I believe the developers went with the you choose saving the town over chloe, cause if i remember correctly everyone she's "hanging out" with are all the people that were supposed to die by the storm in the first game yet they're alive and well, unless they come how retcon everyone back to life by saying max has already went to an alternate world where no one died from the storm and chloe was saved as well but who knows at this point, the LIS timeline confuses the shit out of me already as it is.

It’s not right to assume everyone stays the same when they were younger but do facial features change that much? I genuinely am curious cause I know it’s different for everyone. Personally I think I look the same just my freckles have sadly faded over the years but some have came back and some new ones have appeared and my well defined Cupid bow has sadly become more rounded. @@Catto69 There is actually 2 versions of that scene. One has David talk with Joyce on the phone and the other has him talk to Chloe. Since both those scenes can play out, depending on the ending you got, it means neither is technically the canon one. Though that may be subject to change, depending on what they do with this game. Hell, if they're playing with multiple universes in this game they could probably claim both endings (save Chloe and save Arcadia) are canon in a way.

This caught me completely off guard. It's rare for this to happen now & days. Getting a surprise announcement of such a beloved franchise. With it being a direct sequel to the one that started it all. I cannot wait till October to dive into this one. It's gonna feel like a long wait... lol
I love that we all as a community are so excited, will wait til october together, be addictet for a day or two and live, laugh and suffer with Max until we come around on the other side and gather again to share the rollercoaster of emotions we will have had. There wasn't any real leaks, yet i've heard many people saying with certainty, that the next LiS will be with Max... never believed it, but here we are. Just makes it more odd, as a couple weeks ago, i've been saying to Hannah Telle (Max VA) how cool it would be, if there was another LiS with Max, set in todays time with her in her 30's now. Was first talked about a few months before the Remastered collection was even announced. Came from a "play tester". But it was so outlandish at the time. Then back in Feb this year it happened again with more details like the cat. So it was leaked. But most of us took it with a mountain of salt because we thought Deck9 didn't have the balls for it. Never have I felt so good being wrong lol. I'm so excited for this.

Well, maybe this takes place in the ending where you decide to sacrifice Chloe, just like the comics where the story continues in the timeline where Chloe is alive. This does not mean that Chloe is dead in the "cannon"
The insider that leaked the exact plot of this game over 2 years ago mentioned everything we saw on that trailer. Well, the same leak mentioned that Chloe will appear in this game. But they didn't say at what capacity her appearence would be (a mere cameo or a more active role)
In the comic series, it takes place in the world where Max sacrificed Arcadia Bay and Chloe survived. She also discovered new sides to her powers and traveled to a parallel universe where Rachel Amber didn't die and she and Chloe live in L.A. Max and Chloe came back together in their world and live in the new Arcadia Bay (for those who have read the comic, you know 😉)❤️ And now we see the world where Max sacrificed Chloe. I'm still speechless because I didn't expect that at all because but I'm still looking forward to it 🙏❤
Yeah, that is why in this game Max is trying to avoid saving her friend like she tried to do with Chloe in the first game. If she were to do that, then a new storm or disaster would spawn up. Instead, Max is trying to solve her murder. And she will accomplish that by jumping to another timeline where she is still alive.

I thought I was the only one lmao. I thought it was a completely different person from the thumbnail. It was only after hearing her voice and seeing the clarification that it was indeed her that it clicked. I can understand not recognising someone when they get older of course but in this case she just looks too different. Hopefully it won't distract me too much cause I am looking forward to playing this.

Why lol? Chloe is a terrible friend and a really selfish person. Also used Max like a toy in the first game when discovered her powers and get mad if you dont agree with everything she throws at you. Max is way better without her. I hope this game follows the Chloe dies ending. Really like Max and would really be nice if Kate is alive and doing well because Max saved her.

