By far the most helpful review on the Cupra I've seen. I saved the video for when I'm out there inspecting cars.
Another great and informative video as always mate.
Another very informative review 👏 A m8 has just picked up a 3 door 67 plate R300 - Really nice looking motor 👌 I didn't know they done a 310bhp version. Nice.
Utterly brilliant and useful videos.
Cheers guys much appreciated.
Great vid, i'm going to collect a 300 dsg 4d today Cupra lux. All information you shared super useful. Please can I ask, Is there anyway to rest the DCC changes between settings as it should. Cupra vs Comfort, etc. Is it as noticeable as in a TypeR FK8 etc and can simply feel it or is there a better way to check?? The car has a cold air intake (revo) and a scorpion cat back res exhaust. No further mods according to seller who get fantastic reviews and do sell performance cars. I just want check the DCC has not been overridden by changes to suspension. They assure no remaps, drives as standard Cupra in this regard.
Hello, I confirm with the water pump, in 9 years I changed 2 water pumps, the car is a Seat Leon Fr 1.8 180hp from 2014
great video, unfortunately my 1.6 ford focus Eco boost has been recently written off. So I'm now looking at buying a seat Leon cupra 290 or 300. I can see in the video you have manual. what would you recommend manual or dsg. ive heard a lot about the clutches not being the best. And I do dabble in the old open a can off beans when I visit a b road
If its a pre facelift watch out for water in the rear lights and condensation in the led front lights.
Is it recommended to get an upgraded clutch for a manual car whether it’s stock or stage 1/2?
I’ve heard a lot of people say the manual better off with a Sachs organic clutch for stock and stage 1
Can someone please help me. I've got a 2015 Seat Leon Cupra 280 ST with 54,000 miles. Had it for over 4 years and looked after it really well. December I got a new car so my Seat has been stood about. I went to go clean it to get it ready to sell it and now there is a banging noise coming from underneath somewhere. It sounds like a metal on metal banging noise when driving over bumps rough roads etc. It almost sounds like a spanner banging about. Checked for anything loose and I cant see anything. The exhaust heat shield is OK too. Thanks
i have been looking for these for a while, from watching definitely 2015 onwards. my budget is around 13k which isn't many on offer 1 is out the question being 'cat s' so leaves 3 one is at 11k and one being 13k on the dot with orange accents, not sure how to feel about either some advice would be great :)
Week ago i bought cupra st 2015, from company that specialized in chip tuning. They put up some hp on it, now it have 333 hp and 460 torque. It is pull nice ^^
Looking at a disco 4 any advice? A video on one would greatly help aunt many on here
Just sold my peugeot 308 gti 18plate with 22k on the clock and bought a 18plate seat leon cupra 300 with 40k on the clock and iam happy 🤟🏻
Just a mention from someone that still has their manual 42,000 mileage FWD 65 cupra 280 - also mapped to 360 bhp. You need to get an engine mount done to stop the wheel hop, if you like to give it beans. I have also had problems with the display screen inside the car not responding in cold weather, I've also had problems with the rocker cover gaskett seals and other various seals breaking.. other than that I'd buy another in a heart beat.
As you seen it still gets wheel hop even with the engine mount and a strut brace and running ps4s's
@@m17dve haha yep, the engine mount helped massively on mine though, i'd say a 90% reduction in wheel hop it does still occasionally do it... but half the time the road im on is just shit haha
Cracking video sir
Thanks!
I literally took the silica pack out the coolant as soon as I heard its known to burst never had an issue.
How many mpg can I do in a daily driving? Is it a good daily car?
Great video and very helpful as I’m looking at these right now. Out of interest, what is the suspension set up on this car? It sits perfect.
Thanks! Its on 40mm rear and 30mm front springs along with 12mm spacers. Must agree it sits perfectly.
@@ScottishCarClan ground clearance?
@@ScottishCarClan I want wheel spacers, but I have upgraded Brembo brakes in the front. Any recommendations?
Loved thes vedeo.
The clutch pressure plates cannot take more that the standard BHP, if you remap, you will need a high performance clutch. I reverted mine to stock power 50k ago, and the factory clutch is still going strong. Love my Cupra, got it new in 2015 and now done 92k. I had the water pump done around 70k
Rear wipers on my 2020 cupra were trash, bought the car brand new with 18 miles on it and they were plagued by that skipping issue, i put a set of bosche wipers on front and rear and it's spot on and has been for the last 13k miles
Think the Bosch ones are the way to go 👍
I’m looking to possibly remap my cupra, did this one have the upgraded clutch?
