Toad’s Turnpike should have had Neo Bowser City music because the latter has the formers music included in it. I also think Wild Woods would’ve fitted Shy Guy Falls’ music best.
This seems like a great video idea to revisit once all the dlc tracks have been released, that would be a long and very hard process to swap 96 tracks, but I think it would be really cool to see. or maybe even just swap the dlc music with other dlc tracks
Particularly love the use of Ribbon Road on Toad Harbor! This is a great idea, I think at this point you’re the leading authority on Mario Kart music so you’ve pulled off an unexpected idea well
Water Park > Dolphin Shoals > DS Cheep Cheep Beach > Water Park Bowser’s Castle > Twisted Mansion > Wii Grumble Volcano > Bowser’s Castle N64 Toad’s Turnpike > Sunshine Airport > Super Bell Subway > N64 Toad’s Turnpike 3DS Music Park > Electrodrome > DS Wario Stadium > Excitebike Arena > GCN Baby Park > 3DS Music Park Mario Circuit > Mario Kart Stadium > N64 Royal Raceway > GBA Mario Circuit > GCN Yoshi Circuit > Toad Harbor > GBA Ribbon Road > Sweet Sweet Canyon > Animal Crossing > GCN Sherbet Land > Ice Ice Outpost > Shy Guy Falls > Thwomp Ruins > Hyrule Circuit > Cloudtop Cruise > Rainbow Road > N64 Rainbow Road > SNES Rainbow Road > 3DS Neo Bowser City > Mute City > Mount Wario > Big Blue > Mario Circuit Dragon Driftway > Bone-Dry Dunes > GCN Dry Dry Desert > GBA Cheese Land > SNES Donut Plains 3 > Wii Moo Moo Meadows > N64 Yoshi Valley > Wii Wario’s Gold Mine > DS Tick-Tock Clock > 3DS Piranha Plant Slide > 3DS DK Jungle > Wild Woods > Dragon Driftway I was not expecting Shy Guy Falls and Wii Wario's Gold Mine to be in separate loops, as well as N64 Toad's Turnpike and 3DS Neo Bowser City. I also thought you would close off the circuits by making GCN Yoshi Circuit have Mario Circuit.
I calculated the average match value of each cup: Mushroom: 3.75/5 Flower: 3.25/5 Star: 3.25/5 Special: 2.75/5 Shell: 4.25/5 Banana: 4/5 Leaf: 3.5/5 Lightning: 2.5/5 Egg: 3/5 Triforce: 3/5 Crossing: 2.25/5 Bell: 3.5/5
this autoplayed for me and i was 1/2 paying attention to the first few minutes, so i thought this was uploaded post BCP. i realized this didn’t have DLC courses once toad harbor popped up and i was predicting daisy circuit to play over it😂😂😂. if there was an update video to this including DLC, i think that would be an awesome video! this is an amazing video nonetheless!
What a fun exercise! I tried this out for myself and here's where I deviated from this video: I gave Mario Kart Stadium the music from GBA Mario Circuit because it sounds the most grandiose of the circuit themes. I gave Excitebike Arena the music from N64 Royal Raceway because it also originally played on the somewhat similar Wario Stadium. I gave GBA Ribbon Road the music from GCN Baby Park because of how well it conveys the energy of a room full of toys. I gave GCN Yoshi Circuit the music from Sweet Sweet Canyon because its bounciness fits well on a Yoshi course. I gave Sunshine Airport the music from Toad Harbor because it can give off vibes of traveling over the ocean. I gave Toad Harbor the music from Super Bell Subway because both courses have similar vehicular hazards. I gave GBA Cheese Land the music from GBA Ribbon Road due to their shared past resulting in a surprisingly decent fit. I gave GCN Baby Park the music from SNES Donut Plains 3 because of the "park" feeling its lead instrument gives off. I reversed to give Electrodrome the music from 3DS Music Park. I gave 3DS Piranha Plant Slide the music from DS Wario Stadium because I needed to close this loop somehow. I gave Wii Wario's Gold Mine the music from 3DS DK Jungle, the hardest music to swap tracks with IMO, because the minecarts sort of connect it with Donkey Kong. I gave 3DS Music Park the music from DS Tick Tock Clock because it could be seen as helping keep the instruments in time. I gave SNES Rainbow Road the music from Electrodrome because the hills in this version make it feel like a rave setting. I reversed to give Mute City the music from 3DS Neo Bowser City. I gave Ice Ice Outpost the music from Mount Wario because they're both icy courses affected by man. I gave Wild Woods the music from Shy Guy Falls because both courses involve boosting down a body of water at one point. I reversed to give Bone-Dry Dunes the music from Dragon Driftway. I gave Wii Grumble Volcano the music from GCN Dry Dry Desert because its feeling of despair fits well on a crumbling course. I gave Dragon Driftway the music from Bowser's Castle because it fits the epicness of racing on a dragon. I reversed to give GCN Dry Dry Desert the music from Bone-Dry Dunes to pair the realest desert course with the realest desert song. I gave N64 Yoshi Valley the music from GBA Cheese Land because both are cliffside courses that have, or had, rodents as hazards. I gave Shy Guy Falls the music from Wii Wario's Gold Mine because both songs use similar instruments. I gave DS Tick Tock Clock, the hardest course to swap tracks with IMO, the music from Thwomp Ruins because it's a weird song and I didn't know what else to do with it. I gave Super Bell Subway the music from 3DS Piranha Plant Slide mostly because it includes a riff of the classic underground theme. I gave Neo Bowser City the music from N64 Toad's Turnpike because the former is partially a remix of the latter. I gave N64 Toad's Turnpike the music from Mute City because of how F-ZERO-esque racing down a busy highway is, especially on 200cc. I gave DS Cheep Cheep Beach the music from Sunshine Airport because it can give off beachside resort vibes. I reversed to give Dolphin Shoals the music from Water Park. I reversed to give Water Park the music from DS Cheep Cheep Beach since it's the next-tamest water course. I gave Big Blue the music from Dolphin Shoals because both are saxophone-heavy songs played on water-heavy courses. I gave N64 Royal Raceway the music from Mario Circuit to pair up the only remaining circuit course and song. I gave Cloudtop Cruise the music from N64 Rainbow Road because it sounds the most grounded of the three Rainbow Road themes. I reversed to give N64 Rainbow Road the music from Rainbow Road. I gave Rainbow Road the music from SNES Rainbow Road because it sounds the most spacey of the other two Rainbow Road themes.
