I've been saying it for years. Moonview Highway deserves better. Glad GWallPro gave it that number 11, but this vote says it all. The C minor blues scale goes absolutely nuts on this song, and with the added 2nds I'm hearing in some of those chords DAMN. Not to mention that drum solo between movements.
Fun fact: part of Cloudtop Cruise’s music actually has a part that was taken directly from Gusty Garden Galaxy, so that’s why it gives off Super Mario Galaxy vibes

3ds rainbow road is kinda boring (for me and i totally respect your opinion) EDIT : Now my mind has changed after playing this track on mk8dx, it became the best rainbow track of the franchise with the rainbow track from wii how did i close my eyes on that masterpiece, nobody knows.

While some of my favs like Hyrule Circuit, Berlin Byways, and GCN Rainbow Road didn’t win, I’m glad my favorite song, 3DS Rainbow Road, actually won, which I don’t think anyone expected, since we also had Coconut Mall and Waluigi Pinball. After all the crazy events of the previous rounds, it finally ends with an emotional ride through the stars, and I’m glad I could be a part of it with you guys. Here’s to hoping the MK8DX version will be just as much of an emotional roller coaster as it was before.
This was such a beautiful Tier List project for everyone to take part in. I was so happy with the top 4. A Meme track that is heavily iconic with Coconut Mall, An underdog track with Toad's Factory (By the way, an absolute Bop), A techno track filled with Nostalgia as Waluigi Pinball (And DS Wario Stadium can't forget that) and then a beautiful space explorative journey through MK7 Rainbow Road. As for other Tier Lists, I would love to see everyone rank their favourite Smash Bros Stage. We have over 100 of them now and since Smash Ultimate has finally ended, I would absolutely adore to see what everyone thinks is the best Smash Bros Stage of all time
I can guarantee that London loop would jump to at least the top half once it's inevitably remade in 8 deluxe. Using actual guitars will make this sound as good as it should have.
Really surprised to see Toads Factory at number 3, but it definitely deserves it, by far my favourite track of all time, really hoping to see is as part of the MK8DX DLC
What an amazing final 4. We got the nostalgia filled, we got the iconic meme, we got the underdog and of course; we got the beautifully orchestrated 3DS Rainbow Road. The most worthy of the number 1 spot.
I'm certain the real reason Waluigi Pinball got so high is because the course is so linked to Waluigi himself, so when someone (myself included) voted for Waluigi Pinball, it wasn't just because we like the music, but also because we like Waluigi himself.

As a 3ds nerd, and some one who never grew out of the 3ds phase I am extremely happy we got the best Rainbow Road because Mario kart 7 is one of the most underrated games in the series

Honestly I'm glad Mushroom Gorge, Shroom Ridge, Waluigi's Pinball, and Coconut Mall made it pretty far! Wish I could've participated and found out about this sooner tho
I always think of Coconut Mall as being overrated, then I hear the song and it all makes sense. Other notes, surprised Ninja Hideaway made it so far especially above some superior Tour tracks like Berlin and Sydney. And congrats on Toad's Factory for being #3! I've always loved that song, as a kid I'd play on the course just to hear the music.
How could y’all not love Moonview Highway? For me, at least, it was the Wii version of the SNES Rainbow Road. All of the skills and confidence you built while playing the game now put to the test with a banger of a soundtrack to accompany and emphasize that. I will pick Moonview Highway over Waluigi Pinball any day, til the day I die. That and Dry Dry Ruins, I have never heard anybody shred a sitar like that.
This was an awesome tournament! It also helped show me songs that I never knew sounded so good. As for a new tourney, how about one based off of retro renditions. I have to shoutout Soy SauceTube for that great idea! Also, how about a poll for the best Smash Bros. Remix? This one would probably be much more ambitious due to the sheer amount of tracks, but there may be some way to make it a little easier to do. Maybe separate that by game?
I think dry dry desert and desert hills have great songs that fit their desert settings very well, its just that the desert themed tracks tend to be forgettable and boring in terms of track design. If no one cares about the track, no one will care about the music
Ah man, had I realized you were gonna include comments for the tracks, I would've tried to say something about more of them (and perhaps made my comments shorter too lol) cause there really is a lot here that deserved more love or at least sth appreciative said about them. Regardless, this was super fun, a real blast. And hell yes, my #1, also my #3 fav Mario Game theme of all time won, I am truly ecstatic. And honestly the entire Top 15 was pretty damn fire, so hell yes to that.
I was unreasonably mad when dolphin shoals got rated 33, but I can see why it got voted out since it’s kinda on the jazzy side. My close second personally is coconut mall, it’s bopping!
I wasn’t expecting the tour tracks would get so much since a good half of the community hates it, but I’m happy see it get some love with “Vancouver Velocity” and “Ninja Hideaway”

