I remember reading the story with Joe's wake, and how Spider-man sometimes treated him when he needed information, so this story, not just that Spider-man cares about everyone, but that Joe was remembered and treated with dignity and compassion, is beautiful.
Spider-Man: Black Suit & Blood is exactly what you said. It reminds me why Spider-Man is my favorite superhero of all time. Reading modern ASM has made it hard to remember, but this new book as well as stellar adaptations like Spectacular Spider-Man remind me why in my opinion, Spider-Man is the greatest superhero of all time. He is the Friendly Neighborhood Amazing, Spectacular, and Sensational Spider-Man; and despite there being a plethora of Spidey variants out there, none of them can ever reach the same heights Peter Parker has reached.
Exactly man, theres no one quite like Peter Parker, hes the hero in all of us and we really need more issues like this one here, I dont think asm has had a single story like black suit and blood and its just so sad because these will always be the best kind for me, the ones that really demonstrate why he's our friendly neighbourhood spider-man!
Honestly that sliver of the symbionts dying bc Peter “can’t ever go back” does feel a tiny bit cheapened by the first issue of Venom War, but at the same time it’s probably bc a LOT has happened since then and Peters got to see Venom develop into a hero
Honestly it was cool that Pete just pretended to get knocked out so that he could just gloat embarrass all the crimales in a second just to show the boss how dumb he was for actually thinking he could take down spider-man and then he let Joe take out the boss it’s hilarious and such a spider-man thing JM still got it
JM Dematteis has thankfully helped a lot with keeping spidey how hes supposed to, by showing the real humanity of the character, like you said that story was spider-man through and through and his shadow of the green goblin story is pretty good as well!

I love that Peter said that venom wasn’t wrong about what he said about the power and authority all that and because of the venom war comic you could say it now all comes back full circle in a way for both of these two, the symbiote and Peter. It all gives off jungian psychology vibes. And if you don’t know what that is then I highly recommend looking it up and everything it teaches.

God I really loved these two stories. JMS and JMD are really the best writers Spidey has ever gotten and it really isn't even close in my opinion. Great video and I loved your added commentary. Then there's the potential upcoming "USM" woke direction with the Black Felicia Hardy. Again your coverage of this comic was great, but is this the future of Spider-Man? I understand the frustration with the lack of quality stories when it comes to stuff set in the present! I probably should've mentioned that this book is mostly a celebration for the black suits 40th anniversary in comics which is why they went back in time once again, but still I understand the displeasure in that aspect of the book! after reading youre comment you've opened a different view point in which I did not previously have from being so star struck at the roster of writers and the stories within the book! I personally enjoyed the stories for what they are and it felt like a break from the asm pain we've been dealt with but its a shame thats what it is, just a break because now were right back to reality :/ at least the stories we're good and interesting! im glad you still enjoyed the video with all considered and man I can't believe the recent growth on the channel! we're even closer now!!

I miss Peter and MJ's marriage now all Marvel wants to do is cuck Spider-Man. That's why I despise them. They treat my favorite superhero like trash. DC has done the same with Batman in recent years. It's like Marvel and DC get off on making Batman and Spider-Man suffer.
