UPDATE: One of the devs reached out with some helpful info about the sounds. 'You can actually change sound volume and what sound plays by customizing your shards in the forge. You can load em up, and click the button you want to change, and change the navigation (shard 1 2 and 3 at the top) as well as sound and or volume, I did a tutorial' ruclips.net/video/R_twXMeaHlE/видео.html
I can see the Game glass ecosystem becoming huge complete with custom MFD shards for a specific shipyard brand right down to a specific model of ship, vehicle and armor to weapon computer interface

I saw the shards blurb in the SC news letter. Interesting to see how the buttons respond real time, thanks for letting us see a hands on test. Might give Game Glass a look.
I tried this but it didn't work. Installed the pc client and phone app and connected both but when I press a button nothing happens except the button sound.
I used to play on a 30 mbps DSL connection while living in Alaska. 115 ms ping was standard and it was fine. Played for years like that. 30 down, 5 up was my speed. i would also watch youtube at the same time. no issues.
but can you use it to call ATC and request landing and takeoff? that is the one thing i would love to offload onto an external device. if it can't do that, i won't use it.
You can open up the friends list, but there is no direct button to call ATC. But that might be the games fault as there is no keybind to do that directly in game as far as I know?
@@tenpoundfortytwo there's not. and it's annoying. I guess i was hoping it would somehow emulate the MFD but i should have known better. that's really all i want. i hate calling ATC, it's such a pain, be it through the MFD or with the mobiglas.
Glad you tried it. I found the Fire tablet 8 inch works fantastic with a minimum of delay compared to my old galaxy 4, interfaces for phone and tablet are nice. No way to disable that darn beeb,. But I find it useful sometimes on the devices that do have a delay. I'm having a tough time getting my left joystick T16000m to even be recognized. Up vote for a discord channel. @@jimashby43 I was able to remove the beep on my PC by going into sound settings and going into app volume and device preferences and turning game glass all the way down
I could see the potential of GG and backed it on Kickstarter. My experience, even during the early days, was very good in both SC and Elite. The fact that they have the Forge in full development now that allows you to create your own shards (or download community created shards) for any game you want is a huge bonus. I'm also particularly happy that CIG and GG have officially partnered ... I'm excited to see where it goes after this first iteration on the shards. With respect to the delays between button press and registering that in-game, I'd asked about that because the delay had increased with the new SC shards (some of that just naturally has to do with the networking and processing power on the hardware (tablet) you're running it on). I was told by the devs that they had not yet done an optimization pass on the new shards but, that was planned.

I need a button to push, so that I can let out my frustration and hit the buttons many times when the quantum drive does not work. Touch screens does not satisfy my anger :-D Not really a friend of touch screens :-)
They are a bit shady how they market it and having to connect to their online server to use it. Very often everything breaks cause of this requirement.
You are correct! There have been a number of times over the years the entire thing doesn't work due to a connection fault to there server. I don't like that requirement!!!
It sucks CIG is allowing GameGlass access to some API, and not supporters. I'm sure there's many out there that like to get Star Citizen synched with their simpits.

What about the mining app, how sensitive is it to control the mining laser intensity, with the mouse it jumps all over the place.
There isn't a slider for laser intensity on the mining shard, but that might be something that you can customise using their software.

Yeah I'd definitely recommend giving it a go!
You can also lower the volume on windows side of it all under mixer settings i set it to 1

This application exists because the mouse controls in the game stink. Touch controls are the way to go to get around it.
If you play with a mouse what do you expect.
Generally may be useful for those who fly with sticks. For mouse+kb folks probably not worth it.

Not yet as far as I know, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's what they are aiming for.
