    Actually going through the worm hole looks awesome, but I really wish they kept the gates in. I dont know why they insist that it doesnt align with the lore. The UEE having gates around major jump points to open and close them and regulate things makes total sense to me. Not to mention the gates just look sick

    • @nixie2462
      @nixie2462 3 месяца назад +3

      As much as I like gates (because I grew up with StarGate) needing gates sort of invalidates the option of finding alternate routes or uncharted jump points. I mean, you could do both, but then it becomes sort of a gimmick, it's more consistent nedding OR not needing them but not both, and NOT having gates means you can have anything "anywhere".

    It seems like you're playing a very impressive and visually pleasing 3 minute loading screen minigame. That's not necessarily bad though. It properly conveys the idea of the systems being some distance away from eachother. You're incentivized to stay within a system unless you're absolutely certain that you want to go to another one. I just hope they don't make it so difficult that it just drains your attention span.

    I personally do not like it...tbh....looks good....but also looks like added stress. I never like the mobile phone running games era....and this feels like that. That was a twitchy ship in the grand scheme of things...what would a jump point that lets bengal carriers move around look like? It would have to be massive and crazy smooth...or I guess...bigger ships are going to have to handle much more like fighters....

      Bigger jumpdrives may make for larger, more stable jump tunnels.

      in the past they have said it was going to be longer than this...they also said you would only have to navigate the first minute or so before it auto locks and it takes over

      @@asaraphym802 Oh yeah, I forgot about the initial "lock in" stage. Well, as with anything it's still early and it'll prolly change 50 more times before they're done with it. Fingers crossed it's as compressed as it can be without trivializing the journey.

    So hitting the twisters in the tunnel has no effect?

    • @tenpoundfortytwo
      @tenpoundfortytwo  3 месяца назад +4

      It will cause the beeping and if you keep hitting enough/ the walls of the tunnel, eventually it will chuck you out of the jump miles from anywhere

    • @123Andersonev
      @123Andersonev 3 месяца назад

      probably has a hit count like 3 strikes and you're out.

    • @randlebrowne2048
      @randlebrowne2048 3 месяца назад +1

      Supposedly, hitting the walls or columns in the tunnel will cause distortion damage (the same as an EMP). That damage will build up over time with more collisions, eventually dumping your ship out at a random location in either your starting system or the destination one (depending on how far you made it into the tunnel.
      I saw one guy get yeeted to the far side of the system he started in after a failure.

    I love the sounds design... But what happened to the wormhole look? Now they look like movie-style black holes from the 90's. Very unappealing compared to the Interstellar-style wormhole bubble, seeming to warp in shape the closer you got to it. Now it's like other games where they have "gateways," and I was really excited to have a different look for this. The interior looks amazing, but I feel like they could make it bigger. I'm not familiar with the sizes, so unless this one is supposed to be a particularly small one, I'm a bit worried about how easy it seems to hit the walls.
