👉Test #1 Conductor resistance test. Set your ohm reader to 200k and connect to each wire lead on heated cable. Ohm reading should be within 10% of factory setting (label on end of wire should have this indicated).
👉Test #2 Conductor to ground test. Set your ohm reader to the "buzz sound" indicator and connect to ground braid and to each cable lead. If there is a buzz sound, something is wrong. Contact manufacturer of this problem for a replacement wire.
👉Test #3 Floor temperature sensor test. Set ohm reader to 20k and get a room temperature reading. Compare readings with warranty form that comes with the cables.
Perform these tests at the following times:
1. On the roll when you first get the wires
2. After you set wires throughout room
3. After tile is installed

Thanks man! After 5 vlogers and one article finally someone showed how to connect it to the meter. 🙏🏻
Thanks!
so clear and helpful, thanks!
Great tips! Thanks, Steve!
thank you👍
Ty great video
I am at the same point in my masterbath remodel. Just installed the Ditra heat cabling and the temperature sensors for the floor only. Next is my floor tile layout this weekend.
Are you going with curbless shower too?
@@BathroomRemodelingTeacher No, I stuck with a KBRS Showerslope. Replaced my hall bathroom with KBRS so I stuck with it in the master bathroom. Next house after I retire will be curbless.
More helpful than the instructions provided. Thanks
how are you going to run the cables with all that thinset in the channels?
Great to see the new channel taking-off Steve!
So I get a buzzer between black cable and ground, floor is already in place, wire in the wall...... any recommendations?
👏
I have a red light going off on my teacher heat system. The certified electrician used a wire nut on the ground wire. I had a guy tell me that the wire nut does not hold up well to a braided ground and a hard wire ground. Will that cause the red light to go off?
Whats the lineal feet of the cable?
Read units not just the numbers to make the video more useful. Maybe elaborate on the significance of these reading such as the ohms resistance!
👍
No megohmmeter testing?
That would extend warranty. But i know most will not rent or get one. I barely have the time for that one. But yes, a better way to go 👍
@@BathroomRemodelingTeacher Fantastic video!!! what setting on the multimeter to test resistance? what setting to use for the continuity? Thanks!!!
Slow down Dude ! Plz
Don't do a video if you you're not actually showing and explaining stuff. I can't explain how frustrating this was