twisted mansion really fit on bowser's castle actually, especially if you consider most of the other bowsers castles in the series have more spooky music than intense music
I was trying to guess what all of them would be swapped with while watching and then Rainbow Road 8 comes up. "Electrodrome." *N64 RR plays* "Oh, you f-!"
yeah i was close to giving pirahna plant slide to big blue because of they are the 2 water slide tracks and your righttoad harbor and sunshine airport have similar music but it would be really good if you gave ribbon road to either one of them
The Thwomp Ruins track over Shy Guy Falls actually feels convincing in my opinion! I always felt that the two tracks had some sort of a similar vibe so I’d *personally* say it deserves at least a 4/5 stars. Amazing video by the way!
I feel like SNES Rainbow Road’s music would fit 8’s Rainbow Road more than N64’s Rainbow Road music. It has that more techno, spacey vibe to it compared to N64’s which would have fit perfectly with 8’a space station theming!
Twisted mansion does work with bowsers castle because bowsers castle on the n64 is very atmospheric and double dash sounds quite spooky, spooky BCS have been a thing
for some reason, the ribbon road song and toad harbor fit so well because it reminds me of paper mario and how ribbon road would be like a fight theme for a game in the series
Well giving Zelda track music to Thomp ruins isn’t a long shot since there has been times where Thomp-look and behavior alike enemies and even a literally Thomp boss in one of the handheld Zelda games, I believe it was Legend of Zelda Oracles and Ages.
Sunshine Airport and Animal Crossing are my favourite Mariokart 8 Deluxe tracks of all time, so hearing Sweet Sweet Canyon's theme over Animal Crossing was a bit weird. And don't get me started on hearing Sunshine Airport's theme over whatever the track was LOL (I forgot which track it was whoops🙃) but omg if that was a real thing... However, Toad Harbour's theme fit SO WELL with Yoshi Circut, and I think it would be a good fit for Ribbon Road to have Sweet Sweet Canyon's theme. And Mount Wario actually fit surprisingly well with Mute City, I can imagine that being the actual theme Oh yeah, and I think this was either Cheep Cheep Beach or Shy Guy Falls together, but they go really well Maybe they were paired with Cloudtop Cruise? I forgot lol
Mario Kart Stadium's theme over Mario Circuit is practically the same than leaving the original Mario Circuit theme. Play both themes at the same time and you'll realize they are have the same main base schema. An alternative theme for Shy Guy Falls is which sounds amazing with the Shy Guys SFX while they are working on the mines. Yoshi's Valley theme = crazyness because the racers are in the rush to find out the exit of the maze as soon as possible.
I feel like I agree with some of these but not all. The one I feel like could work that you didn't like is Electrodrome with Wario Stadium. You got all the boomboxes and with the techno feel i get from Wario could make it work well.
Cloudtop Cruise + Rainbow Road's music, 1/5? Yoshi Circuit + Toad Harbor's music 5/5? That's nearly the other way around! I would give Cloudtop Cruise + Rainbow Road a 4/5 and Yoshi Circuit + Toad Harbor a 2/5
Yeah I don't think Yoshi Curcuit fits with the Toad Harbour theme in the slightest- in my opinion Toad Harbour's theme gives more of a relaxing vibe, and Yoshi Circuit is a racetrack which is like the opposite of relaxing. Ocean being there doesn't mean it's relaxing, Yoshi Circuit barely has it. Really cool idea for a video though, most of my favourite MK8 songs are in the BCP though so I do wish those were included but it's not a big deal.
17:16 I don’t think this fits at all. Sherbet land is cozy. Maybe the winter Animal crossing one would fit. Ice ice outpost is very adventurous and wide open, practically the opposite of cozy.
I would love to see you do this again, but in two different ways when the DLC is done. 1. Do it exclusively between the 48 Booster Course Pass tracks. 2. Do it between all 96 tracks from the base game AND the Booster Course Pass, however, you have to put the base game songs on the Booster Course Pass tracks, and the Booster Course Pass songs on the base game tracks.
You missed the obvious one: -MK Stadium should've gotten Mario Circuit. (Nvm lol) -Toad's Turnpike should've gotten Neo Bowser City BC of the leitmotif.
Toad’s Turnpike should have had Neo Bowser City music because the latter has the formers music included in it. I also think Wild Woods would’ve fitted Shy Guy Falls’ music best.
Completely agree, when Toad’s Turnpike started I had anticipated Neo Bowser City to play, it’s a perfect fit
@@daken6427 same
I was actually confusing the neo bowser city theme as toads turnpike and figured it out once I finished every track on Mario kart 8
Yes Finally Everyone Agrees With Me
"There's no track that could fit Toad's Turnpike"
3DS Neo-Bowser City: Ya Sure?
Neo Boswer City would have fit with toad's turnpike, as it literally has it's theme
Yeah I was so shocked that it wasn’t lol
Erm actually it's Bowser🤓🤓🤓
2:46 I always thought that Wild Woods felt a lot like a Zelda track! It reminds me a lot of the Kokiri Forest or something along those lines lol.
This seems like a great video idea to revisit once all the dlc tracks have been released, that would be a long and very hard process to swap 96 tracks, but I think it would be really cool to see. or maybe even just swap the dlc music with other dlc tracks
The 3 water tracks swapped themes lmao
Particularly love the use of Ribbon Road on Toad Harbor! This is a great idea, I think at this point you’re the leading authority on Mario Kart music so you’ve pulled off an unexpected idea well
Yoshi Valley + Wario Gold Mine is crazy effective
Neo Bowser City for SNES Rainbow Road actually works really well honestly
Shy guy falls not being on warios gold mine is a major missed opportunity

