For anyone needing to have this surgery I pray for peace of mind and complete healing for you. I just had this surgery and prior to having the surgery I was extremely nervous. The surgery was over before I knew it. I am 3 days post surgery and I am feeling pretty good. The first few days I was very sore. I highly reccomend getting a belly binder for compression and support. I am glad I had this surgery and I’m looking forward to no longer being in discomfort! If you’re considering this surgery, I highly recommend it if you have been having complications from fibroids. I know it may seem scary but the process is over before you know it and with the anesthesia you wake up not even realizing the surgery happened. Be blessed! God loves you!

Thank you! Mine is scheduled for July 1. I’ve been so scared, especially since this is my second surgery on the same fibroid but it came back. It wasn’t discovered until I became pregnant in Dec but miscarried Feb this year. Hopefully, this is it. Praying for a speedy recovery for you.
If you don’t mind me asking, what did the binder do for you?

Update? How are you feeling? I just had this done 2 days ago. We left the ovaries for hormone purposes. I still have about 15 years before menopause.

@@ashleyo.5251 I’m so sorry for your loss. I know that is rough and having to go through the surgery a second time is not easy. Now that I am on week 4 of recovery, I would not want to do this again. Have you tried diet changes? I want to do more research on this. I really don’t want to go through this again. It was much more than I anticipated.
The binder was helpful for me pushing out the gas post-surgery and it gave me back support getting in and out of bed. I was able to use less abdominal muscles with the binder on. It also just kept me feeling “tight” post-surgery. There were times when it also just made me feel uncomfortable and I would take it off.
Thank you for the prayers! 💕

@@Mercy4theMartyr I’m on week 4. I’m not going to lie the first few weeks were hard for me. I didn’t take enough time off work and I ended up deciding to take 6 weeks off. For some reason I really thought I could work from home after a week. Silly me! It was very hard for me to sit up straight without pain for awhile. I definitely underestimated the healing process. I was trying to move around too much and ended up with extremely bad cramps. I’m not sure if it was also a combination of my cycle starting. I literally felt like I was in labor. I know things are different for everyone but this was probably one of the most difficult things I’ve dealt with. I wasn’t mentally prepared to “sit and do nothing”. I do not want to do this again! It’s really motivated me to dig deeper into the cause. Removing them isn’t the solution it’s just a fix.
I do hope your recovery is going well and you are on the mend. What has been your experience?

For anyone going through this please DO your research. There’s too many in this comment section speaking carelessly about hysterectomy. This video is NOT a hysterectomy, nor do you need a hysterectomy because of fibroids. Fibroids can be removed with a surgery called MYOMECTOMY-which is what you see in the above video. Also, a myomectomy allows a woman to still have children. A HYSTERECTOMY is a worst case scenario, and is often only given to women who have had children and are older and don’t want more. A hysterectomy will prevent you from having a child, a myomectomy will not. Please read folks before taking comments to heart, and please know what you’re talking about before posting.

Ladies, if you are bleeding much longer than when your period should’ve ended, and you have constipation, get that endometrial biopsy. Mine hurts so much even though it was only 10 minutes. They found a fiberoid which explained the bleeding and abdominal pain.

My recovery time for my endometrial biopsy was just a couple of hours. I was just glad it was over. As for the surgery, I woke up and was fine. I was looking up this procedure and remembering mine because my cousin just had a hysterectomy and I was with her to help. She was really nervous about it and scared. She just turned 40 and was walking the next day!! Every day she has gotten stronger and was so relieved from her fears. Women can tolerate a great amount of pain and our bodies are so resilient. Had this done to me two days ago, and wanted to see an operation in “real time.”
The worst part for me is that the CO2 injected into the abdomen; my stomach is already slightly sore from the incisions for the laparoscopy tool, but the biggest discomfort is from the excess air they filled me with. My insides feel like they’re very airy, and thus I either at times feel like my insides aren’t secure or they feel very gassy. Except, I don’t have much gas, so I’m just bloated and dealing with this excess gas (not flatuance) from the surgery. But two days in and I’m already making progress, as my second night home I was able to sleep on my sides and I am able to walk around. I have no messy bathroom accidents.

I had a tubal ligation done in 2018. I understand completely about the air in you, it took 1 month for my body to be “normal”. But I had at the time mild stretch marks from pregnancy in 2012, it blew them back up like I was pregnant again. So even after that month the air was absorbed & released I suddenly had a saggy tummy & nasty red stretch marks. It took probably 6 months for them to firm & lighten up again. The funniest part was as soon as I woke up after surgery, I had “Madonna cone” boobs! I hope you’re doing & feeling better now!

Robotic Myomectomy is a fairly expensive process in Turkey. In addition, myomectomy surgery can be performed easily by laparoscopic method. Of course, the robotic method provides considerable convenience in fibroid surgery. However, when deciding on the method of surgery, it is very important to consider both the patient and the country's economy.

My doctor prescribed me Percocet for my pain. I did not feel any pain while on Percocet but I did experience dizziness and constipation. One of my biggest discomforts is the sourness in my throat from the breathing tube. Another discomfort is the lack of pelvic muscle control. As a pathologist practising for three decades I ask this humble question "why some colleagues still insist on calling uterine smooth muscle tumors fibroid not by the scientific nomenculature as we teach medical students of all levels, MYOMAS ?" I have my reply as a quotation from the late beloved pathologist Stanley Robbins MD, (rip), but rather not mention it... best wishes from the Labor Day, May 1st.

Better than hysterectomy. I am 2 years post hysterectomy, I lost my uterus and cervix. I have an absolutely numb upper part of my vagina, I have lost internal orgasms and orgasms through the clitoris are weak and unsatisfying without uterine contractions, I would be very grateful if someday a safe transplant of the uterus and cervix was possible for sexual purposes, not just for pregnancy. I'd give anything for that.