I was starting to think we'd never get another one. True Colors was my favorite Life is Strange entry to date, but it was so long ago now. I'm very excited for this!
@@husseinosman4342 Heavily disagree. True Colors felt like the point where the games finally became what they always wanted to be. LiS1 and LiS2 had far more cringe (especially in relation to dialogue). Deck Nine just understands how to do these games in a way DONTNOD ironically didn't. That being said, I still love both LiS1 and LiS2, but they aged poorly compared to True Colors. I'm excited to see what Deck Nine does with a post-LiS1 Max.
Alright. I had to reflect this for a few minutes but I think I'm gonna play it. The first game ans Before the Storm meant so freaking much to me - it really changed my life in some sort of way. And I hope, I really hope there will be a parallel world where on the one side you can go through the adventure with Warren and on the other side with Chloe. That would just make me unbelievable happy.
So excited about this game. I just finished Life Is Strange 1 a few weeks ago and still can't get over it. Makes me happy to have Max back. Life is good with this news
max caulfield is such an intriguing character, because anyone in her shoes would try to become a millionaire or be famous among her classmates or find well hidden secrets. Trying to save Chloe from death itself and even trying to solve the mystery of Rachel Amber's disappearance showed how much she genuinely cares about others.
I wonder if this game will explain not only her powers better but also why she has them. All these games the main character has this unexplainable power they’re unsure where it originated. That’d be interesting to find out. Especially since I think they teased it a lot in the original game
well, in life is strange 2, with the brothers, there were easter eggs according to your decisions made in the first game, i hope they do it now too (i saved chloe, i wanna see her again)

@@djjones4705 they've been pretty good for taking both timelines into consideration in previous games; LIS2 had Arcadia Bay either safe or destroyed and David at the end either mourning Chloe or the town and his wife, while the wavelengths dlc for LIS:TC had versions of Steph for both outcomes. I'd hypothesize that for this they just don't want to commit to a single timeline nor have to create pretty much two separate games, with Chloe and without, so they'll ask which you chose to save and for the Bae reality Chloe will be off somewhere else
We all know that Max accomplished the power of changing timelines, and I believe that in one reality she sacrificed the town, and in the other one she sacrificed Chloe. I have two theories based on the timeline the player chose to start. For understanding purposes, if I’m talking about the character from the main reality I will just mention their names (i.e Max), but if I’m talking about the character from the second reality, I will say their names with a D - for double - in front (i.e MaxD). Also, for the main reality, I will say reality 1, and for the second reality, I will say reality 2. 1 - If the player chose to sacrifice Chloe in the first game: On the dialogue between Safi and Max, Max can say that Chloe and her were just highschool sweethearts or just friends - so, she’s not still with Chloe because this is the reality (reality 1) where Chloe is dead. When Safi is killed, Max shifts to the other reality where ChloeD is still alive (reality 2). In that, we can see that every character has its “double” in reality 2, but the point is: where is Max’s double? Here comes the main plot. MaxD also shifts reality, and she’s the one that killed Safi in reality 1. But why? MaxD has to save ChloeD again, and for that, she has to kill Safi. In the game, Max will figure out why her double killed Safi, and why Safi’s life in reality 1 harmed the existence of ChloeD in reality 2. It is plausible, because MaxD already sacrificed the whole town for ChloeD, so why wouldn’t she sacrifice another life from a different reality to save ChloeD again? Also, I believe that in reality 2, SafiD also exists and she’s MaxD friend. It is possible that, for killing Safi in reality 1, MaxD would also save SafiD’s life. That’s because only one Safi and one Chloe could be alive for balancing the realities (I will explain more of balancing realities in the second theory). 2 - If the player chose to sacrifice the town in the first game: Max sacrificed the town to save Chloe - therefore Chloe is still alive in that reality, they’re just not together anymore. So in reality 1, Safi and Chloe are alive. Starting from that, MaxD, from reality 2, chose to sacrifice ChloeD to save the town, so ChloeD is not alive and SafiD is. Still, MaxD is the one that killed Safi in reality 1, because she has to keep both realities equivalent: In one reality, Chloe has to be alive and Safi has to die, and in the other one, SafiD has to be alive and ChloeD has to die. If MaxD didn’t keep both realities equivalent, Safi and Chloe would die in both of the realities naturally. So MaxD saved both of their lives by killing Safi. That explains the first game too; Chloe and ChloeD almost died in the first game several times, and that’s because Safi and SafiD were alive in the same realities. Final conclusion: Only one Chloe and only one Safi can be alive at the same time, so MaxD killed Safi to balance realities and stop the death of Chloe and Safi in both realities. Depending on what happened in the first game, there are two options of endings: Chloe alive in one reality and Safi alive in another, or Chloe and Safi alive in the same reality.
In an alternate universe this game would have an M. Night Shyamalan twist where the murderer is a version of Chloe who is trapped between worlds because of Max messing with time and is seeking revenge on Max while also hoping to use her friend as a replacement for her own death to set herself free.
How do we know that? The devs ended up picking the Chloe ending plus the comic series focused on them. Atleast that’s what it seemed, since I haven’t seen them say the comics aren’t canon

Also, 1:30 kinda looks like Rachel Amber, probably isn't though, unless she randomly shows up in the alternate timeline, or something? I know she does in the comics, so I guess it's possible that she might if it's set in the same place as the comics.

