was debating on the track or touring for weeks. I finally settled on the touring and its en route! 2nd mod after APR stage 1 and TCU tunes. Was leaning track most of the way, but car is a DD and that swayed me to the touring in the end. can't wait to see how it plays out
You won't be disappointed! If you need just a tad more sound after you install it, it's just all the more reason to get a downpipe and go after more power! Or convert the exhaust to track!
@@BMPTuning got any thoughts on the next mod from there? I was looking at a new intake, but want most of the noise coming from the exhaust. APRs carbon fiber intake looked pretty good to me. thoughts / suggestions? also are new inlet pipes worth it? haha i know thats a lot of questions, but im swimming with all the info as I enter this new space of modding
@@rmheat22 Intake on these GTIs is a great idea! Most of us here love a loud intake and turbo noise, so any of the open intakes like APR, or MST will be great! An inlet will do more than an intake will performance-wise, but both of these things will be more for noise initially, the performance benefits aren't really there until you tune, as the stock air box does a great job already! Depending on your car, we highly recommend first doing the most noticeable mods! For manuals specifically, a short shifter can make a huge difference. On these GTIs in particular, we recommend a rear sway bar, and dogbone inserts! The rear sway bar will be extremely noticeable in turns, while the inserts will help put the power to the ground from a dig, and prevent wheel hop! An intercooler is generally a good idea as well, especially if you live where it is warmer most of the year! @rmheat22 What decided your decision? The track sounds throatier but Touring has the anti drone technology, don't know how valid that question is, considering mine is mostly a Sunday,Fun day car.
Track sounds deeper and louder. Similar to my muffler and resonator delete on my 1.8 A3. Then installed a 14 inch proformance resonator. I started with the muffler delete but sound didn't change much.
How does the sound differ on a cold start between stock and touring? I don't want to add a lot of volume and or resonance on cold start. I installed a corksport axle back exhaust on my Mazda 6 i had previously and that system replaced the muffler with resonators. Sounded good when driving with no drone, but drove me crazy with how much resonance it had on startup. It would make the garage feel like it was vibrating and was noticeable in the house too, so it woke people up since I go to work early.
Well, one is valved and one isnt... so really it should depend on whether you want to keep the valves. But I would say that you wont be disappointed either way in sound!
You do NOT need a tune at all for this exhaust or any other catback! Take a look at Milltek on our site as well (on sale right now!) Either way we got you!
Why does it sound like touring was louder than track 😅 I’m having a hard time tryna find things to put in my MK8 cuz these RUclips videos only make me more indecisive 🤦🏽♂️ I’m about to just muffler & resonator delete with a 3in pipe instead of the 1&1/2 inch stock pipes cuz paying all that money for an exhaust that barely makes a difference in sound is crazy
It does seem like that on camera, but it is a good bit quieter. The sound isn’t quite as deep as track and has less of a droning sound to it. Touring inside the car is mainly just engine noise, and it gives a much “cleaner” exhaust note when you hear it from outside. The track is not a super loud setup, definitely a quite a bit louder than stock and touring though. Hope this helps!
Do you have the cobb titanium? I can't find much info about it or clips of people who have it. I just want to know if it retains the burbles that the stock exhaust makes in sport mode
finally a good exhaust video... definently gonna save up for the touring.
Sounds great, not over the top with a throaty and deep tone
Thanks for doing the side by side at the end, I was watching, wonderinghow to see them close together to compare all three, you did it for me!

touring is the way to go

@BMPTuning I read AM downpipes can cause drivability, emissions and CEL issues.
what other mods does the car have? the intake noises sound so nice
and the turbo noises
Neuspeed intake and Forge BOV!
Nice editing job Coleman!!
Touring sounds so good 👌
Awesome exhaust note.
Question what shift knob is that ? Looks good !
It is a Black Forest Industries knob!

Muffler delete cars never sound good. They sound cheap. This is the complete opposite of that sound.

what short throw shifter is that ?
We installed an APR short shifter on this customers car, part number MS100103!
Does the exhaust get quieter when put into eco/comfort compared to sport or is it the same for all?
Should be the same for all, the GTI does not have exhaust valves like the Golf R does!
Any drone on either exhaust ?? I see it’s a muffler delete with a smaller resonator.
Depends on your idea of drone, but the track will generally have some drone as would any nearly straight pipe exhaust system for our cars!

Most are loud on startup to be honest, but the Touring would be what you would want if you were trying to ensure the quietest cold starting.

@@julianortega8817 Milltek's exhaust is valved, AWEs is not, both are similarly loud though (when valves are open on the Milltek).
Does it have a blow off valve? If so could you please tell me which one it is?
That was a customer car, but i don't think it had one at the time of filming this video.
One of my few complaints about the car, stock exhaust drone at highway speeds... Looking forward to a exhaust upgrade souly to eliminate the droning.
The Touring isnt bad, Road+ from Milltek is also nice.
What size wheel spacer?
That I do not know off hand!
How did you have the fogs light turned on with just the daytime running lights on?

This generation motor sounds way better than the mk7 however I still can't get over that ugly interior
