I believe Rosalina's Ice World is one of the fabled Retro Studios' nitro tracks on MK7, maybe that's why the music is so unique, Retro Studios' Metroid OSTs are iconic, and kinda feel like it has influenced this track;s song
The ending theme is absolutely jaw dropping It's probably my favourite video game song ever
I really do enjoy the more critical look that you give to these tracks. I will be honest, live instruments and a couple of extra harmonies are enough to get me excited usually, but this series has helped me appreciate the masterful composition of the originals. Rosalina's Ice World and Los Angeles Laps in particular.
I started crying when you played the smk credits music just before the bcp one. I had no idea it is the same melody. I was smiling and crying all the way through the credits music.😢

What an incredible end. The credits theme especially was phenomenal as it rly felt like the credits for not only the bcp, but also tour.
I’m not the biggest fan of tour, but I know SO many people love it and continue to enjoy it to this day. So I’m glad this credits theme can act as a tribute to that game and all its fans.

It’s weird to feel nostalgia for a lot of these tracks especially the Wii and Tour ones… I mean I agree with you in that we should enjoy what we have and be grateful for these tracks and music cause they did not have to drop 48 new bangers. Tokyo Blur showing up in the credits definitely made me nearly emotional though, that’s my birthday track.
The new Daisy Circuit is now my fav song in the entire game they did such a good job

Such a bittersweet moment to see this series end. You analyze these songs with a depth that makes me appreciate them even more. I hope you get to react to more music whenever the next mariokart game comes out!!

I agree Rosalina's Ice World's soundtrack in MK7 is extremely underrated, and it's one of my favorite MK7 songs, maybe one of my favorite Mario Kart songs of all time.
Man, what a journey, it was an amazing idea to do these reaction videos. At 9:06 of the Wii Daisy Circuit music track, you can hear the same melody line that’s also used in the “Mario Kart Wii track main theme” that’s used in the other two MK Wii tracks(Luigi and Mario Circuit) Everyone will immediately think of that music theme as soon as they hear MK Wii bc it’s so iconic and nostalgic, which may be why this particular track sounds so iconic to you.
The MKWii Rainbow Road key change is one of the only pieces of music ever to consistently send chills down my spine and they 100% captured that in 8 Deluxe.
He should totally do these videos for the rest of mk8... or other (mario) game soundtracks

One thing about the Staff Roll confuses me. They used the themes of *all* the fan favourite cities except for Sydney Sprint, which is really strange because that's like one of the most popular city courses
**BIG GASP** THE FINALE I WAS LOOKING OUT FOR, FINALLY, I’ve been watching your BCP music analysis videos since the beginning and I love your of going over them, thank you for this adventure
First of all, thank you for making this series. I absolutely love this soundtrack, and the insights you give about it.
That said, for 1 last time, here is my opinion on each song (I know I'm late 😭) -
Rome Avanti - This song makes me feel really warm and cozy, not much else to say.
DK Mountain - I never really liked this one that much, but I think every change they made to it in the remake was good. The flute sounds very nice.
Daisy Circuit - I LOVE this. My college jazz combo recently did a concert themed after Samba and Bossa Nova, and I love how the reimagined this song in that style. You can really feel the musicians putting everything they had into that last section.
Piranha Plant Cove - This is a very good song, and I like the synth bass a lot. I think Wild Woods does this style of music a bit better though.
Madrid Drive - The perfect last city song. I love this track and the music sets the mood perfectly.
Rosalina's Ice World - I'm gonna be honest, I didn't like this song in MK7 at all. The melodic bass line combined with the piano sample they used and the weird melody makes the song sound really muddy to me (Which is a problem I have with a lot of MK7's soundtrack, especially Wario Shipyard and the original Piranha Plant Slide.) But this new version really helps me see the appeal of the song. Still not one of my favorites, but I enjoy this version a lot more.
Bowser Castle 3 - I really think the upbeat style established in the original Super Mario Kart should have always been what they did for Bowser's Castle tracks. They did it in Super Circuit, but then there was a long break of slow songs that just don't suit a racing game very well. It's weird how little Bowser's Castle themed tracks are in MK8, but I'm glad both of them have upbeat and intense music.
Rainbow Road - This is one of the best songs in the game, no question. I thought this was a bit overrated in Wii, but I love this rendition so much. Something I loved about the original is that it uses a breakbeat, and I'm glad they kept it in this version (although less prominent). Also, I'm working on a piano arrangement of this song, and the way the chord progression changes the key back from Db to D when the song loops honestly blows my mind, I don't understand how it does it so smoothly.
Credits - This got me just as emotional as the original MK8 credits theme, if not more. As a saxophonist, I am super happy that we got one more saxophone solo on Singapore, and the trumpet solo was also awesome.

imo with Rosalina’s Ice World
in 7 it has the ice world and the otherworldly compacted, but the ice felt like it overshadows the otherworldly, 8 deluxe really made the otherworldly feeling more apparent especially when the character it bases around is supposed to be cosmic and otherworldly and it really makes it like both get a chance to shine
Now that we're here all I wanted to say a huge thank you for the worthwhile content. You're definitely one of the reasons why I enjoy mario kart more than the average player. These music reviews is what I enjoy most from gaming, and I really love just how informative and unique these music reactions have been. Again, thank you so much for the educational entertainment that I didn't realize I needed.

