Guys, I just found this series tonight. This is beyond entertaining but a master class for beginners like me. Oddly enough this episode is just near where I live! Keep up this great content and thank you so much for the classes. You both got a new follower/subscriber.
Wow that dji is a step forward for beginners into fpv. I would like so much to have that landing mode 13:23, the posibility to see and change straight into the field the PIDs and feel the difference in real time 15:13 and specially panic button 19:34 It would make my life much easier and prevent a lot of crashes and repairing times. I would probably still fly drones nowadays but all the accidents, repairs and the learning curve of assembly, learn to balance batteries, drone setup, etc. killed the fun I had for this hobby. If one day I have enough money to buy this drone as a hobby, I will definitely buy it. It worth the extra money.
What a great video! I think might be able to learn a rubix cube. I like how you have him fly way up to practice. I always get questioned on why I am so high but why not.
@@aviator can’t wait for the next one. I bought the arm bracers for mine. I wonder if that would have helped in your crash. I want you guys to install those for your next video! Then I can see how crashible it is. :)
I snapped the front 2 arms of my DJI FPV and I fiberglassd them back together. IT WORKS JUST FINE. It is 100 times cheaper than sending it to DJI and it is probably stronger than it was new because fiberglass is stronger than plastic.
You have a great teacher, I think you did awesome for your first time, I've not tried fpv, I have just the Dji Mini 2 combo, but if I had the cash I would buy your Skyeliner, on say 6s, and then I would start with 4s, work my way up, I love the Skyeliner, looks stunning. Wish I could get 1, Good Job to you Both. 👊💯
I'm literally going tomorrow morning to try Rubik's cube for the first time with my FPV after multiply attempts in the sim and I just encounter that video omg perfect.
U can do rubiks cubes way more easy by rolling the drone then frontflip or backflip. Way saver to first roll then get the position right again by frontflipping because u wont fly into the ground right away if u dont get the front or backflip right. Way more easy to bail or just stop out of a roll then a front or backflip.
I would love to this sort of video series on Cine freestyle to! i think most people that are coming from the camera platform world would most likely relate to a more floaty cinematic style of freestyle
What they should do now is strip the electronics out of that junk plastic and stick them on a real CF frame. Now that would be some fresh content worth watching, and i'm honestly surprised no one's done it yet with how many of these have been wrecked.. I've seen people putting hobby electronics in camera drones, but the other way around makes more sense to me. Imagine the market for dji fpv flight control parts and their tech if they were available to the hobbyist market.
It faired that crash pretty well. I didn’t slam mine near as hard and I broke both arms and did a bunch of damage. With that said surprisingly cheap to get repaired through dji even without the warranty. In fact I think it was cheaper without the car refresh warranty then with it… just for those afraid of crashing your dji fpv drone
@@aviator thats not what he was saying man, weve all enjoyed watching you learn. But drew should have started you on his skyliner... You would have had more fun and would have learned faster
As a new FPV pilot, I have found it challenging to go out to an open field and learn new tricks. I think it's a combination of not wanting to crash but also not knowing what tricks to follow. However, I can say that I am so glad I didn't start my FPV journey on the DJI FPV quad. I really do think that the way to go is to get a "real" FPV drone and know that it can be fixed without the need for care refresh.
If only the Dji FPV would disarm after the pause button is hit.. Anyone want mine? Selling for a steal. Fresh from DJI refresh. 800 for DJI FPV2 batteries and controller.. And extra battery with fly more charger.
When you flip you get a smooth motion. When I flip with my fpv combo the camera keeps on trying to level itself and it looks really janky. It annoys me a lot and I can't find any settings that cause it...
Saw the bend prop jello after the switch? Sooo drew messed up the landing in acro because the f*** disarm with double tap *button* never works! @DJI fix that and give us a proper disarm switch!!!
@@dustinhyde1103 that's what I use. Standard cable. Even if you don't have someone watching your phone, I think the app connection also enables the find my drone mode in the app in the scenario you need to use that.
I feel like the drone freaks out with acro . I only fly acro but this drone is weird maybe I need to adjust the rates ? I like flying this thing but not free like a freestyle kwad
DJI: Let´s make a FPV Drone! FPV Pilot: Crashes are daily business... DJI: What they will crash?. Brillant! More workers for the repair department pls...
Ive tried acro twice, crashed twice. Still flies but yea its too much power for me personally. Even with the rates low as they can go, its so fast. I wish i could set the max speed of the drone. I dont need to fly at 140 KPH!!! and i wish the sticks were longer for some reason.
I can't imagine getting into FPV and for all intents and purposes... not being able to crash. If I had to stop, ship, and wait for replacements after every crash, it would have so much longer to learn.
yeah I crashed hard into a field yesterday doing a matty flip (like that inverted power loop). fpv camera came loose, banged up motor and props and handing video antenna... All it took was spinning the motor to make sure it still worked and opening the frame to reinstall the camera with some tape to compensate for the broken screw... New zip ties for the fpv antenna and new props and its ready to go... This drone would have never survived that, and I already have a cheap frame (source one v4), I suppose a more expensive one would also have survived lol
@@SwainixFPV bought my DJI FPV drone without any insurance. I crashed and fried a motor. Rather than the cost of having DJI fix it, and having to wait as it is shipped to them and back. I ordered a replacement motor of amazon for like 25$ total, it arrived the next day, and I replaced and soldered it into the ESC in 20min. I was back flying in less than a day.
@@SwainixFPV yea I've had a few crashes with that being the worst of it. It's definitely not a drone that can handle crashes well. Either way, it's a really easy drone to fix. Good for cinematic FPV footage, not so much any ballsy freestyles lol
Pro Tip: When even MrSteele himself crashes about once a minute, freestyling a drone that has to be shipped to the dealer when it hits the ground at fairly low speeds IS A BAD IDEA. Don't get the DJI FPV Drone. Get a decent carbon fibre frame. Bind'n'Fly drones these days go for as little as $200. If something breaks it's usually a bent prop, if an arm breaks the frame is designed in such a way that you can easily replace it in less than 10 min for less than $10.
A crash course indeed. Thanks for helping me learn guys!

Best part of the vid was the reaction to doing the low rolls not the crash. If you do another vid fly a freestyle quad and wear a heartrate monitor.

For this reason, we need an official Rotor Riot Drib bobblehead, that yells "FASTER! LOWER! NO NO NO NO!" for motivation with the push of a button
