As a drone noob who just literally bought Liftoff and an FPV controller one week ago, I just wanna say I'm super grateful for channels like this. Loving this community and the ocean of wealth and knowledge out there
I was about to post nearly the same comment when I realised you have already done it! I did 30 hours on Lift Off and I do manual mode now on my dji fpv.
If you invest into 3d printer and make your own drones for racing and freestyle flying it's cheaper in long run and the electronics are cheap as well to build a high speed freestyle racing fpv style drones it spend 45-50 bucks total per drone and the fastest one I have right now goes 105 mph and it's a blast to fly and I have 5-6 drones on hand when I go to fly and practice freestyle flying and at the fpv drone track to practice so if j crash I just throw another one in the air then spend the week re printing and building what I crashed that following weekend. I spent 300 bucks total to be able to have 6 drones ready to fly and that's including the transmitter and batteries
I also am totally new to the world of Acro mode. Got a DJI FPV, downloaded liftoff and did around 10 hours before clicking full manual. So amazing just spending hours in a open field learning different moves these drones do. From Sim to Real life I have so much fun spending hours in game then going outside and testing these moves. I love videos like this cause this is the journey I'm starting
Do it over soft thick grass bud. Make sure your battery is pretty full and has lots of power to catch the weight after your dives. Have fun. Think about trying a regular fpv setup someday. Happy flying
maaan, that emotions.... welcome in the world of fpv! ;) reminds me to me first power loops. shaking thumbs and sweating hands. love to see other people getting the same positive emotions!
I love this series! Please do more with the dji fpv! Makes me step up my flow and abilities. You were the reason I picked up dji fpv. Thank you for your videos.
The second method you teach is how I think dives should be taught. Roll upside down, pitch back until you are looking straight down the dive, blip throttle to arrest movement, fall.
This is the best video that explain me everything about diving. Pro guy just said so much good details, explained step by step. And this is a best way to learn
4:00 as i understand prop wash from physics, you're not really falling into the "dirty air" (or your own turbulence, since you're falling into "new" air). It's rather that, the air flow UP through your propellers is actaully imparting torque on the propellers the OPPOSITE spin of your thrust, so the air is effectively braking your propellers from moving, and thus also NOT providing any lift even if you thrust at max. Becuase you thrusting at 50% while falling straight down, you might only cancel out the "negative" thrust, meaning you're at idle effective lift, when you expect to be at 50%. So it's more to think about it like, the air flowing UP through your propellers imparting a "debuff" on your lift at any given thrust. Because the only way the propellers create lift, is by sucking and pushing air DOWN. So naturally, air flowing UP negates any lift. THEN if you impart too much thrust, it causes the turbulence, which has the same effect of "debuffing" your lift. It can be an evil spiral. Because you need more thrust to get the same lift, but the increased thrust creates turbulence that reduces lift. Best way to avoid? Try not to have the drone travel "downwards" (regardless of your horizon pitch or angle, drone-relative). Face the fall.
@@aviator no that a skill, we call it a "panic induced, luck dependent obstacle avoidance manuver"only works about 10% of the time , but when it does is so nice.

so... Im absolutely gutted... I bought DJI FPV to fly "manual", I don't know if my definition of manual was wrong but basically even on manual mode my drone automatically goes up.... like... ??? Im 70 hours into Liftoff before it arrived, practising there in a mode where if I release all my buttons the dron will just fall down - meaning it won't go up or hover still on its own I need to constantly control the throttle to keep it levelled same like you do in a car and if I release all the buttons the dron will just start falling down like a helicopter with an engine off. How to turn that on?? Or what drone doesn't have this nonsense? Cos if its about the drone model im selling it and getting another one TODAY. Its shocking because I was flying exactly DJI FPV model in the Liftoff simulator, not a different drone model. I ve been on Liftoff via my DJI controller 2 doing double backflips and rolls like its nothing - on what I thought manual mode - and now in reality even the manual mode is with an assist. There is not a mode like that in my actual drone/goggles. What the actual F?
@@aviator I've been flying FPV for around 4 years. I'm not a pro, but I can get by. I bought the DJI FPV, and even with DJI Refresh, i'm scared to to fly in Manual mode lol.
