Damn, this hurts. Like you say, it's time to take a long look at the direction of this franchise. Ok, let's get a couple of inexpensive Asian players. Play the kids, then I will have fun watching them at Coors, which is where I get to watch the orange and black in person.
I like him overall. Been a solid backup the last couple years. Gut tells me he resigns with SD where he was super popular last season. Carson Kelly or Danny Jansen feel like the most likely targets.
@@EYDShow I agree SD should resign him but I’m thinking they may try to lowball him. Seems like a guy we may be able to steal. I’m wary of Jansen and his injury history especially after Murphy last season.
Good job Cody, your predictions make a lot of sense. I like the Bichette trade and signing Santander. I’m still holding out hope we sign Snell and or Corbin Burnes.
A top 3 of Webb, (insert "B-tier" free agent/trade), and Ray could definitely be worse. I like Sonny Gray as a trade target if/when the Giants get cold feet on committing long-term to Snell/Burnes. I agree with the thought process behind the Bo and Santander acquisitions. Lee and maybe healthy LWJ are the only hitters on the roster who will sustain K rates below 20%, the lineup desperately needs a few players who can balance things out.
Spot on about Whisenhunt or Harrison, thinking one of them and another player or two gets Bichette? Lets sign Corbin in the next week or so to establish that were going all in... They NEED to move forward, not going back style... Lets get some new arms. Burnes NOT Flaherty...
I would love Burnes (certainly more than a mid rotation arm). I was just giving my thoughts on the direction I think they ultimately do go. I think that deal would definitely get it done for Bichette. Might not even need to give up that much but I can’t say I have a great feel on what actually closes that deal right now.
Of the two, I'd rather part with Harrison but it'll depend on who another team would want. I like Bo if we can get him but if no, Kim should be fine and hopefully Yaz is the one to go of the 4 you mentioned. I like him but he's more part time than full. I quit watching Nor Cal, those guys get pretty whacky and switch sports on the fly. I'll likely watch because you guys are there though.
I like your take on Bichette and Santander. I’m thinking the third acquisition might be Christian Walker as a stopgap. I’m not discounting the possibility of Snell coming back because I don’t think he’s going to be offered more than four years elsewhere and he’s in a park where he can pitch effectively so his contract can be spiced up with incentives. I think Robbie Ray is an interesting wildcard
Agree I’m higher on Ray than most. Walker would be a great fit on a 1 year deal but I do think he gets 2-3 years elsewhere. I’m not closed off on Snell coming back on a shorter deal I just don’t think the Giants give him a long term deal and ultimately he goes elsewhere. Just my gut feeling.
@@EYDShow Agreed but I could see Walker on a three year Giant deal because when Elthridge is ready to play every day Walker can DH with very useful power.
@ the main issue with DHing Walker is he’s an excellent defensive 1B. Not sure he wants to go somewhere and DH. I’d love him, just not sure of the fit given his likely wants and contract requirements.
I’d be thrilled if they landed Adames and Burnes. I’ve said in the past that Adames would be my #1 choice of the guys I think could be attainable. A lot for his market hinges on what LA does.
I just want Bichette and Luzardo. This addresses their needs and both are young. Curious the two different trade packages you think it would take to get both Cody.
Bichette is truly a crapshoot on his value right now. He only has one year left and his last 1.5 years haven’t been good at all. That said he has enough track record that they aren’t going to just give him away for some mid tier prospect IMO. Luzardo is in a similar boat where he’s on his last arbitration season and coming off a poor season. Can’t say I have a good feel for their returns. Maybe like a higher end guy that’s not a top 100 prospect and a lower end prospect as the return?
I agree on Whisenhunt or Harrison are part of the trade package to Toronto for Bichette. I’m thinking either Matos or Luciano are also part of the deal. My guess is that Duval is also likely or a young right handed starter…Black, Wynn or Beck?
I don’t think it should cost Whisenhunt along with either Matos/Luciano for a Bichette, but I could see a scenario where they try to bring Gausman over with him and then maybe Luciano and one more mid level prospect get added in.
Honestly think they need a top of the line starter. I think it’s a failed offseason if they can’t get one of those top 3 guys in Snell, Burns, or Freid.
I do think getting another front end starter would be important for the playoffs, but I don’t see it as necessary for the regular season. I expect more out of Birdsong, Harrison and Ray next season. That should help offset what they lose production wise from Snell, and some. I think many of us get blinded by his second half and forget that he was an unmitigated disaster in the first half. I think from a season long production standpoint they aren’t entering 2025 behind what they got in 2024. But they do need at least one more starter going into next season to be able to make a push for a WC. I also view the bullpen as one with the potential to be elite and the emphasis needs to be on getting innings out of the starters to prevent the pen from being gassed.
Either Wade or Yaz are gone, I think both pitchers stay among the arbitration guys. I think they sign Corbin Burnes, he was in Milwaukee when Zack Minasian was there so they are familiar with each other. I think they bring back Cobb as a middle rotation guy. I hadn't thought about the Bichette(maybe you go Yaz or Wade, Whisenhunt, Matos, and maybe Trevor McDonald) trade, but it makes perfect sense. Its hilarious to hear you talk about innings eaters at 150 innings, I can remember when you wanted your number 5 starter to be a guy who got 200 innings minimum.
Yeah the game has changed tremendously. My soul hates that 150 innings is considered “eating innings” but that is what it is. Ideally in todays game I’d like to see them get a #2 that can get them 180 and then get 160ish from their 3-5 guys.
Definitely shouldn’t take any top 100 guys. Could see Whisenhunt and a mid tier prospect going back. With only 1 year left and coming off a really poor season I don’t see him costing an arm and a leg.
I wanna see them go after Kyle Tucker and try to extend him. I don't know if they have enough trade pieces, but Harrison and Wiz you have under contract for years.
Oh no losing our 3rd and sixth round pick shiver me timbers, yup that settles it no Juan Soto and Corbin 🙅🏽♂️All jokes aside this years pivotal if they worry about bs like 6th round picks this fan base will continue to revolt, but this time it’ll be Posey’s legacy on the line
Yeah I think they’d be willing to lose the 2/5th for a good player, just don’t see them losing the extra 3/6th unless it’s Soto. In that case eff them picks lol
Shouldn’t have gotten rid of Cobb. One of the best Giants best pitchers 22-23. Reliable and not afraid to pitch in any situation. Better than a number three in most rotations.
The giants are a dumpster fire and being the only show in town now I just can’t support a franchise that is looking at it as a business that needs to operate at a profit. I understand there is a team down south that doesn’t bleeping care as well as a football and basketball team within fifty miles that doesn’t care either and you not what they are Great!! They are exciting to watch and it just makes me crazy they are so frigile and cheap to sign three aces if you can’t get a big bat star and aces not Robbie ray ok lol

