    I've been doing a lot of research to figure out what kind of cameras will complement my property. We have some weird stuff going on like a detached garage in the back of the house in the driveway that goes along the side of the house so there are a lot of considerations for viewing angles, zoom, tracking, etc. Along the way I decided I am interested in a real link set up, but they have so many cameras. You have reviewed every single camera that I am considering and I appreciate the depth and breadth of your reviews.

    I purchased the Reolink RLC-823S1. I have chosen it over the TrackMix, because of the 823's sturdy build, the bell-housing is full metal, not plastic as with TrackMix. Also the PTZ motors are of different quality than the TrackMix. The PTZ is very fast, I think there has been made many improvements over the 823A.
    I specifically use my camera to keep track of my dogs at night and during the day, so basically as sentry-function. Really love the camera.

    Nice review! The 823A wins hands down regarding image quality, especially at night. This is explaining why it has twice the price of the Trackmix.
    However, it is indeed quite loud, but that is no dealbreaker for me. I have just ordered it.

    Another excellent review in which you put your educated finger on the main pros and cons of each camera. I don't own the TrackMix and never will if the night vision isn't improved somehow.. I do own the 823A and while it's a great image, the autofocus is a joke, sometimes taking 30 seconds. The left/right oscillations should be improved with the latest beta but tracking is still erratic, especially close to the camera. Neither camera is ready for prime time yet imho.

      @kayberry6292 6 месяцев назад

      @@ibsn87 - I haven't tried the 16x but the 823A is Reolink's best camera for me, now that the autofocus issue seems to be fixed. It isn't great at night either but the white light spotlight helps considerably. And it has been very robust for me - impervious to rain and still functioning as intended after three years solid workout. I haven't even had to change the SDcard which stores approx two weeks of motion events before overwriting.

Currently can’t return to Patrol mode, and will return to monitoring point (if set), or some random spot if not set. Is this going to be a feature or is there a way to work around this limitation? Thanks for the detailed video. I was reviewing cameras just before I saw your video and one purchase review that talked about adding newer cameras (4k) to a (2K) recorder. Their main complaint was about functions that didn't work. Maybe that was due to using a 4k camera with a 2k NVR.

    I was super excited to setup a new Trackmix poe after watching this video. Good info. Update - have been tweaking my new Trackmix POE for almost a week. Lots of emails to support. First - If you have any bushes or trees that sway in the breeze - bingo your motion is triggered. I have to "erase" tracking on most of my front yard due to too many moving bushes. After moving the cam to track just my walkway, the person tracking started working. Yea. Then setting the horizontal panning for tracking - NO JOY. the camera focuses in on someone walking up the walk, but will not pan as they ascend the stairs and approach the front door - all of this is included in the horizontal capture. So frustrated - ready to spend the extra cash for a true PTZ. Curious if other folks are having this issue. Support has been pretty quick to respond and followup, but still not working yet

    • @LifeHackster
      @LifeHackster  5 месяцев назад

      As to the bushes or irrelevant motion, uncheck the "all motion" on the detection setting and also on the notifications. You might need to increase the person detection sensitivity for the camera to continue to track.

      @@LifeHackster Thanks for the reply - Yes I have person @ 100 % detection and I'm getting the blue outline tracking me with digital zoom. Then it just stops when I hit the left side of the FOV. It never pans left or right to the max horizontal settings. I also have the "all motion" off. Waiting on REOLINK support for more ideas!!

      @@RogerCoville Known problem and easy to solve. We have 3x the RLC-523WA and recently 2x the TrackMix WiFi. Adjust the minimum and maximum size for people and vehicles. Let a person stand in the field to be monitored and take the complete circumference as a minimum. Then make a circumference well outside this person and this will be the maximum circumference. For cars, if applicable, the same procedure. Good luck and would you like to let us know in a response whether this has solved it? Thanks in advance Roger.
      Postscript: Due to the disappointing quality of the TrackMix, we are going to use the one for indoors and they will replace the now outdated Reolink C2 Pros. Of the 2 C2 Pros, infrared from 1 camera no longer worked within 1 year and because the TrackMix is not too big, this is fine. Perhaps the quality is also much better for indoor (company) use.
      By the way, we should expect more software updates from Reolink. Not only for bugs, but also improvements, such as temporarily deactivating a user and so on. Fortunately, we can set up much more via the Synology NAS machines. However, we did have to buy extra licenses, but these are not too expensive at €50 per camera and the software of Surveillance Station 9 is unprecedentedly the best in our opinion.

The sad thing is the V2 has a great zoom capability (although rather slow to focus), I could manually zoom good enough to read the plate number off of a fire engine 450 feet away from my camera when they repainted the fire hydrants a few weeks ago. Hello, I really enjoy watching your videos because you explain things very well. I bought several cameras from Reolink and after this video also the track mix. Now I have questions about the 823 and the track mix that Reolink didn't answer: what are your autotracking settings and how does it work with the dual lens? I have a system with Reolink NVR and all cameras are PoE. Can you help me? Thanks in advance and greetings

      if infrared lights is on for night vision, it will reflect off the glass and see a glare. during the day you will be fine. some cameras have options to turn off infrared lights

    hello, I am a faithful follower of this channel that is really special and everything I have about security in my home is thanks to this channel, but I have a big question and I need help, really which camera is better for the front of my home where there are constant movement, I have an RLC 523 5MP I bought a 4K NVR and I am renewing the cameras to 4K and I have great doubts about which one to decide between RLC823A and the Mix.
