like it was the first time meeting him but here we see that they did meet and obviously spent time together.

Am I the only one who wishes we actually got more time of John playing Henry Allen Barry’s father? I feel like he died way too quickly and this whole time he’s just been playing Jay (and earth 90’s Barry Allen Flash or whatever earth that was) but I feel like he barely got time to just play Henry
The Speed Force becoming Barry's Mother was an awful creative idea. The writers should have never done that for it made everything too convoluted.