Vancouver Velocity will always be my favourite, but that’s because the experience was so amazing for me. I live not far from there, and when it was announced to be the third track on MarioKart Tour, I nearly fell out of my chair in shock. The locations in the course are gorgeous and reminiscent of the real things (not sure why they call Stanley Park “Vancouver Park”, but whatever), but the fresh, crisp soundtrack captures the modernity of Vancouver well, while still keeping it pulse-pounding and epic-sounding. Kudos to the composers and musicians who truly gave me tears, goosebumps, and very little sleep the night I first played that track. Wow.
I don’t understand how the 3ds circuit theme was miles ahead of the Wii one. It’s not THAT much better than the Wii one or even better than the Wii one at all…

I think Bowser’s Castle (N64) is one of the most bone-chilling, creepiest mario kart song, and is probably in my top 10 favourite. the mario kart wii version is just more scarier. the song just fits the look and purpose of the track. the lava in the background of the track makes it feel deathly and isolated, and inside the castle feels haunted due to the huge space and bowser statues. the garden between bends 8-10 make the track more mysterious.
Seeing Toad’s Factory in top 3 was a big shock, because I had great childhood memories with the music and track in my eyes. But darn it this will always be number one in my heart.
SPOILER: As someone who has an emotional attatchment to MKWII and has Toad's Factory as a favorite, it was AMAZING to see it come in 3rd (second for Wii) only to Coconut Mall. However, I was caught off-guard by MK7's Rainbow Road being #1. I thought people threw it into the dump, but it makes me more than happy to see it ranked on top!
Comment on Big Blue: no charm or nostalgia factor, made it to top 16 on quality alone. Me, who vividly remembers busting countless Wild Boars to the tune of Big Blue at Night in stage 4 of F-Zero GX's story mode:
I’m proud of Toad’s Factory, it’s definitely my favorite track in the whole series due to how just damn snazzy it is. 3rd place isn’t bad at all and is much farther than I expected it to get.
This was a great poll to take part in, I was very surprised by some of the placements but ultimately fairly happy with how it turned out (even though GBA Bowser Castle got snubbed)
That guy was right, throwing Shy Guy Falls at only 19th is indeed an unforgivable sin and those who opposed such a perfect track shall face consequences.
5:18 For Sherbet Land: One of my favourite OSTs, really fits the track and just never gets boring to me. Nice and chill song for a relaxing track, 10/10

Honestly, i expected Waluigi Stadium on top 50 or 60, didnt expect It to be top 45. Glad to see that many people like me love the soundtrack as much as i do.
Gotta say, the polls were pretty good, pretty intense. Some of my favorite tracks got pretty high, some were pretty low. Looking forward to the next content and possibly more polls that come along. Won’t spoil the results but I appeared in #48, #10, and #1
Dolphin shoals is the single jazziest song in mario kart. The only reason im geussing its so low is cuz the underwater part is pretty bad and the majority of the track.
Man if I'd known the comments would matter, I really would've said a lot more on some of these tracks. Lemme me add to some of the missing ones: Wario's Shipyard just screams a gritty underwater pirate setting. I mean it's a graveyard of shipwrecks. Might be the best fitting Wario music in the series. It certainly got done dirty in a way. Bangkok Rush is just like any Tour theme, extremely unique sounding, and especially this one with its vast use of local Thai instruments. Enjoyed it a lot in Tour. Daisy Hills. This may sound weird but if you try you can smell the breeze of fresh mountain air through the flutes in the music. I certainly can. Wii Bowser's Castle kinda sticks out in a way as this Bowser's Castle doesn't really aim to sound either extremely chilling or overly bombastic, but rather goes for a more mysterious sounding piece. It still has this haunting nature, similar to N64's and GCN's version, but there's also some determination in there. Like you can get out of this hellish place if you give it your all. (Overall never thought about this track or any other much before until now. And it's actually really interesting how each Bowser's Castle sounds pretty similar, but has one distinct feature that sets it apart from the rest) And Vanilla Lake... It's just Vanilla Lake, just like they said. Jk, Vanilla Lake has some nice use of the SNES soundchip for creating those frozen xylophone sounds to represent the frozen feeling. One of my favourite Super Mario Kart tracks. Anyways this was a fun list to partake in, really hope we get to see more in the future!~ Also Y'ALL DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and listen to this FUNKFEST THAT IS *SINGAPORE SPEEDWAY* RIGHT NOW if you haven't!!

How could y’all not love Moonview Highway? For me, at least, it was the Wii version of the SNES Rainbow Road. All of the skills and confidence you built while playing the game now put to the test with a banger of a soundtrack to accompany and emphasize that. I will pick Moonview Highway over Waluigi Pinball any day, til the day I die. That and Dry Dry Ruins, I have never heard anybody shred a sitar like that.
This was an awesome tournament! It also helped show me songs that I never knew sounded so good. As for a new tourney, how about one based off of retro renditions. I have to shoutout Soy SauceTube for that great idea! Also, how about a poll for the best Smash Bros. Remix? This one would probably be much more ambitious due to the sheer amount of tracks, but there may be some way to make it a little easier to do. Maybe separate that by game?

