Wow I just found this. I've only been a Rush Listener for just under 15 years and his passing brought me here. This is absolute GOLD. The man was as brilliant on TV as he was on Radio.

This highlights Rush's unique ability with humor in the realm of politics- almost equal to his ability as a show host. This was one of the many things that set him apart from his peers as a talk show host. Rush softened quite a bit as the years ticked by-- I suppose we all do. I tuned into his show around '89 and found myself eager to hear his analysis of the antics of the contemporary prominent politicians especially Slick and Hilda. I wish that "early" Rush was around today to keep us guffawing at the characters in the same places today.. AI has a long way to go to be any hope of a Rush resurrection. But wouldn't it be delightful. RIP Rush-- you were a guiding friend to many.
Another reason why we love Rush . Humorous, engaging while educating us about conservative values. He will be missed!

Rush was my mentor. Since senior year in high school 1986. Great man. GOAT. Always crediting God. Miss him dearly.

I love his personality, He was funny witfull and charismatic. He was very bold and confident of himself to the point he was right 99.8 percent of the time, I was on board since 1990. We all love you Rush.

Google don rickles....that was also early in his career and he supposedly had said he wished he hadn't done that later on. Besides just because someone says a few stupid things doesn't write them off for everything else.

He was the one and only! A great man. If you notice the TV show went off the air at about the same time that America lost it's sense of humor. It was great entertainment, but shows like Rush and Carol Barnet and the Dean Martin Roasts would never make it today because anything that is funny is also insensitive. Our country has become a bunch of sensitive fragile vaginas. Our enemies don't have to fire a shot to get us to surrender... they can waltz right in through Joe's new open doors and we will beg to be taken in as slaves. Rush was great and there won't be any replacements for him.