I really hope there’s future music related content from you, because there’s really not enough of this kind of this thing on the platform and your in depth understanding and insight on everything really made this series something special.
I think we can all agree that the Wii had the best video game music of all time. Mario kart, Mario galaxy, nsmbWii, Wii sports/resort, smash brawl, etc. So good.

Your soundtrack reactions are probably the biggest highlight with the waves. Maybe an end of an era is coming soon for Tour, but I would love to see you make videos on other soundtracks. Not only game ones, but some shows and such that I found has some great hits for some of the strangest sources.

This was such an amazing finale to the series. I have found it so entertaining to watch you explain the details, history, and influences of all these wonderful Mario Kart songs. You aren’t the only one who loves Rosa’s Ice World. It’s my favorite level from 7 and I’m so glad it’s back in DX.
I also like how Snes bowsers castle is a remix of the Mario world final fight.
Daang- I personally wasn't too into Tour, but seeing that ending bit with all of the past clips really shows how much it meant to ya', and I'm not about to take that away, I respect it
I agree, I like the Wii version better than 8's version of Daisy Circuit, but I can see why some would like 8's more.
8:25 For years I have been super obsessed with the intro music section of daisy circuit and it's amazing. The only word to describe its remake is "eargasm". They went super all out for this track adding way more details for this amazing track than other ones.
You really dissected the music in a fun and engaging way, and you really know the history of your stuff, great video. Keep up the good work!
I left the premiere before the credits theme so I could hear it in-game first and then come back to see your reaction. I get the hype now, they really went off on that piece.
Also, I love how the fade-out adds an extra feeling of finality compared to the original credits.
5:55 : It's only when you mentioned what the flute was doing that I realized the music director seemingly infused the musical direction of some of the flute heavy tracks from Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze into that remix. I LOVE IT!!

Question: if you do make a Mario Kart music tier list, would you include Arcade GP DX? It's a fantastic soundtrack by a big bunch of Bandai Namco sound staff and is pretty faithful to the Mario Kart style, was wondering if you'd even heard it before.

Also those sweep picking arpeggios on the double kick section are so sick in SNES Bowser Castle 3 and the chugging riff through the song is crushing. I was absoulty blown away with that track probably the most metal in the ost 🤘

This is probably the best wave in terms of music, with Wii Rainbow Road taking the spot of my favorite song in the entire Mario Kart series! Though, Toad's Factory will probably take its spot back whenever it gets remade in 20 years.

Rosalina's Ice World was probably not planned for dlc til later, maybe replacing ppp, thus got a more remixed song rather than full remaster

This has been amazing, watching your genuine reactions (unlike other youtuber reactions), as well as learning new stuff about the music. I have been playing mario kart tour since before multiplayer was open for everyone, so the credits really hit hard for me. I have played all the city courses so many times, even though I prefer mario tracks over city tracks. I just hope nintendo releases a full mario kart 8 deluxe soundtrack with all the battle tracks and the booster course pass, just like they did with mario kart 8. If they did that, I would buy it, even if it's japan exclusive.

2, I was SO afraid you wouldn't like Bowser's Castle, I didn't know if you were a Heavy Metal Fan or not, but seeing you rock out was hilariously awesome! Also, I love how the guitar introduces itself like a roar, like Bowser's roar, when I first heard that I felt like I needed to shred it sounded so awesome, so metal!
What a ride! I hope you continue something like this in the future should there be more Mario Kart games (sad to see no Delfino Square), or maybe even analyze other games music like Pokemon/Zelda/non-Nintendo Games. Either way, your commentary has been so insightful and makes listening to music that much more fun.

So many great soundtracks. I love all of them in this video. Madrid is just so awesome, SNES BC3 legit sounds like it could be a song by a famous metal band or something. And Wii Rainbow Road? Just perfect. This entire soundtrack reaction playlist was great to watch and listen to. Absolutely love the nice touch with the end credits, putting in your MKT reactions with the city music. Really gives it a sort of feeling of finality. Couldn't have been a better ending if you ask me
I'm sad to see that mario kart I deluxe content has ended and thanks for the soundtrack reactions which you've kept bringing in more detail into every video and I'm so happy the credits theme takes us through a couple of tour nostalgic tracks but sad New York and Sydney aren't there but otherwise I'm very surprised to find a roslina ice world underapricater like me and I love those little church bells at the start of the B section but I hope we hear from pirahna plant pipeline in the future
It´s incredible how the base game itself is almost 10 years old! That goes to show how much we love it and keep playing it over and over again! Thanks to the BCP and all the new Waves, Tracks and OST, we really got the biggest Mario Kart game ever yet! And how they ended it off was just sooo heartwarming and epic! Music really touches a person´s soul! Let´s enjoy it as long as we can still!

While it's sad that Piranha Plant Pipeline didn't get to go to 8 Deluxe, it was not a course that I was very fond of. It was not that interesting to me. However, it's way better than that boring oval course called Sky-High Sundae.

If there's *one* track you should (accidentally) listen to the Frontrunning version of, it's DK Mountain.
