The issue people are having with the Waluigi Pinball music thing is that the MK8 version of DS Wario Stadium was personalized to that specific track - this was even talked about in an interview with one of the musicians, how it was made "nastier" to better fit Wario.

That Kalimari desert went HARD!!! my favorite of the bunch
I love all the cultural appreciation on this channel when checking out the city tracks and the appreciation of the little details in the soundtrack. Loved the deep dives! I said in the chat but I'll repeat to gague interest in the replies, I'd love to see a reaction video on some of the Mario & Sonic re-recordings either between waves or when we run out of them. DS Cheep Cheep Beach in Rio 2016 is one of my favourites, and there's also quite a lot from Wii across the series.
I have to agree with mayro here, also to add onto her thoughts , your musicality is CRAZY. The attention to detail within each song weather it was simple changes , instruments playing and all the different changes was very pleasurable to watch. I gotta sub . More videos like this please !!!

Love that his reaction to the Sky High Sundae soundtrack was exactly how I reacted to it! Now that is the 2nd best soundtrack in the series. Only beaten by Toad's Factory.
Have you listened to the Tour version? That one makes me move uncontrollably the syncopation is so good lol
Tour actually doesn't do a lot of unique remixes, the only ones I can think of are, like, GBA Sunset Wilds and GBA Sky Garden (and I assume GBA Snow Land too, when that comes.)
Most of the time, Tour uses the latest version of the song that was made NOT INCLUDING MK8, for some reason.
Examples include Wii Mushroom Gorge (Tour used MK7's), SNES Mario Circuit (Tour used MK7's), and others.

My take is that it’s impressive that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe went 63 tracks in before repeating a song. And my hope is that we won’t see another repeat for the rest of the BCP
It was marvelous to listen to you discuss two of your greatest passions together! Superb reactions, editing, and commentary. I learned a lot, and completely agree with you on your take of SHS. They did way more than expected, and it holds up to some of the best in the MK music library.

I personally prefer the simpler and more focused in the main note tour renditions of city tracks in wave 2 but i prefer tokyo blur's and paris promenade's 8dx rendition

Okay, so here's the issue with Waluigi Pinball.
The arrangement created for Mario Kart 8 was created specifically to fit the vibe of DS Wario Stadium.
Of course, the Wario Stadium arrangement fits Waluigi Pinball just fine, but it does not re-capture the same vibe as the original song.
On the Soundtrack CD for Mario Kart 8, the sound team stated that they did not emphasize on the melody, and instead focused on the beat. Making it bombastic to fit Wario's personality. When I listen, I get a strong 'Extreme Sports' vibe from it.
Waluigi Pinball should ideally have an arrangement that feels more crunchy and arcade-y. Maybe even casino-y. In that case, the Wario Stadium arrangement does not really do that job. It still has that extreme sports feel to it.
Mario Kart 8 did not have any shared music tracks originally, so it's definitely disappointing to hear that change with the Booster Course Pass. Ultimately it's not very big of a deal, but a disappointment, to be sure.
Sky high sundae is my all time favorite music I love how they have the bells music and I wasn’t expecting a new track it could be sweet sweet cannons big sister track so hype! And also kalimari dessert.
I never get tired watching these videos over and over!

The snow land intro I think was added to make it easier to load the full song. They're called prefetches, and the switch wouldn't load them in time
This video makes me gain a whole new appreciation to the Booster Pass' soundtrack. Love it! Kinda bummed about the Sydney situation, but the analysis of the other music tracks are awesome.

actually, all the Mario Kart Tour retro tracks but Sunset Wilds and Sky Garden just reuse MK7 remixes or the original musics (for instance : Mushroom Gorge, Daisy Cruiser, Coconut Mall, Choco Mountain.... are not remixed at all in MKT)

Not all mario kart tour retro tracks use the original (For example: GBA Cheep Cheep Island - Wii, SNES Choco Island - DS, DS Waluigi Pinball - 3DS, etc.)
Yes all of Tour’s soundtrack is MIDI.
I do respect what you say about the abundance of drum fills but I have to disagree with you, it just brings so much rhythmic variety to a track that’s been remixed countless times (in the MC 3 case). I genuinely don’t think it’s over the top: the accents with the splash on the rhythmically interesting melodic bits support the melody so well and keeps it chugging.
Besides, that’s just how Satoshi Bandoh (and most Japanese jazz drummers play). Listen to T-square (his band) and you’ll see what I mean.

Thanks for the reply! I only assume it’s Bandoh since he’s the main drummer for pretty much all of 8 (apart from the original DLC pack 1 which I guess clashed with Bandoh’s schedule). It sounds like his style at least.

