This game has a combination of some of the most CRAZY details and well though out mechanics (like the cyclops having a unique animation of forming a bridge if losing its balance right at the edge of a destroyed bridge, or the Beastren occasionally "shaking off" their fur like a dog when wet.), but also some of the most immersion-breaking weirdness like being able to just pick anyone up and carry them away without consequence, being able to easily soft-lock yourself out of completing some horribly designed quests, and everyone in a town spontaneously reviving after a few days when the pawn AIDS takes full effect. Yet, I still can't stop playing.
If you prime a powder bomb and activate it right after a concussive leap you go WAAAY farther. Combine with skull splitter and you can SOAR. for reference, you can clear the broken stone bridge west of Vernworth easily like this.
With the Mystic Spearhand's flying thrust attack, you actually can use it to go up those sliding slopes you see throughout the map and make shortcuts through flying around. Especially when it's fully upgraded as it has extended distance. It can't gain altitude though as the thief has better moveset to do so. But it makes for interesting shortcuts up slippery slopes that doesn't seem to have any other entrances up. I got that scarlet underwear thing by doing this.

@@Chocomunchie yeah, I never did it personally, but a buddy told me about it and said I should share if I find someone curious. When the griffins fly away, do they take you to their nests?
I'm not entirely sure on the EXACT mechanics of it, as I've only managed to pull it off a couple of times, but I'm sure someone more willing to test it could figure it out, but... You can do a super speed levitate sorta like the jetpack boost in no man's sky by jumping into a levitate while accelerating at a high enough speed, such as when first starting to sprint. It's not only probably one of the fastest means of transportation other than fast traveling, but it also goes like 10x farther than a normal levitate, allowing you to reach some pretty ridiculous places. Figuring this out is 100% going to be a huge part of speedrunning the game, and can totally allow for some crazy sequence breaking.
One thing you can do (that I just learned today) that makes me feel a lot better about Dragonsplague, is just wait. If you get hit by Dragonsplague, it doesn't brick your game permanently. You can wait it out, for the most part. Once the population is razed, just sit on a bench for 4 or 5 days and all the critical or essential NPC's will revive on their own. There'll be some non-essentials who won't revive automatically. The other cool thing you can do is start farming Wakestone shards NOW by hiring level 2 pawns with the "Travel for a day" quest, travel with them for a day and get the shard, then dismiss them and hire another, and you'll be loaded with Wakestones in short order.

What Itsuno and his team have achieved in terms of physics, mechanics and A.I(pawns) in this game is nothing short of remarkable. I know the complaints are fair but i think we could/should be a bit more patient and forgiving with this one It's games like this that actually push the medium forward.
Another tip, if you're gunning in Archer class, invest in explosive arrows heavily, they do most damage to enemies, as they're dirt cheap to buy in mass, as each exploding arrow costs 50 g. Magical archer is even better, based on what I heard about that class, so I'll eventually go to that dungeon to unlock that class. And one more tip left: When you find your first seeker's token, REMEMBER where its location is at, because that is where you will need to get "Finder's Token" for first quest given by Sphinx. I should have listened to this tip long time ago, now I can't remember where first seeker's token was found, as I suspect I did find one near borderwatch.
In the first game skull splitter negate fall damage if you execute it in the edge of cliff without jumping first. I wonder if it still work in this game.
There likely won’t be more save slots, this was how the 1st game worked, that’s just how Dragon’s Dogma does things, but they are apparently putting out a patch to make starting a new game easier. What I would usually do back when PSN was completely free was make another profile on my system to make another saved game, not sure if that’s as easy now though.
Never forget that some people right now are sleeping on this masterpiece of a game because there is a mtx of 2 dollars that isn't necessary to fully enjoy or complete the game in any way
That’s kinds crazy how those guard’s probably just stand there for the whole game, but if you carry them over to a fight they are actually programmed to start fighting
Here is something you didn’t know the game is great despite all the morons online trying to fight against it. You don’t need to buy any micro transactions. You can find everything they sell in game. There are no frame rate issues for me (on series x) So far 30 hours in. Don’t listen to the people online. Go try it for yourself. It’s awesome. I’m playing on series x and have had no issues.
Brother, don't worry about it... 'The Rightful Rulers' of Vermund are having the time of their lives on it, since when do Kings and Queens worry about what peasants think? 😂😂
In regards to the first tip, you can also do this with follower NPC's. Sometimes you'll get a request to take an NPC somewhere, for instance Ulrika will occasionally show up at your house in Vermund and ask you to escort her to Harve. If there's a time limit to those, I have yet to hit it. She's currently travelling with my party through Battahl.
Yes very easily it’s like 500 rc which you get pretty quickly. Not excusing the microtransactions as they are very predatory for the uninformed and just there for a quick buck. I love the game just hate who ever thought that was gonna be a good idea I don’t think the money they were gonna make is worth the bad press.