I can't say I'm really happy about it. The Max model, logically, has grown, but I don't like it too much. The very beginning of the trailer is "I promised not to use my powers again" and it directly follows the same BUT! Her friend died!!! God, she's definitely going through this for the first time! She decides to use her powers to uncover and prevent this. And, apparently, her life did not teach her anything at all after the end of the first part. I wouldn't even be surprised if everything is OK this time and there won't be any storm, cause we're not saving Chloe!

Except that Max is not trying to use her rewind powers to save her friend. She is instead trying to solve her murder by jumping to another timeline. So you would be wrong about Max not learning about her mistakes in the fist game. She is trying to avoid another storm or disaster. That's why she says that she had avoided using her powers.

And that changes how she goes about using them to prevent another disaster. Your logic about this is like saying that Terminator 2 is the same movie as Terminator 1. Because a terminator goes after John Connor. But its not the same movie. In the first one, the heroes didn't know what they were up against. That changed with the 2nd movie. Which resulted in a much different experience and plotline. But you do you. If you feel like this is more of the same, then avoid this game, all the God of War games about fighting gods or demigods, all the Mario games about a plummer saving a Princess or her kingdom and any new The Last of Us games that comes along dealing about fighting infected and people looking for cures and whatnot. The all use basic concepts that expand on it. But according to you, they don't do that at all. So... play Fortnite? There's only one of that one that keeps adding new stuff to it.

Если честно, спустя столько лет первая игра смотрится намного интереснее новой части :( Сейчас время «2,5D» анимации и графики. Мне, как художнику, первая LiS была не только интересна, но ещё и эстетически приятна. Дневник Макс, Граффити Хлои в LiS:BtS. Сами персонажи выглядели очень приятно. Особенно мне нравились детали в виде фотографий в кабинете Джефферсона, в комнате Кейт/Макс/Хлои/Виктории/Нейтона. Это были рисунки, но они выглядели настолько хорошо и живо! Удивляюсь до сих пор! Но новая часть.. Просто реалистично скучная. Да, разрешения и анимация стала лучше, но.. при этом сама игра будто утратила жизнь? Я бы не узнала Макс если бы ту не назвали по имени. Она совершенно не похожа на себя! Герой не узнаваем. Единственное, что её связывает с собой из прошлого - фотографии. Да, прошло много лет и вы можете сказать мне что за такой промежуток времени она могла стать совершенно другой. Но, imho, хотим мы того или нет, некоторые привычки остаются с нами на всю жизнь. Они и делают нас собой. В новой Макс я такого не ощущаю. Я - большой фанат LiS. Я согласна с тобой! Первая и вторая части самые лучшие! Я даже третью допройти не смогла, сюжет и способность с эмоциями были очень скучными. А братья диасы в моем сердце навсегда, в этой игре тонна разветвлений сюжета и вариаций выборов, в третьей части их просто сократили до двух. Судя по новой части - просто копия первой. А я ждала что то новое, например, с телепортацией, главным героем мужчиной или ребенком, что то новое!
Playing the very first Life is Strange was absolutely peak for me, the narrative storyline was written extremely well and seeing her return once again makes me genuinely happy!

@@Catto69 There is actually 2 versions of that scene. One has David talk with Joyce on the phone and the other has him talk to Chloe. Since both those scenes can play out, depending on the ending you got, it means neither is technically the canon one.
Though that may be subject to change, depending on what they do with this game. Hell, if they're playing with multiple universes in this game they could probably claim both endings (save Chloe and save Arcadia) are canon in a way.

