I'm a huge Arch manning fan now after this season. I read a rumor he will stay with Texas, and hopefully go to the Cowboys. That would be the story of magic.
Payton Manning was the luckiest of all Mannings. Not only did he get to witness his hometown NFL team win a Superbowl, but he got to play in that Superbowl too.
Fun Fact - The Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the only NFL franchises that have a pick 6 versus every Manning to play in the NFL so far.
About 20 years ago, i got into football and became a fan of Peyton Manning. I also came across the book, "Manning: A Father, His Sons and a Football Legacy," at the library and read it cover to cover. This video reminded me of that, but updated. Great work putting this tighter. Thanks.
My first memory of Archie Manning is the first SEC televised football game in 1969, I was 6 years old. Ole Miss at Legion Field, Birmingham, Bama. The legendary Coach Bear Bryant led the Crimson Tide to a 33-32 win. But Archie played his heart out 540 total yards. That record remained for 40 years until Johnny Mansell.

Was glad to see Arch stick it out in Texas. This “transfer portal” has been anything but good for both the teams and players. A transfer used to be a weighted decision. Now, anytime a brat acts like a brat they can just jump to whatever other school they want. And play immediately that next season. Arch staying at Texas proves to me he has character.

I think the decision to stay at Texas is a lot deeper than you give credit. I feel that the Manning's (all of them) told him to stay put. The NFL is going to have to deal with the transfer portal "Brats," (as you call them) in the coming seasons. How are they going to act when they don't get the playing time they feel they deserve? This is going to be a paradigm shift for the GM's and coaches in the NFL. They're not going to like it for awhile until they get used to it. Arch, having stayed at Texas will not have to deal with the stigma of jumping into the portal when he get's to the NFL. All that being said I agree with players getting paid while in college. Eli had a greatness that was hard to measure and also the disrespect of saying he was mediocre with a .500 win total is absurd. The Giants screwed Eli for many years not bringing him a solid O-Line or star caliber offensive talent for so many years.
