They won't 'focus on 1.0' at CitizenCon. They are in early planning for 1.0 and it will be a few years before we get to a release candidate for 1.0. CitizenCon this year is about Squadron 42.

Turn off the logical part of our brains. As in, you have to be a lobotomized copium sucking shill with no morals to push the delusion that 4.0 with the expected content as framed out by CIG over the past year is going to be out by CitizenCon. And it is a sad insult to try and push that. One of the major reasons those outside the core backers think of Star Citizen as a scam, is the empty promises and worthless shills trying to suck up to CIG marketing to push knowingly false narrative on what is coming and what is in the 'Persistent Universe' servers. Do I want the product that SC has been marketed as? Absolutely, would be great for entertainment. Am I going to swallow the lies and false narratives of what it is and the actual capabilities that CIG has shown to be capable of. Not a chance. I am not lobotomized like so many of the desperately emotionally dependent who can't even admit that there are massive issues with the tier 0 features currently available to test by the backers. As well as the completely absent major mechanics of the game code to allow for what has been promised.

It depends what they mean by 4.0 release, because if they mean it would go to evo/wave 1 , yeah it might be somewhat possible, but i don't count that as release. The people who have access to those stages are probably less than 1% of the player base. And since they most probably won't just drop 4.0 to the live servers without ptu/eptu runtime, then that's probably what they mean by 4.0 release, because currently we still have 3.24 in evo, not even wave 1 , and there's no wat that 4.0 will be in ptu for less than 2 months, i reckon it will be in ptu for a long time, longer than 3.18 even. So an actual 4.0 release wouldn't happen anytime soon, nevermind a playable state... I think next summer we'll have a somewhat stable 4.x

I am not holding my breath, but I do believe it will release around CitizenCon. Before or After does not really matter to me. I mainly want SQ42 released.

Server meshing is in the tech preview only available to evo. That feature still needs to be integrated in a PTU build which has to go through all the waves and then PU, not going to happen before CitizenCon

Many of the things we've seen in the past few years have been done, CIG doesn't want to put everything out to us and have no hype for later.

Since when did a 'release' mean working? CIG has dropped broken releases to Live PU many times. So yea they might 'release' 4.0 for CitCon

I think they want and hope to get 4.0 out before Citizen Con because as you said they don't want to do 4.0 reveals again for another Citizen con. It would also be kind weird to talk about things beyond 4.0 at Citizen con if 4.0 wasn't even out to begin with. Just whether or not they can do it still henges on server meshing though.

4.0 will not release before CitCon...not in any way that statement is intended. They might release something called 4.0 that has nothing or very little of what is expected from 4.0. There should be less "hopeful" and more people not pledging until they do what they've said they were going to do. They have an insane amount of money already.

We are basically getting one big buggy patch and a load of bs for the rest of the year. Until squadron is out that is not going to change. Despite them being supposedly run by different teams. I didn't fund Squadron.

I think it will be tough for cig to over-hype the commu like last year if they fail to deliver most of what they promise for 2024 and the confidence they show for speeding up the developement with the move from sq42 dev team to pu team will be difficult to equal... Why can't they just tell us : "Sorry the fusion of team is not as effective as we wanted and some tech are more complexe to bring in pu that we think"... We know making game is not easy and missing deadline are common but i suppose they prefer liying and showing confidence for the sake of the website shop