There wasn't any real leaks, yet i've heard many people saying with certainty, that the next LiS will be with Max... never believed it, but here we are. Just makes it more odd, as a couple weeks ago, i've been saying to Hannah Telle (Max VA) how cool it would be, if there was another LiS with Max, set in todays time with her in her 30's now. She just agreed and said she would love to be back. And now i see this.

In the comic series, it takes place in the world where Max sacrificed Arcadia Bay and Chloe survived. She also discovered new sides to her powers and traveled to a parallel universe where Rachel Amber didn't die and she and Chloe live in L.A. Max and Chloe came back together in their world and live in the new Arcadia Bay (for those who have read the comic, you know 😉)❤️ And now we see the world where Max sacrificed Chloe. I'm still speechless because I didn't expect that at all because but I'm still looking forward to it 🙏❤

If she were to do that, then a new storm or disaster would spawn up.
Instead, Max is trying to solve her murder. And she will accomplish that by jumping to another timeline where she is still alive.

It was only after hearing her voice and seeing the clarification that it was indeed her that it clicked. I can understand not recognising someone when they get older of course but in this case she just looks too different. LiS1 and LiS2 had far more cringe (especially in relation to dialogue). Deck Nine just understands how to do these games in a way DONTNOD ironically didn't. That being said, I still love both LiS1 and LiS2, but they aged poorly compared to True Colors. I'm excited to see what Deck Nine does with a post-LiS1 Max.
Alright. I had to reflect this for a few minutes but I think I'm gonna play it. The first game ans Before the Storm meant so freaking much to me - it really changed my life in some sort of way. And I hope, I really hope there will be a parallel world where on the one side you can go through the adventure with Warren and on the other side with Chloe. That would just make me unbelievable happy.

max caulfield is such an intriguing character, because anyone in her shoes would try to become a millionaire or be famous among her classmates or find well hidden secrets. Trying to save Chloe from death itself and even trying to solve the mystery of Rachel Amber's disappearance showed how much she genuinely cares about others.
So it seems the devs took inspiration for her powers from Max's comics story in which she timeline hops to keep herself from being unalived

@@djjones4705 they've been pretty good for taking both timelines into consideration in previous games; LIS2 had Arcadia Bay either safe or destroyed and David at the end either mourning Chloe or the town and his wife, while the wavelengths dlc for LIS:TC had versions of Steph for both outcomes. I'd hypothesize that for this they just don't want to commit to a single timeline nor have to create pretty much two separate games, with Chloe and without, so they'll ask which you chose to save and for the Bae reality Chloe will be off somewhere else

We all know that Max accomplished the power of changing timelines, and I believe that in one reality she sacrificed the town, and in the other one she sacrificed Chloe. I have two theories based on the timeline the player chose to start.
For understanding purposes, if I’m talking about the character from the main reality I will just mention their names (i.e Max), but if I’m talking about the character from the second reality, I will say their names with a D - for double - in front (i.e MaxD). Also, for the main reality, I will say reality 1, and for the second reality, I will say reality 2.
1 - If the player chose to sacrifice Chloe in the first game:
On the dialogue between Safi and Max, Max can say that Chloe and her were just highschool sweethearts or just friends - so, she’s not still with Chloe because this is the reality (reality 1) where Chloe is dead.
When Safi is killed, Max shifts to the other reality where ChloeD is still alive (reality 2). In that, we can see that every character has its “double” in reality 2, but the point is: where is Max’s double?
Here comes the main plot. MaxD also shifts reality, and she’s the one that killed Safi in reality 1. But why?
MaxD has to save ChloeD again, and for that, she has to kill Safi. In the game, Max will figure out why her double killed Safi, and why Safi’s life in reality 1 harmed the existence of ChloeD in reality 2. It is plausible, because MaxD already sacrificed the whole town for ChloeD, so why wouldn’t she sacrifice another life from a different reality to save ChloeD again?
Also, I believe that in reality 2, SafiD also exists and she’s MaxD friend. It is possible that, for killing Safi in reality 1, MaxD would also save SafiD’s life. That’s because only one Safi and one Chloe could be alive for balancing the realities (I will explain more of balancing realities in the second theory).
2 - If the player chose to sacrifice the town in the first game:
Max sacrificed the town to save Chloe - therefore Chloe is still alive in that reality, they’re just not together anymore. So in reality 1, Safi and Chloe are alive.
Starting from that, MaxD, from reality 2, chose to sacrifice ChloeD to save the town, so ChloeD is not alive and SafiD is.
Still, MaxD is the one that killed Safi in reality 1, because she has to keep both realities equivalent:
In one reality, Chloe has to be alive and Safi has to die, and in the other one, SafiD has to be alive and ChloeD has to die. If MaxD didn’t keep both realities equivalent, Safi and Chloe would die in both of the realities naturally. So MaxD saved both of their lives by killing Safi.
That explains the first game too; Chloe and ChloeD almost died in the first game several times, and that’s because Safi and SafiD were alive in the same realities.
Final conclusion:
Only one Chloe and only one Safi can be alive at the same time, so MaxD killed Safi to balance realities and stop the death of Chloe and Safi in both realities. Depending on what happened in the first game, there are two options of endings: Chloe alive in one reality and Safi alive in another, or Chloe and Safi alive in the same reality.
In an alternate universe this game would have an M. Night Shyamalan twist where the murderer is a version of Chloe who is trapped between worlds because of Max messing with time and is seeking revenge on Max while also hoping to use her friend as a replacement for her own death to set herself free.

