      Looks like there has been a boardroom battle and Omar Berrada won. This happens in all corporate boardrooms and United's boardroom is no exception. The reality is that what happens at United's boardroom will be amplified a thousand fold by the media. Yes, I agree that bringing in Gareth Southgate who has only previously managed Middlesbrough (no disrespect to Middlesborough) is a disaster in the making. I am wondering why Asworth was employed before Berrada took office. A logical approach would be to employ Berrada first and let him pick his own team.

    The temerity of Ratcliffe though, to say that ticket prices have to rise in order to raise money to improve the first-team squad...when all the hierarchy are doing is wasting tens of millions of pounds by hiring & firing managers and senior staff like this. It's an absolute disgrace that regular supporters are being made to carry the can for these inept decisions at the top of the tree.

Obviously he didn't get Southgate but the alternative was that they kept ten hag signed a ton of players for ten hag and then fired him too 3 months in the season.     Gary will always have a dramatic reaction, but honestly if the guy just wasn't impressing I don't mind the ruthlessness. He's going around interviewing Thomas Frank and Marco Silva while Ratcliffe is wondering where the efficiency is. Then he's not involved with hiring Amorim and started pushing Southgate. The chemistry clearly wasn't right. I guess this is the problem when you throw a directorship together without anyone meeting each other.

Rangnick said we needed open heart surgery and was sacked for it, I think this affected ETHs media interviews which contributed to him losing his job, now Amorin is saying its going to be a long road... and people appreciate his honesty? How's that different to what ralf essentially said? I actually don't think it's as bad is it seems, I'm puzzled by some of Amorins decisions so far but he's new and his records amazing so I'm sure he can turn it around.

    Chase him for weeks in Jan ('Best in class' SJR ‘words ) , served 5/6 months of gardening leave while negotiating a fee with Newcastle in the millions , finally starting his role in July (god knows what he wears earning at United )only to last 5 months in the role and mutually depart. This either has something to do with his input into re signing ETH in the summer or the club vision clashes or something unrelated to football .
    optics is really bad considering they are putting up the prices of tickets but yet wasting millions in compensation on appointments that could of been avoided seems heavily self inflicted and showing signs of incompetence at board/sporting level.

      When you call a meeting at 8:00pm on a Saturday night and issue a short boilerplate statement, there is no way it was "by mutual consent". They spent months recruiting Ashworth, paid him (and Newcastle) millions, and he's gone in 5 months? The club, staff, and supporters have every right to know why.

    I think Dan Ashworth was brought in to revive the current situation of the players and management team and now the board is realizing that it needs to be completely rebuilt…total overhaul and i expect a lot more players to be moving on asap! Means losing big names on big contracts.

    Maybe Ruben coming onboard highlighted the problem with Ashford, i.e. I recall in one interview he mentioned having data on players as very important. JR being scathing of the data operation just reinforces that theory.
