All I wanted from the dlc is more Mario kart 8 styled music, and they absolutely delivered on that. Can’t wait to listen to some of the likely courses getting in like, Sunset Wilds, Cheep Cheep Island, Mushroom Gorge, Koopa Beach 2, Maple Treeway, Los Angeles Laps, Wario Shipyard, DK Summit, etc…
We absolutely need Wario Colosseum. The music slaps, would slap harder in MK8's style, and the track itself is just BEGGING for the anti-gravity gimmick.
Choco Mountain's new arrangement gives me Moo Moo Meadows vibes, they didn't need to go that far, for an arrangement but they did it, and i love it. Moo Moo Meadows is absolutely my favorite re-arrangement, and now Choco Mountain comes in close second
The new Paris remix is simply magical, the flute and swing add to it so much! Cannot wait to see what they do with London, LA and especially Berlin and Vancouver!
Please tell me this is gonna be a regular thing, would love to hear your musical feedback on the other upcoming Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC tracks as well.
16:38 I didn't expect to appear here XD btw I'm a big fan of Ninja Hideaway music, I think MK8's version is a bit better but not by far :) I hope you will react to the other waves too, it was pretty neat! :D
@@KartLife Speaking as someone who just got it recommended, I'm glad you made it! Mario Kart is a sometimes food for me, but I love having videos like this to discover when I'm into it.
I think it would be a huge opportunity if you did this for all the tracks, or at least retro tracks that already exist in the game. Your analysis has made me appreciate the little details even more.
I’d like to say that the 8 version of ninja hideaway fits well and I like it more because usually in tour, when you play a map, the road is usually streamlined and on the path, but in 8, people are zipping by, going in multiple branching paths and the twists and turns and energy of “where do I go?” Gets a bit intense, and that intensity is then amplified by the song. Not to mention that the misic lines up so well when you play it. And that’s what I think they were going for when you hear the song and you feel that.
So I'm not alone preferring Tour's rendition of Sky Garden over MK8D's. Not sure why it's that. The electronic theme of Tour gives that crunchy GBA vibe that Super Circuit had.
While I loved your analysis and it's clear that you have a lot of musical knowledge, I fundamentally disagree with your opinions that some of the tracks are to "over the top". I f-ing *love* the over the top nature of these songs, its what gives them personality. I remember you said one of the tracks goes "too hard". In my opinion a track could *never* go too hard, Nintendo could make a heavy metal track for Mario Kart and I would eat it up. I'm the kind of person who usually wants songs to go *harder*, I think that's why I love Hyperpop so much, it lets songs go as hard as possible, literally distorting the music if necessary. At the end of the day it's ok these are just differing opinions, its just so rare that I ever see anyone talk about how a track hoes "too hard" nowadays :P
My favorite music from Mariokart is Sky Garden, and although I love the new version, some elements are missing, especially the melodies that went along the main melody, that are pretty much missing now.
VST stands for Virtual Studio Technology, and it's a software interface that allows users to integrate virtual instruments and effects into digital audio workstations (DAWs). VSTs use digital signal processing (DSP) to simulate traditional recording studio hardware.
I really like to see MK8 and MKT getting Fusion, and love to hear Music and play MKT Tracks on MK8. I'm so exiting for next future wave tracks too. Like your Reaction, It was feels like listening to a lecture by a musician. 😀
I took a listen to all the soundtracks of the unique tour courses, and if there’s anything that blew me away in the first 10 seconds, it would be Berlin. It just goes so hard and intense before continuing just as strong with more orchestral sounds.
Great analysis on this new soundtrack! Have you considered doing similar content on remixes of the Mario kart tracks? It's a thriving community on YT (of which I'm a part). Always cool to hear how we all interpret music so differently!
You missed the best part of Choco Mountain! (with the organ i think it is) Also I'm glad they're making up for the lack of slap bass in the base (bass) game :)
Tokyo Blur and Toad Circuit might not be the best tracks of the DLC, but they sure are hella underrated, and they by far are some of the best osts of the ENTIRE GAME!
Quite disappointed with ninja hideaway's music remake. The electric guitar section got completely shafted. It's much quieter and is barely noticeable, not to mention it basically got replaced by the weird electro noises
Ik I Heard it and it sounds Not terrible but odd, tbh I think they picked wrong track, Ninja Hide way, it would of been better if they implemented los Angelos tour stage instead or another tour tour stage instead
Same, the only tracks i didn't really like among the 8 were Ninja Hideaway and Coconut Mall, as for Coconut Mall i feel like they made it quieter, less hectic, doesn't have the energy that the original has and leaves me waiting for the part where it ramps up but it never comes. and for Ninja Hideaway, i love the "Beep" noise at the end the most, the rest is mostly the same as the original, but that drop at the end is much better on Tour i feel like, i can't exactly explain why but the adrenaline rush isn't there anymore, it's mostly the build-up that is different.
The only caveat with the new mixes is there won't be a new remix IF the track already has its music in the game. Waluigi Pinball just uses Wario Stadium's music, meaning other examples, such as Moo Moo Farm, may follow suit
They’re likely not going to pick Moo Moo Farm, since we’ve already got Wii Moo Moo Meadows (which is, admittedly, a better track), and it’s highly likely that the rest of the DLC won’t include any more N64 courses. Kalimari Desert may be it.
I'll give a few opinions on each soundtrack for this wave: N64 Choco Mountain - I definitely gotta say... I was a little disappointed at first. It just doesn't fit right with the track. I did however like the song after a while, but still imo is the most disappointing. Wii Coconut Mall - I've got nothing to say this is just pure nostalgia! DS Shroom Ridge - Holy...shit... they went all out on this track! Definitely one of the biggest bops in MK8! Tour Paris Promenade - Basically still sounds the same as I remembered, except one part in the middle is a bit different and sounds more like a sky track. Sounds pretty good, just not the best. 3DS Toad Circuit - OK remix I guess Tour Tokyo Blur - Such a underrated theme. MK8 brings it back classic style with the sax/jazz! Amazing remix! Tour Ninja Hideaway - Sounds mostly identical to the original... BUT THEY MADE IT EVEN BETTER! GBA Sky Garden - Tbh..... this is probably the best remix by far in this first wave of the Booster Course Pass. That guitar solo KILLED me!
Expectation: "I think they're going to add some electric guitar" Reality: There are less Electric Guitars in the MK8 version... or at least they're less noticeable.

Toad's Factory done in MK8's style would be blessed