Bone-Dry Dunes on Dragon Driftway was the best decision ever! Great Vid!

You should do all of the Booster Course
Pass Tracks once they all come out :D
Animal Canyon lookin‘ pretty good
This is such an interesting concept. I predicted about a third of what you would pick!
2:21 Called it, just popped into my head as soon as I saw the track, I knew it from the start.
I like how the music lines up with mario getting the coins on mario circuit. It is at the time 3:07. It was just peaceful to watch.
Maybe you should do another Tournament for all the Mario Kart Tracks, but NOT the song, only the tracks themselves

Can you make thus video but with the Booster Course pass themes as well?
I would have put toads turnpike over neo bowser city because one part of neo bowser city is literally toads turnpike music.
Twisted mansion does work with bowsers castle because bowsers castle on the n64 is very atmospheric and double dash sounds quite spooky, spooky BCS have been a thing
Petition to add 3 more stars for Wario Stadium/Waluigi Pinball on Electrodrome

Great Video!!! You should do a second part with the BCP tracks
This is a really cool video idea! I really like it! Keep up the good work, and I hope you can get to 10k soon!
Thanks very much!
I swear you and I must be playing different ears because I never heard SNES Rainbow Road sound THAT good, and also work that great for N64
Well giving Zelda track music to Thomp ruins isn’t a long shot since there has been times where Thomp-look and behavior alike enemies and even a literally Thomp boss in one of the handheld Zelda games, I believe it was Legend of Zelda Oracles and Ages.

Good video just sad there isn't a lot of people who appreciate you
Video was posted 1 month before wave 3 for the MK8DX BCP
You should have used the theme from GBA Sky Garden on Cloud Top Cruise
My opinion
Music Park over mute city
Tick clock over..hmm Music park?
If Waluigi Pinball got its own unique sondtrack, we could have done all 64 tracks
No joke, I actually thought that the dolphin shoals was the ACTUAL music for water park
If I could choose two tracks to switch tracks, I would 1000% say Wario Stadium and Exitebike, they just work PERFECTLY with each other for me
I thought that toads turnpike would have now bowser city in it lol, also dry dry desert is too dry for cheese land lol
Donut plains 3 actually suits Moo Moo Meadows Music! Soothing tbh
Yeah cause honestly thwomp ruins gives off Zelda temple vibes
Wario’s Gold Mine would’ve fit better with Shy Guy Falls
I listened with my fiancé who has little Mario Kart experience and your picks mostly held up better than you thought in her opinion
Mario kart stadium is now playable.
I honestly would’ve used SNES Rainbow Road music over Wii U Rainbow Road.
I’m kinda shocked at how well snes rainbow road fits n64 rainbow road
honestly i think the ribbon road music fits toad harbor better than it fits ribbon road
Should do this again but replace the tracks songs with the songs from retro themes like Wii or GBA.
Cloudtop Cruise + Rainbow Road's music, 1/5?
Yoshi Circuit + Toad Harbor's music 5/5?

swapping twisted mansion and boo lake is actually a really good idea