My “sky high” comment here: it’s like comparing Sugar Rush from Reck it Ralf to the Disney movie Frozen.
I’m telling you, despite never playing Super Circuit, hearing that snow land, and the sky garden remixes was magical for me!
Ok. In Sky High, that bass probably burnt to a crisp by the time the recoding session is done. What that Bass player is doing to that thing is extreme. I mean, that Bass has to be smoking while he's playing it. It's like when some person does one of those Rhythm Games, at that Hyper speed Ultra Hard mode. You know, the stuff you see that no real musician usually has to use that kind of motor reflexes or speed to play the music that's playing.... Well, until this Bass player took on that challenge, here.
So yeah, I guess they need to put this song on one of those Rhythm Arcade machines (the ones with the round pads you hit) and when you select Super expert, you have to match the Bass part of this song.
Since it seems people are asking for it, are you gonna redo Sydney Sprint when wave 3's music releases, without the frontrunning version? To get a proper reaction to the version of the song without the pronounced drum beat.

I like that Snow Land has a Swiss Polka sound to it.
I will mention that the SNES Mario Circuit and N64 Kalimari Desert remasters used in Tour are the Mario Kart 7 versions of the songs, but you are still entirely fine since Tour just reused those ones.

Sky-High sundae reminds me of fall guys, with the slap bass, and it fits the look too.
So far almost all of the DLC Soundtracks have been Amazing (some not so much) But it has not disappointed, and that makes me excited to see what the rest of the DLC will bring us!!!
Wii rainbow road waiting to get an outstanding remix
Im completely fine with Pinball sharing Stadium's theme. It fits the track still, and the game will end with 96 tracks -- its not a big deal for a few to share themes.
Kalimari Desert is so beautiful, defo my favourite soundtrack from these. New York Minute is my favourite city music but not much of a fan of how it sounds in this game, defo prefer the MKT version

It takes a certain type of person to like chip tunes. I remember growing how I would be kinda embárreles of my video game music because people are always like “what is this ?” A lot of people don’t get it. But I think you really have to love music to get it as opposed to just liking the hits on the radio. Now video use scores which I also love.

I wouldn’t say Shroom Ridge is like nothing else; the melody line reminds me of a sprightly version of “El Cóndor Pasa” that we used to play at my brother’s basketball practices as a joke. But you’re right that it is genre-defying.
I for one am not looking forward to LA Laps, because as you may know, I’m not a fan, to put it mildly. But I am interested in how they amalgamate all the courses into one!
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m about to reel over the Kalamari Desert remake a little bit more!

I can't wait to hear what they do for LA Laps not because it's my favorite, but because it's my LEAST favorite. I honestly kinda hate it! I want to like it but I can't in its current state. But the MK8(DX) arrangers have created now 63 incredible bangers not including battle or menus and if the leak is to be believed they're replacing the wack "orchestra hits" with saxophones which is already a step in the right direction. Nothing will get me to like Tour's version of LA Laps, but maybe the BCP can

Can't say I get the hate for Mushroom Gorge (nor have I actually heard anyone bash it). It already sounded fine coming from MKWii, and it's not like a lot of other songs didn't get the same treatment both in the Booster Pack and the main game (Music Park, Sherbet Land, Wario's Gold Mine, Toad Circuit, etc.). If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?
Waluigi Pinball on the other hand I do kinda agree with what people are saying but for a different reason. I don't mind the Wario Stadium rendition of this game by itself, but it doesn't completely fit Waluigi Pinball. That song feels a bit too... grungy, if I could put it one way. I like the arcade-y feel of the original song on the DS, and honestly think it would fit better even with the outdated soundfount. It'd give the track more of a "video game" kind of feel, which fits for a pinball table.
Remix doesn't mean what you think it means lol. If you re-do any existing work, be it a photograph, a song, a poem, then you've made a remix. Awesome vid make more

17:46 Ok, I've never played Tour before, but have listened to the music of most of the Tour tracks, and I'm just going to say that while I fully respect your opinion, I cannot stand LA Lap's theme. It honestly grates on my nerves. I do not have high expectations for it's future remade theme as a result. MK8 's Ninja Hideaway on the other hand, has one of my favorite MK track themes of all time, and I sometimes can't help but move my head to the beat.
London Loop, Berlin Byways, and Amsterdam Drift all have themes that I'm looking forward to being remade though.

I think the frustration with them reusing DS Wario Stadium's music for Waluigi Pinball is the fact that Nintendo went incredibly lazy with it.
Yes, you touched on this, people wanted them to at least make *some* sort of distinction between the two, rather like how Mario Kart Stadium and Mario Circuit (8's version) use the same tune, but have completely different arrangements.
I don't know how you take the position of "it's totally understandable that they reuse it here," because they've done it in the past, when you've also acknowledged that this was only done out of necessity in the past because of hardware limitations, whereas no such hardware limitations exist now.
If anything, it's *NOT* understandable that they do this, because they have no excuse anymore. The arrangement done for DS Wario Stadium is great, but it doesn't QUITE fit Waluigi Pinball, because it wasn't arranged with Waluigi Pinball in mind.