It sure did Connor. A good idea to budget along with your remap.
Waterpump/thermostast housing problem? Big failure on the EA888 (except Audi, they knew the flaw) I've had 2 Leon Cupra's and both pissed coolant everywehere. My first was a manual 2015 car and the clutch is from a Golf GTi with 220ps! My second came with the 7 speed DSG which was faultless. Stay away from the Pano roof! Leaks like hell!
I've a 69-plate ST and find the wipers are lousy at motorway speeds, juddering and failing to clear the screen properly. Wish I had the 'R' for things like the different seats and quad-exit exhaust, but no way I'm paying an additional £10k-plus when it's no faster than mine.
Valeo wipers are great if you've still got the car.
I'm looking at a 2020 leaon cupra 300 4drive anything I should should aware of
If its got a panoramic sunroof they are a nightmare. Constant rattles and a source of water leaks. They were a £1000 accessory. I would pay a grand not to have one.
I have an ST R 39000kms on the clock, modified too, 0 issues at all.
2 questions.
What bonnet struts are they ?
What side skirts
Many thanks 🙏🏻
Bonnet struts are off a corsa d’s boot! And maxton side skirts.
Thank you mate !
nice
I’m going to look at a seat fr estate Diesel 184 bhp 2013 . 47000 miles two owners . Full Service history . I’m going to view What problems are I’m likely to find
I have the 150 model with 70k and it's an amazing car. Had it mapped and so intake mods and it's an amazing daily!
Very informative. I am about to purchase a new used Cupra yr 2017-2019 here in German (retired US military). While searching, I found it odd that most used Cupra's have/had 2 previous owners and the cars mileage reads 40,50 or 60K. I am thinking why would a young car have so many owners? Is it money, maintenance or loss of interest?
I am german and live in germany. 2 owerns because, the firat one take the car as a "leasing car" the second owner take the for 2 years and sell it, bevor it gones to cheap for selling and buy the next used leasing car. Many people does that..but you meed money and you always drive a young car.
Thats all.
@@JohnAma_85 wow, thank you for the good information. I never thought of that. Well, I am getting the 2018 Cupra 300. It looks like a very good, fast car. 53,289 km!
@dahu seventy i buy the 2020 one. Look for the 7 gear automatic. Don't buy the 6 gear automatic (DSG). The gearbox makes many problems.
When you can get one from 2020, so take this. It will sure not have any problems with the gearbox.
@@JohnAma_85 thank you for that good information. 👍
@@dahuseventy your welcome :)
Informative video but why are you always crouching?
Love the hoodie… any in pink 💓😉
Thanks… keep an eye out you never know.
Great video! I've heard other guys talk about the power of these, a reason they stated was they reduced to power on it, to give the Golf the advantage! Either way, I'd have the Seat! 😁😁😁
Thanks Bob! Yes I wouldn’t put it passed manufacturers to do that… you see it a lot with with Audi vs Lamborghini world too
The golf and s3 also had a 10bhp reduction at the exact same time... and the cupra is still quicker
I prefer the physical buttons otherwise I’d chose the Golf
Mine wont start
Start with battery!
Battery changed cars good as gold
I bought one before watching this video

Ive got one of these and i regret it.Its a pile of shit.Worst car i`e ever bought.
what problems have you had with yours ?
@@mitsirfishi Oil leaks spurting out the top and bottom of engine. It stops when you press on accelerator then bolts forward. The plastic bits in it are cheap and snap easy, the load cover in the boot was busted before i got it.Its registered in 2016, 6 years old but still has wind up rear windows thats knackered my left arm from winding it up and theres a stupid handle sticking right out that adjusts the front seat and ive banged my ankles on it.Car is a pile of shit
damn its mad how different age ones can be so different, mine hasnt had any issues yet, even in the past and its nearly on 100k miles and 8 years old, hell of a fun first car for me ngl, just hope it stays that way
@@brianmorecombe2726 Sounds like you bought a shed, I’ve had mine from new maintained it well and have had absolutely no issues.
