What people dont realize is that the whole day older barry was talking to his mom about his life and having a kid, then the barry that he waved off later took off his mask as his mom was dying. So his mom knew that she had a grandchild and realized the barry from earlier was actually his son and all the stories he said about his parents were about her.

And S1 confrontation with his dying mother was still apart of the timeline we know today.
All this time Thawne seemed like he knew every inch of Barry’s timeline when planning how to kill Barry and that future flash specifically came here to stop him but the fact that even he didn’t know why Barry happened to be there with him that night and that Barry knew all along what was going to happen means either the timeline has been re-written substantially or that this was all pre-destined and Thawne knew about as much as we have this whole time which is nothing at all.
This is basically a revised version of Season 1 as the original 2024 flash didn't have the same suit and was from the same version of history thawne was from where he became the flash in 2020 and eddie thawne had descendants. In this version thawne's timeline doesn't even exist anymore and flash's history is wildly different.

It’s the joy that Barry knows what Thawne will do; yet Thawne doesn’t know he’s about to lose… Lose the chance to kill Barry; lose the chance to live in a Flash-free world (because it’s because of The Flash he wanted to become a speedster) & thus lose his speed & therefore HAVE to create The Flash in the first place Perfect irony… basically if I were Barry in that moment: “I Win” 😂 (because all this is the past for Barry; Thawne just allowed the concrete of Barry’s timeline to be set 😁)
We can say Barry finally accepted his mother's death. Allowing the full circle to happen with the events of this night. Now Im in peace too with my version from 8 years ago because I was expecting this moment since then
For those who are confused, our Barry (S9 Barry) isn’t the OG Barry. It’s just this fight needs to happen at one point in order to keep the timeline intact. The OG Barry no longer exists because he had a different past compared to ours, such as living with both his parents as well as gaining his powers in the year 2020 rather than 2014. This is the best freaking scene of the whole series. So glad they finally let us see this from the adult's Barry perspective and that they don't end the series without closing this circle. I've love this moment every time they have shooted it on the show but this is my favorite version definitely. I've cried like a child seen this, thank you so much for making this season as good as it's being.
When you think about it, it makes all of Thawne’s efforts to destroy Barry completely meaningless but thoroughly vindictive. He has no idea that both Flash and Reverse Flash’s existences are a tangled paradoxical loop, each one of them creating the other, neither able to destroy the other without re-writing each other’s existences. He just does whatever he can to try to ruin Barry’s life but in the end Barry eventually realizes exactly how it’s supposed to begin and end and every version of Thawne tries and tries not realizing he’s destined to fail.
You can tell sort of the repurposed footage of Flash and Reverse-Flash fighting from ep 1x17, They used VFX to put gold boots on Barry. That was so dope making this scene a full circle moment.
Im glad they just reused the footage really. That fight was perfect how it was so i would be worried if it was tweaked or messed with. God this was beautiful

When Barry just stands there for a bit after Thawne speeds off is when he realizes this truly is a fixed point and he just needs to follow through and accept what happens
This might be one of the best episodes in a long while. One of the things I love is how little hand holding it does. There isn’t a moment where Barry says to somebody “he’s going to try to kill me as a child but he’s going to kill my mother instead” nor does he say “that was the version of me that tried to stop Thawne previously, and I’m the version who told him not to“ The show writers know we’ve been watching since season one, and they know that we’ll get it.
The only shot they recreated was when Barry was raising his hand to not let his past self interfere. All the fight clips are re-used from clips in the early seasons
@@tayc9542 I know he won't die but after crisis of infinite earth I wasn't satisfied with how the flash vanishes in Crisis this is what we all have been waiting for this is what made watching the early season of the show and suffering through s5-7 worth it(i actually liked a majority of season 8)

People who talk about the Loop of Time and connect it with the beginning of the series - guys, this is NEW EARTH, a new timeline. The arch is called "NEW WORLD". Remember?) This is the same day, but IN THE NEW TIMELINE. This scene is an alternative to the one we saw in the season one. This is a time loop for Barry in a new timeline that we haven't seen in its entirety (we've only seen this timeline since season 6). Our Barry is not the same Future Barry from season 1. Our Barry was not there because he's not time travel with Thawne, our Barry talked to Thawne after what happened, which was not in season 1 (otherwise Wells-Thawne would have played a completely different game with such information). Please think a little. Captain Singh and Joe would go crazy if they saw our Barry, knowing that they already seen him in 2000. This is the same day, but IN THE NEW TIMELINE, not the Earth-1 timeline we knew before the Crisis. This is the timeline with which Blue Cobalt is directly connected and it was his doing, obviously, the appearance of Barry. As you remember from the first season, Barry and Thawne traveled together that day, and they are not chilling there for a 24 hours. Thawne was unaware of the fixed point (Nora Allen ) and could have killed Nora/Barry immediately by that logic rather than waiting for the night. But in fact, it's really funny that Joe, Singh and Henry Allen saw an adult Barry and will not attach any importance to this in the future. What's even funnier is that there could be two Future Flashes (Original Flash and S9 Flash), because at 2:44 you can see that Thawne is still running around with the Flash while our Barry stops the s1 Flash and this explains what Thawne was doing all this time while Barry stood still and waved to Barry from season one. It's the only scenario that our Barry could actually be in that very night.
I know its such a small thing but man i love how they shot the side profiles, when Barry's talking about the war between them. So so cool seeing both with their cowls on and having this intense face to face. Barry's face covered with the shadow of Thawne's darkness that has chased him his entire life from this night on, and Thawne's cowl reflecting just a bit more light, Barry's light attempting to reach out here and still Thawne's face is shadowed because Thawne cant accept that light and is too much in darkness. So so cool. For ALL the struggles this show has been at times to go through, Reverse-Flash has consistently been an awesome eternal nemesis and ive thoroughly enjoyed whenever hes on screen, regardless of which actor
I feel like not only was he finally excepting this night but he was also timing it he remembered a future flash telling him not to save his mom and all that unfolds after.
The whole series is a closed loop. These are events that have been cemented. Who started it doesn’t matter and won’t ever be known, but the loop of events will always happen in time
I haven't finished the series but I choose to believe that Thawne is still being erased from the timeline the remnants are slowly over the seasons being overtaken as the flash moves forward and the reverse flash is stuck in a prison that he made himself when he first ran back in time

