Thank you, Sue! My maternal grandparents Albert and Irene Howard are buried there. They were killed in a lory accident in 1966, as was their dog Rebel. Rebel was buried at my grandfather's feet with beautiful statue likeness that was stolen sometime after my visit in 84. I'm American, mum was a warbride. My uncle who hosted me and took me to their grave has moved from London to Killileu, Ireland. Last spoke about 10 years ago.

I visited Highgate 30 years ago, it's a fascinating place. Loads of famous people in here. But I won't mention who so folks can watch your tour. And see what you find 👍
I lived at 7 highgate high street in the 70s. I had come over to do my SRN training with a bunch of lovely Irish gals. I spend some time in both sides of the cemeteries .. The west side wasn't even open then .. that's another story. When I came back in the 80s my friend and i spent two days at the cemeteries ..I am from Canada. The west side had bones coming out of a coffin in one of the masoleums in the circle of lebonnon and also there was a grave that was dug up by grave robbers.. yeeeekkkk YOu could actually see into those masoleums , now they are bricked up. The Beer one was open for public to go into in the 80s.. when I creeped around there in the 70s there was 2 -3 feet of pigion shit on the Beer's table top thingys .. the roof in there is made of gold
Wow how cool, I love taking a look into mausoleums and crypts, recently I looked in to a mausoleum in Dublin and saw a huge skeleton 😨 I filmed it because I was just in awe, I do have a little bit of a morbid side, I loved Highgate and the area around it too, very beautiful homes there, thanks for sharing x x
👏👏👏👏top number sue probably would need a week at least to explore.I know I said this before about cleaning up the cemeteries but looking at high gate some of the growth adds mystique and serenity(pardon the pun)to the area.Dangerous yes with that growth you could fall in a collapsed crypt or mausoleum.Anyway look after yourselves, take care stay safe, godbless you both from ballarat in Oz,👋👋🙏🙏👍🇦🇺
Going out tomorrow will watch GVs presentation when we come home. But yes you can learn a lot just strolling around looking at the different headstones some of which had the persons occupation on them,Take care, stay safe and healthy, god bless from ballarat in Oz,👋🙏👍🇦🇺

Ty for the tour of Highgate, gave ya a shout out on the Map Of Ireland site it showed the Rock Of Cashel..
Thanks Mary, the Rock of Cashel is amazing
Wonderful, Sue!

Thanks! Great video. Proud of how far you have come
Ahh thanks so much ❤️ really appreciate this 💓
👏👏👏👏top number sue probably would need a week at least to explore.I know I said this before about cleaning up the cemeteries but looking at high gate some of the growth adds mystique and serenity(pardon the pun)to the area.Dangerous yes with that growth you could fall in a collapsed crypt or mausoleum.Anyway look after yourselves, take care stay safe, godbless you both from ballarat in Oz,👋👋🙏🙏👍🇦🇺
I loved it Peter and loved the natural parts but I wouldstill like to be able to explore them too
Going out tomorrow will watch GVs presentation when we come home. But yes you can learn a lot just strolling around looking at the different headstones some of which had the persons occupation on them,Take care, stay safe and healthy, god bless from ballarat in Oz,👋🙏👍🇦🇺
I love that they write their occupation on the headstone it's great to see that
Can't wait, going in August
You'll do a great job on this ❤️
To highgate? Oh lucky you, you will so enjoy it but keep the whole day open for highgate alone ❤️
@@SerenitySueGraveyards I will thanks. I loved this. Especially the catacombs, they are sooo creepy! I'm got a bit of a free tour from your man there lol, what he was saying was very interesting! I didn't see till now you were also in kensal Green, I'll check that out next. Well done, I can't wait to visit ❤️
Kensal green and Brompton too, which will be out over next 2 weeks x
Love your channel Sue I do love seeing all the older stones/ statues. Did you know there are also loads of other celebs buried in Highgate cemetery.
Hi Jan I did know yes, thank you 😊
Its amazing the feel Highgate has on a person, one min, just wondering along, then the silence... If i win the euromillions Sue, i will buy you that glass house, great footage and video Thx.
Cheers Tom and if I win, I'll buy it and highgate too, we will have a huge meet up and wander the cemetery together, I can't explain Tom how I felt, I had pure excitement in my stomach, butterflies and even though I was so full of all of that, I felt such peace here, if I could only bottle that feeling ❤️ have you visited Tom?
@@SerenitySueGraveyards yes i have been there before and a camera cannot capture the size of the place, and off the beaten track i would so much love to wonder really xxx
It would take weeks if not longer to discover everything here