I think dry dry desert and desert hills have great songs that fit their desert settings very well, its just that the desert themed tracks tend to be forgettable and boring in terms of track design. If no one cares about the track, no one will care about the music

The snes bowser castle theme is incredible in the booster course pass. Whenever I go to the song section, that is one of the first choices I pick.

Ah man, had I realized you were gonna include comments for the tracks, I would've tried to say something about more of them (and perhaps made my comments shorter too lol) cause there really is a lot here that deserved more love or at least sth appreciative said about them. Regardless, this was super fun, a real blast. And hell yes, my #1, also my #3 fav Mario Game theme of all time won, I am truly ecstatic. And honestly the entire Top 15 was pretty damn fire, so hell yes to that.

I wasn’t expecting the tour tracks would get so much since a good half of the community hates it, but I’m happy see it get some love with “Vancouver Velocity” and “Ninja Hideaway”

Vancouver Velocity will always be my favourite, but that’s because the experience was so amazing for me. I live not far from there, and when it was announced to be the third track on MarioKart Tour, I nearly fell out of my chair in shock. The locations in the course are gorgeous and reminiscent of the real things (not sure why they call Stanley Park “Vancouver Park”, but whatever), but the fresh, crisp soundtrack captures the modernity of Vancouver well, while still keeping it pulse-pounding and epic-sounding.
Kudos to the composers and musicians who truly gave me tears, goosebumps, and very little sleep the night I first played that track. Wow.
I don’t understand how the 3ds circuit theme was miles ahead of the Wii one. It’s not THAT much better than the Wii one or even better than the Wii one at all…
Bro I love SNES Bowser castle man, that track is almost as fire as the lava that surrounds the track!

I think Bowser’s Castle (N64) is one of the most bone-chilling, creepiest mario kart song, and is probably in my top 10 favourite.
the mario kart wii version is just more scarier. the song just fits the look and purpose of the track. the lava in the background of the track makes it feel deathly and isolated, and inside the castle feels haunted due to the huge space and bowser statues.
the garden between bends 8-10 make the track more mysterious.
It was so hard for me to vote in these polls because almost every Mario Kart song is an absolute banger

SPOILER: As someone who has an emotional attatchment to MKWII and has Toad's Factory as a favorite, it was AMAZING to see it come in 3rd (second for Wii) only to Coconut Mall. However, I was caught off-guard by MK7's Rainbow Road being #1. I thought people threw it into the dump, but it makes me more than happy to see it ranked on top!

I’m proud of Toad’s Factory, it’s definitely my favorite track in the whole series due to how just damn snazzy it is. 3rd place isn’t bad at all and is much farther than I expected it to get.

These were good and all, but y'all are sleeping on the Battle Themes. SNES Battle Theme, DS Battle Theme, Delfino Pier and Thwomp Desert are Fire!
Dolphin shoals is the single jazziest song in mario kart.
The only reason im geussing its so low is cuz the underwater part is pretty bad and the majority of the track.
I think, seeing as you’ve had us rank the racing music, you should have us rank the battle mode music from across each game too
Man if I'd known the comments would matter, I really would've said a lot more on some of these tracks. Lemme me add to some of the missing ones:
Wario's Shipyard just screams a gritty underwater pirate setting. I mean it's a graveyard of shipwrecks. Might be the best fitting Wario music in the series. It certainly got done dirty in a way.
Bangkok Rush is just like any Tour theme, extremely unique sounding, and especially this one with its vast use of local Thai instruments. Enjoyed it a lot in Tour.
Daisy Hills. This may sound weird but if you try you can smell the breeze of fresh mountain air through the flutes in the music. I certainly can.
Wii Bowser's Castle kinda sticks out in a way as this Bowser's Castle doesn't really aim to sound either extremely chilling or overly bombastic, but rather goes for a more mysterious sounding piece.
It still has this haunting nature, similar to N64's and GCN's version, but there's also some determination in there. Like you can get out of this hellish place if you give it your all.
(Overall never thought about this track or any other much before until now. And it's actually really interesting how each Bowser's Castle sounds pretty similar, but has one distinct feature that sets it apart from the rest)
And Vanilla Lake...

Jk, Vanilla Lake has some nice use of the SNES soundchip for creating those frozen xylophone sounds to represent the frozen feeling. One of my favourite Super Mario Kart tracks.
Anyways this was a fun list to partake in, really hope we get to see more in the future!~

Also, there are frontrunning versions of Mario kart 7, 8, tour and 8 deluxe soundtracks. This can be heard if you are frontrunning (first place and very far away from 2nd) they do have minor differences, but you can tell
I don't know why, but there is just something about the original Toad's Turnpike song that just hypnotizes me. I know it isn't better than most of the series, but I just love it way more. It just sounds so nice to me.
