The Seat Leon Cupra R is amazingly stunning and aggressive in this color.

Should be Leon Cupra R vs S3
Correct
The only people that say the Leon is better value for money is people that have never driven an RS3.
@walentaz ye for 9k you can get the car up to 500hp with 6k spare
Rs3 will sell for more money and wayyyyy easier !
But with the S3 the audi won't win this one...
I actually really love the seat, especially in estate form
I've been driving Cupra ST for about 3 years, I love its reliability, fuel consumption and the thrill with all the most sporty settings on. The TSI engine has enormous potential....my 280ps version had 306ps and 380nm on the dyno STOCK! Love it...RS3 has the sound though...
I’ve just staged 2 mine it produced 372bhp and 540nm it’s a real beast I asked the torque to be capped at 520nm instead and I eat a lot of high end cars for breakfast lunch and dinner 😂
You are kidding with fuel consumption :D it is never lower than 10 L/100 km when you drive like an old man. 15+ Liters/100 km when you like to drive more sporty

The Sunroof on the Leon isn’t standard in fact it’s the only option you could spec on that car other that the ABT tune.
Well it might be only 9.000 cheaper in the UK. But over here in The Netherlands the RS3 is over 30.000 more expensive than the Cupra R! (85.000 vs 55.000)
That changes things quite a bit..

Asia Grill same thing in Finland 😞
@Asia Grill You forgot that the Cupra used in the test is tuned by ABT, which makes it probably way more expensive
@@theusersurfer The tuning literally costs 500. that's all :)
@@Fvandenberg Awesome, didnt know it would be that cheap to tune a car.
Leon Cupra R + 9000£ in modifications = circuit monster.
No i5. Thats fully worth 9k
@@dins.garage while i do agree on the engine, you can still get a lot from the Cupra engine and, most importanty, you get less weight over the front axle so presumably, better handling/less understeer. Otherwise, the RS looks a lot better and sounds better than the Cupra. Probably the finishing quality is also a lot better, but that's why is 9k more expensive.
Billy Ryan, no that would be called understeer
Considering you get the 2.5 5cyl. Yeah it really is worth 9k more
Biggie Smells exactly. Pointless comparaison. still love Mat :) test should have been: AUDI S3 or audi RS3, is it 10k more worth?

Rs3 cost 65.000
15:47 I don't care whats's the badge say so I think Cupra is the car to buy for it's hugh value gap from the RS3.
What would be the price difference if the RS was specced like the Cupra, i.e. with panoramic sunroof and adaptive dampers? An extra 2-3k in difference?
Only adaptive dumpers are about £3000 + panoramic sunroof...it going too expensive 🤮

If I'm spending Matt's money, I'd take the Audi. If I'm spending my money, I'd buy the Cupra and a 9000$ used car. :-)
Yeah exactly, you could get a nice second hand audi a4 for 9 grand and have a more fun car and a nice comfy ride too
Or you could tune the cupra to match the audi in performance
@@blackfire_x2964
Considering a £500 tuning adds 50 bhp, giving it a 0-60 of 4.4 that's fucking insane how close it is to the Audi's performance.
You r a genius
Robert Fernandes not the point 😂
I think the Leon is the most beautiful estate out there. That's why I bought one and I love it, although I have a 1.4 TSI, but it's still fun to drive, have good looks, very good mileage and large boot.
That has to be the most poorly specced rs3 I’ve ever seen 😐 a properly specced one looks much meaner
Who would want a mean looking car?! Timid people?
Mattyb you would be paying even more if you did that... so SEAT wins hands down..

VW own and manufacture both these cars, so ultimately; VW are the winners overall.
yes VW owns both of them, but manufacture?

I've got an S3...and I've been in a few Cupras...the interior on the S3 is MUCH nicer..they (S3 & RS3) do need the Supersports seats though. No joke but I actually thought that‘s a normal A3 with s-line!
Yeah that colour combination is too tame for a RS3

I picked the seat because I have been commuting on nice twisty rural B roads for the last 4 years :) and I could do with an estate now and an estate drivers car that is fun on my routes narrows my options quite a bit. Interesting in Cupra St vs golf R estate.
Both excellent cars and the Leon shows just shows how far SEAT has come in manufacturing and designing cars now with the help of VAG. Owning a Leon FR ST myself it’s a very nice car to drive even for a 1.4 TSi.
47k for a golf size car, is a piss take, especially with tuning being so much cheaper these days

I also thought that RS3 didn't sound right... Pops and bangs are missing. and that 4.2 seconds is a Golf's 0 -100 km/h.
@@Mhlanyo Most of the pops and bang were removed already in 2017 with the facelifted model due to sound regulations, but the flaps in the exhaust are open all the time in dynamic mode instead of over 3500 rpm like before, so it sounds more at low revs compared to before. Easy vote. The Seat Leon Cupra R. I am on my 3rd Leon Cupra and I love erm. Great cars. The only negative for me is four wheel drive only comes on the ST estate version. Shame because some of the power is wasted on the front wheel drive Cupra.
As much as all us petrol heads do love a cupra, the RS3 is one of the best Audi RS cars ever made if we are all honest.

I'm absolutely loving how that Seat looks with the copper details
Hey Matt, I love your videos (I‘ve been watching all your videos for a long time now) but I would have two things to suggest:
1) The sound is sometimes too quiet, sometimes its hard to understand you. Would be great to improve that.
2) Anyone outside the UK may have problems with the information such as prices in Pound, miles per gallon etc. (for example, I live in Germany and I believe that the range is now greater than just the UK) and as a viewer you have to convert everything yourself (1st world problems, I know). Maybe it would also be possible to specify Euro prices or liters per kilometer.
Otherwise keep it up. Very good format :) Much love
One thing you didn't mention, RS3 has no rear seat armrest. That's a big disappointment especially at that price point. The Leon has a rear seat armrest. Also I think the Leon cupra R comes in manual transmission.