Everyone wanted to see something from of flash(the one from thawnes timeline tht grew up with a mother) be the one who fought thawne tht night. They also haven't explained the portal tht opens when speedsters travel through time back in ep 1 which was clearly meant to be of og flash
@@baktalksfootie fr dude... This wasn't even top 10 for me... @@baktalksfootieNah it being season 9 Barry is better than it being the OG Barry. This is OUR Barry, the one we’ve been following for 9 years. It’s so damn cool to see season 1 Barry interact with somebody who has fought Zoom, Savitar, DeVoe, Bloodwork, Godspeed, has been to other Earths, has died multiple times, has kids, and is married to Iris, and he has no idea what kind of adventures he’s about to embark on.
The amount of joy this brings me with the story coming full circle 😊
But being in a time loop over and over... Is that felts good?
It’s the joy that Barry knows what Thawne will do; yet Thawne doesn’t know he’s about to lose…
Lose the chance to kill Barry; lose the chance to live in a Flash-free world (because it’s because of The Flash he wanted to become a speedster) & thus lose his speed & therefore HAVE to create The Flash in the first place
Perfect irony… basically if I were Barry in that moment: “I Win” 😂 (because all this is the past for Barry; Thawne just allowed the concrete of Barry’s timeline to be set 😁)
I hope we get to learn more about him in the end. But yeah, I kinda see the route the writers are taking here, I just hope he doesn’t completely vanish like the OG timeline Barry.
I mean the minute Thawne killed Nora Allen, that was the end of the "OG" Barry from Thawnes' timeline.

When we first saw this we felt it from the perspective of season 1 Barry
Now 8 years later it comes full circle and we felt it from the perspective of season 9 Barry
WOW this entire scene was amazing
it was good only if we delete seasons 5, 7 and 8, their time travel stuff doesn't make any sense anymore.
the whole main timeline has changed as the Barry from the future who saved his younger version out in season 1, the flash that saved his younger version was from a timeline where both of his parents were alive, so that makes the show even more incoherent and brings a lot of confusion, especially the obsession they have killed Nora because it's supposedly a fixed point except she's alive in the main timeline (in the one where the reverse comes), and again they added new elements and it's going to turn everything upside down, because of this flash had a conversation with reverse when he didn't get it in season 1 so the reverse in this episode has info that his version from season 1 never got, so......
They have to stop with this fixed point thing they alter time so much that looking for consistency or a no hit point is ridiculous remember they took zoom out of his timeline in season 5 so they screwed up once moreover the story and not to mention that Nora (Barry's daughter and not the mother) herself modified the past, and therefore the justification of the fixed point that we cannot alternate makes no sense 😂😂😂, bad writing that comes straight from comics, but if we remove seasons 5 7 and 8 it will be perfect and surely the best episode of the series (top 5).
I like his pause, if it were a comic book you would see the thought bubble probably saying alright let’s get this over with.
The funny thing is that it's already established that Barry became faster than Thawne, meaning he not only had the power to save his younger self, he also had the power to save his mother. But because he knows she dies tonight, he had to let it happen.

This is what I have been waiting to see since the start of season 1, all of us have. And we got it and it was incredibly amazing!
2:47 we've waited 9 years for this scene now we know that was season 9 Barry
I love how this just brings 9 seasons of The Flash full circle, I really hope they continue to do the finale of The Flash justice
Finally Its Happening After 9 years
Love the pause he does before catching up to him. He accepted what’s about to happened tonight.. he tried to stop thawne one last time.
Full Circle Moment: 3:35
1:40 - It’s a small thing to notice, but when he said “Liar” he kind of sounded like Eddie just then 😁
Can we all acknowledge how Barry gave Eobard an *eight* second head start!
Yep see Pagey out right called this entire episode man
Facts
I stopped watching him I didn't want tk be spoiled but I knew this is what we all wanted the episode to be
I feel like not only was he finally excepting this night but he was also timing it he remembered a future flash telling him not to save his mom and all that unfolds after. With years of Barry trying to change the timeline and learning about fixed points seeing him doing this made me tear up like he really has grown so much 🥹
YES IT HAPPENED!!!!!!! IVE BEEN WAITING FOR 9 YEARS!!!!!!
ITHE CIRCLE IS FINALLY CLOSED. OUR BARRY BECOMES FUTURE BARRY, AND WE SEE WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM AFTER HE SAVED HIS YOUNGER SELF!!!
Og timeline Barry was the one who vanished. Nothing can happen to our Barry
@darkshadowX I meant like Vanish Vanish to where he is gone forever
@darkshadowX I don’t think you understood what I meant. I was talking about yes our Barry vanished but it won’t be for good like the og timeline flash
We seen this scene many times in past seasons, but this was the best version of this scene. It came full circle