In the first one, the heroes didn't know what they were up against. That changed with the 2nd movie. Which resulted in a much different experience and plotline.
But you do you. If you feel like this is more of the same, then avoid this game, all the God of War games about fighting gods or demigods, all the Mario games about a plummer saving a Princess or her kingdom and any new The Last of Us games that comes along dealing about fighting infected and people looking for cures and whatnot. The all use basic concepts that expand on it. But according to you, they don't do that at all. So... play Fortnite? There's only one of that one that keeps adding new stuff to it.
@@TatankaTaylor its the exact same concept, if it wasn't Max again trying to save a friend who I bet in every episode will almost die but we have to save her. the power is new, but the concept is the same old thing. Would of been way cooler if Max was maybe a mother and saving a child or saving her own mother, maybe giving us more than the same boring storyline but its always Max saving a friend and because of this I already know how this will end. I will let the friend die like Chloe because you can't change fate, bad things suck but you can't change fate.

Я ужасно расстроена.. Если честно, спустя столько лет первая игра смотрится намного интереснее новой части :(
Сейчас время «2,5D» анимации и графики. Мне, как художнику, первая LiS была не только интересна, но ещё и эстетически приятна. Дневник Макс, Граффити Хлои в LiS:BtS. Сами персонажи выглядели очень приятно. Особенно мне нравились детали в виде фотографий в кабинете Джефферсона, в комнате Кейт/Макс/Хлои/Виктории/Нейтона. Это были рисунки, но они выглядели настолько хорошо и живо! Удивляюсь до сих пор!
Но новая часть.. Просто реалистично скучная. Да, разрешения и анимация стала лучше, но.. при этом сама игра будто утратила жизнь?
Я бы не узнала Макс если бы ту не назвали по имени. Она совершенно не похожа на себя! Герой не узнаваем. Единственное, что её связывает с собой из прошлого - фотографии.
Да, прошло много лет и вы можете сказать мне что за такой промежуток времени она могла стать совершенно другой. Но, imho, хотим мы того или нет, некоторые привычки остаются с нами на всю жизнь. Они и делают нас собой. В новой Макс я такого не ощущаю.
Я - большой фанат LiS. Я была абсолютно уверена что если выйдет какое-либо продолжение с моими любимыми персонажами - я обязательно пройду его одна из первых. Но увидев это.. Я чувствую разочарование..
ОЧЕНЬ хочу дать шанс новой части, но покупать игру раньше релиза я не стану.
Буду надеяться что моё мнение изменится после просмотра прохождения у кого-нибудь🦋
Я согласна с тобой! Первая и вторая части самые лучшие! Я даже третью допройти не смогла, сюжет и способность с эмоциями были очень скучными. А братья диасы в моем сердце навсегда, в этой игре тонна разветвлений сюжета и вариаций выборов, в третьей части их просто сократили до двух. Судя по новой части - просто копия первой. А я ждала что то новое, например, с телепортацией, главным героем мужчиной или ребенком, что то новое!
Playing the very first Life is Strange was absolutely peak for me, the narrative storyline was written extremely well and seeing her return once again makes me genuinely happy!