I think dd1 had much more interesting mechanics, but this is very smooth and I love it. I just feel a little annoyed that I can’t use my favourite vocations and spells from dd1. The lightning whip was so COOL!!!!!
For deathly arrow's timing, I look at the arisen's elbow that's holding the arrow. When the arisen releases the arrow, his elbow moves backwards slightly and I release the fire button. It takes a bit of practice and usually I can see the elbow move on the corner of my eye so I can focus on aiming.
For the archer's Deathly arrow bonus instead of counting, just look at the drawing arm. The Arisen pulls it back, stops for a moment and pulls it further. I have been able to consistently get the timing down due to this, it is much easier than counting. I was probably able to take down cyclops and minotaurs earlier than normal due to this, as I could keep staggering and knock them down. My first encounter with a minotaur straight up killed me as soon as it appeared, but even though it seemed out of my league I still used a wakestone and tried to beat it, due to my confidence in the skill. Lo and behold, I actually managed to kill it.
Fun fact: you can also use masterful kill in mid air after the leap skill similar to splitter and since it's animation is short, you might be able to grab a cluff edge (easier to aim too). Downside is it doesn't give you as much distance.

Hell, I showed it to my wife, and she's still laughing! Anyway, great video, and thanks a lot. They've truly helped me out.
Short and informative, all videos should be like this.
0:16 also the adventurer/ imposter arisen parties if you take the person the other 3 are following they will follow you since you have that leader. Therefore you can bring a party of 4 to back you up
My pawn is Reacher 😂 so if you need a level 20 (so far) fighter keep an eye of for the 300lb beast haha
can’t pick him up. too heavy

You means Jack Reacher (Amazon Video)?
What’s his pawn number?

I wanted to see the pawn aids happen in my game but somehow my pawn got cured on its own. I was disappointed.
If you prime a powder bomb and activate it right after a concussive leap you go WAAAY farther. Combine with skull splitter and you can SOAR. for reference, you can clear the broken stone bridge west of Vernworth easily like this.
no obnoxious intro, just straight into video. thank you so much! :D
The game gets better and better!

This video was so fun to watch and so many things I didn't know about it was all super cool! thank you
I laughed so hard at some of these!
Amazing stuff, thanks for sharing!
These are probably the best useful tips I’ve seen online so far thanks!
I've comboed it with the teleport to cross a huge gap and pounce on an unsuspecting goblin xD
5:29 "excuse me ser, have you any business entailing apothecary work".
Arisen: "yes, cary"
1) The mechanics in this game are CRAZY good!
2) How on earth do you figure this all out?!
Great video!
I love this channel so much dude! Alex, please make more videos. Whether its DD2 or any other game, I *need* new Boomstick uploads every day in my life 😍
The skull splitter clip at the end, insane 😂😂 that poor troll had no chance
Hot damn, I was planning on leaving the Warfarer for last after I leveled the other vocations, so glad I saw this video, gonna save me so much time leveling to just get him first.
ive been useing warfarer and its not levling up other vocations so be wary maybe this got patch or something
@@nitros1ty544 I bet it goes very slowly, since that doesn’t seem like a bug. Not sure though.
@@nitros1ty544 Warfarer got to rank 3 but others still at rank 1
I think it levels very slowly without the exp buff
@@nitros1ty544 there is another video that explains warfarer but essentially if you acquire 100 dcp warfarer get 50 percent and and the rest is split between all the other vocations even if it has already been maxed
Some context to this for anyone who doesn't know yet but the exp gain for other vocations is minuscule. My pawn mastered 3 vocations in the time it took to level all my vocations at 5
usually this kind of video is so dull... but not this time.... I'm impressed, thank you
Apparently, if you find the sphinx and answer their five questions, you can grab them as they fly to their next spot and they'll take you with them.
I did that. You can stand at the nape of the neck and not fall off or use up stamina. Although be sure to hold on when it goes into a cave system briefly, as it jerks around a bit.
@@Chocomunchie yeah, I never did it personally, but a buddy told me about it and said I should share if I find someone curious. When the griffins fly away, do they take you to their nests?
There's multiple sphinxes?
Some of these are actually insane haha. Thanks for this!
Whaaaaat!!?? Some of these never crossed my mind! Very informing and gameplay changing! Thanks!
My man dropped a Larry David bit into the video. I’m down. Lol
3:22 this one works if you knock them off balance and pull their leg next to like say one of those broken stone bridges that are naturally broken.
How do I expand the dragonforge's inventory and have those bonus option like in the video? I got to him super early.
I also really want to know this I’m in the same situation
Also stuck on this. Let me know if you found it out
You get it unlocked when you start new game +, just tested it.
@@HappyKatze damn that sucks. Guess I'll have to wait. Don't want to rush the first playthrough
The other cool thing you can do is start farming Wakestone shards NOW by hiring level 2 pawns with the "Travel for a day" quest, travel with them for a day and get the shard, then dismiss them and hire another, and you'll be loaded with Wakestones in short order.
pretty cool and wild info thanks!
My pawn "Talath" knows Elvish should you need it.
I just met a pawn who wouldn't shut up about her Elvish, might be her. LOL
As far as im aware, if you want people to get your Pawn.
You need to post the Pawn ID.
I love this game even more after high fiveing a pawn.
There's some jank, but embrace it and let the chaos warm you (before throwing it at a troll)
The unmaking arrow is absolutely nuts
if you find the Sphinx and do that questline, you get one as a reward for solving a puzzle.
@@scottantkowiak6043 trying man, just can’t remember the first token I found. Been going through locations in the starting areas, found a lot I missed as for the first, nothing.

