The map in DD2 is the new standard for RPGs. Its so large and immersive nothing else compares.
130 hours in and I am sooooo excited to see what comes next.
    My only complaints are:
    1. the lack of end game content, because I want to keep playing, but theres nothing left to do. I want dungeons. BIG dungeons. Like BBI but 4x the size.
    2. Trickster needs some improvements. Its my absolute favorite class because of how unique it is. But so much of what it does is a gimmick and not practical.
    3. More vocations in general. Really sad Mystic Knight wasnt here, and I was really hoping Alchemist from Online would make the cut. Hopefully soon(tm).
    4. difficulty settings. the game is just wayyyy too easy. Dynamic scaling and more mob density would be great.

I can't decide if they'll wait a year and add one big expansion, or if they'll take it the Monster Hunter route and do smaller updates every few months.

They just need to disable ray tracing, that's what Star Wars Jedi: Survivor did in the seventh patch and they basically got locked 60fps after that and were even able to increase the resolution and draw distance a bit.

This game likely has some serious memory bandwidth mismanagement coupled with heavy cpu utilization. Typically (though certainly not always) resolutions scale off of the GPU independently of the CPU. This means that even if the resolution is lowered, the cpu is still preoccupied with running other tasks to render an extra frame. This can sometimes be a sign of poor optimization on the developers end. But regardless, extra concessions would need to made other than resolution (say, cpu driven physics would need to be scaled back) in order to free up the CPU’s task force. With that you potentially risk altering the fundamental mechanics of the game. I’m not defending Capcom here. But it’s not necessarily that simple

Haven't played dd2, but in dd1 you can change basic stuff like hair, beard, tattoos, hair colors etc anytime at a saloon, but near the end of the game, there's going to be a merchant that sells an item to allow you to change more detailed features like gender, face, body shape etc.
I'd wager the 2nd game is going to do something similar to that. As for optimization, yea I heard it's a bit rough, but if you can handle 30fps then I guess it's fine, maybe?

It's not overwhelmed with negative reviews, it's mixed at worst.
The microtransactions is the thing people complain the most about, not because it's predatory but because it's microtransactions on a game that sincerely had no need for.
The next thing that turns people off is the fact that the game only allows you 1 save state, if you screw up your playthrough, you can't reload from whenever you want.
My main concerns though, are none of that.
The game doesn't offer a very deep and engaging plot, the gameplay is exactly the same as the first one, skills and everything, it barely tried to do anything new. While it's not necessarily a bad thing, the potential to be something better 10 year later was there, it's easy to see and hard to ignore.

DD2 has a ton of world logic, NPC/monsters AI behavior, physics interaction NPCs with surroundings and game mechanics under the hood, and this all works not only in front of the player's eyes, but also in a large radius around, it is CPU heavy for calculating. So anyone who thinks that the game is eating up more PC power than it should - think about whether this is true.
P.S. In my opinion, this can be slightly optimized by transferring part of the logic calculations from the CPU to the video card, but I don’t know how difficult it is to do this.

It released in a much ,much , MUCH better State as every BugTester OpenWorldActionRPG .By the way becouse you play DragonsDogma 1 on your Switch..DragonsDogma 1 was also not perfeckt polished 😮But Capcom also dont need so much Time to patch and Fix somthing like the Hyped King of OpenWorldActionRPGs BugTester 😂...and Nintendo dont birng a Switch 2😂😂😂Over 30 Years Nintendo Konsoles released ..like NES/ SuperNintendo/ N64/ GameCube/ Wii/ Wii U/ Switch ...GameBoy /VirtualBoy GameBoyAdvanced/ Nintenso DS/3DS/ Switch....Bro screw that " Swich 2"! ...Patents show more a 3DS looking One where you can pop of the second Screen..and i read somthing about Nintendo "Attach" or somthing like that😅Nintendo dont do a Switch 2 ..thats more the Sony PlayStation Style.. 1/2/3/4/5 /6 ..not Nintendos...you Luigis , Marios, Links ..Samuses should know that 😂Those Switch2 Infos are BullShit becouse Nintendo dont name Konsoles like Sony 😂😂😂

I'm loving everything about Dragon's Dogma 2 over the original, however I much prefer how running and movement felt in the original game. In DD2 the characters feel heavier and sluggish. They don't jump as far, and take much more falling damage from any little bump. I get that this is for realism and balancing, but I don't like it. Movement was much more enjoyable in the original game.

RIP DD1 armor system, if only they expanded it in the 2nd game instead of turning it into a basic armor system like in every other rpg 😞

DLC? Bro they should have had the common sense to add that in the game already, they didn’t improve on anything from the first game. All I’ve seen is the arisen get needed along with other downgrades.

Wtf is wrong with the people saying that this looks exactly as the first one or like a 2010 game... Were you even alive in 2010??
Been playing the PC version at 1440p ultra settings and it looks stunning

    • @acidreighn
      @acidreighn 2 месяца назад

yeh, maybe he should have compared it to th actual 2010 game and not the re-release for PC (60fps is only on PC, you barely got 30 in OG release) So are resolutions above 720p afaik, well 1080 on modern consoles.

my biggest worry is performance, I am gonna try giving my r5 3600 a last shot, but luckily my new r5 5600x is on the way, which hopefully will hold it better... still, I never thought the sequel would be so demanding cpu wise