I found the dragonforged npc but he was only selling a few items and no skill or vacation improvement. Are those tied to a quest or something?

Public Service Announcement watch out for Dragons Plague on your pawns and do not wait it out it can ruin your entire playthrough the consequences are far worse than you’d expect.
False. NPC's respawn after a week of in-game time and even then you can use Wakestones to revive who you want immediately. Stop the fearmongering

When does the dragonforged provide those benefits? When I went to him he only sold me a few inventory items.
Forgot about this game. Is it reviewing well?
lol.
On steam it’s mostly negative mainly due to bad performances and a lot of people were unhappy that the game has micro transactions
It seems to be a decent game, and people are enjoying it. However, theres problems with performance, and people are upset at microtransactions
Gameplay is damn good. Micro transactions ruined it tho
I'm sure this is a game of the day if people can actually play it.
how do you unlock he blessing section with the dragon forge? i have come to him but can only buy a couple things and enhance gear. would appreciate the help :)
Its in new game plus
What an amazing game
Most immersive game ever created. Game of the year without a doubt. I can't wait till i wake up and carry someone into battle, love it!!!!!!!!
What Itsuno and his team have achieved in terms of physics, mechanics and A.I(pawns) in this game is nothing short of remarkable.
I know the complaints are fair but i think we could/should be a bit more patient and forgiving with this one
It's games like this that actually push the medium forward.
so many bots...
@@geert574Bot yourself, clown.
this game is the definitive Action RPG!
Magic archer is crazy, trust me lol
In the first game skull splitter negate fall damage if you execute it in the edge of cliff without jumping first. I wonder if it still work in this game.
It does
finally a list about stuff I actually didn't know about. great video
Cool now how you improve performance and add more save slots?
There likely won’t be more save slots, this was how the 1st game worked, that’s just how Dragon’s Dogma does things, but they are apparently putting out a patch to make starting a new game easier.
What I would usually do back when PSN was completely free was make another profile on my system to make another saved game, not sure if that’s as easy now though.
Woah, this was very imformative. Except 2 things I didn't know you can do these stuff. Very nice!
Never forget that some people right now are sleeping on this masterpiece of a game because there is a mtx of 2 dollars that isn't necessary to fully enjoy or complete the game in any way
Micro transactions won't stop until people vote with their wallet. Good for them.
But can you edit your character without spending money?
Yes very easily it’s like 500 rc which you get pretty quickly. Not excusing the microtransactions as they are very predatory for the uninformed and just there for a quick buck. I love the game just hate who ever thought that was gonna be a good idea I don’t think the money they were gonna make is worth the bad press.
very easily yes. None of the micro transactions are things that are difficult in any way to get in game.
If you pilfer a Dragon, you can get more WyrmCrystals from it. I got 20 last time just from pilfering. On top of the Crystals you get from its death, you can bump it up to 30+ Crystals per
Before I watch this video lemme say your control setup from the last video has made being an archer a joy to plya 🙏🏾
Great vid! Most of these tips were new to me!
Similar to the Thief Extra Jumps you mentioned, you can also use the Mystic Spearhand's "Dragoun Stabbe" to get across gaps, I use it all the time.
if you want to use the arrow of unmaking say against the sphinx make sure to rest at an Inn or owned home as you then get a hard save point that you can revert to
03:51 For some reason I dont have the two last options: Improve vocation and skill. Anyone else having this issue too? Any fix?
Yeah, because its a NG+ Feature.
No clue why he didn't say it.
It's stupid to Showcase the Dragonforged, then just casual let out the Detail about the Weapons, Armor and ofc the cool new feature he only has in NG+
I haven't seen this comment yet, but the Griffin will take you to its nest if you ride it all the way. The nest will have loot. I have received a portcrystal at a nest. Thought I'd mention this as you say, 'to wherever' in two of your videos so far. Great information!
I love this game and these tips just made me love it even more.
If you have the magic archer revive ability you can throw a pawn down a cliff. rez them with the rez shot and then jump down onto their head.
Starts video thinking might learn one or two things… ends wondering if I was even playing the same game! lol, nice tips, thanks!
Fun fact: you can also use masterful kill in mid air after the leap skill similar to splitter and since it's animation is short, you might be able to grab a cluff edge (easier to aim too). Downside is it doesn't give you as much distance.
Thief mobility is crazy!
Okay, the ability to just pick someone up and carry them into battle is hilarious to me😂