A top 5 of Lee, Bichette, Ramos, Santander, Chapman would be amazing. Would also take pressure off of Bryce when he comes up.
💯. That’s actually a respectable group for sure. Then can plug Bryce in front of Santander or Chapman and he’d have some protection around him.
Bichette is not being traded
Great video. Love your predictions for the Giants! I’m getting fired up.
Appreciate you! Hoping for big things this offseason!
The other major issue is we need a reliable backup catcher to catch twice a week to keep Bailey healthy and productive
I agree, I do see them signing a RH C to be the backup and moving on from Murphy/Casali.
What do you think of Kyle Higashioka?
I like him overall. Been a solid backup the last couple years. Gut tells me he resigns with SD where he was super popular last season. Carson Kelly or Danny Jansen feel like the most likely targets.
@@EYDShow I agree SD should resign him but I’m thinking they may try to lowball him. Seems like a guy we may be able to steal. I’m wary of Jansen and his injury history especially after Murphy last season.
@@tomdolan9761 my first choice would be Travis D’Arnaud who just had his option declined by ATL. We’ll see if they can maybe swipe him.
Good stuff, as always!
Appreciate you!
Gonna be interesting to see what direction Posey and Minasian end up going. Thanks for the great content!
Appreciate you!
Love the video and the predictions totally agree on your thinking except Wade he needs to go. Go Giants!!
Appreciate you!

I do really like Gray as a target. His CBT hit is $25 mil for the next 2 seasons which isn’t bad at all.
Good video. Would love Bo

Could you see them getting both BIchette and Kim and have Fitz as an everyday utility guy
I won’t rule it out, but I do think it’s unlikely to see them get 2 starting caliber middle IF.
Hoping for Adames & burns but if they get Santander then I’d be okay if they went in a direction like this with Bichette
I’d be thrilled if they landed Adames and Burnes. I’ve said in the past that Adames would be my #1 choice of the guys I think could be attainable. A lot for his market hinges on what LA does.

Do you think Jack Flarethy be a good fit for giants ?
I do think he can potentially be a really solid player in SF. My gut is that he goes back to LA though where he’s from.
@ will LA sign him back over walker Bhueler? I feel Jack would do well on the giants .
@ with Beuhler’s TJ history I could see them preferring Flaherty
What would we have to give up to trade for bochitte?
Definitely shouldn’t take any top 100 guys. Could see Whisenhunt and a mid tier prospect going back. With only 1 year left and coming off a really poor season I don’t see him costing an arm and a leg.
They need to trade Yaz. If they can find a better 1B/DH than Wade then they should trade him too
I too would move Yaz. Wade is cheap enough and has value as a bench piece that even if they upgrade I wouldn’t mind hanging onto him.
I wanna see them go after Kyle Tucker and try to extend him. I don't know if they have enough trade pieces, but Harrison and Wiz you have under contract for years.
I’d love to get Kyle Tucker! Maybe a package of Harrison and Tibbs could get it done but likely depends on what other teams offer.
Without Burns or Freid or Snell, the team might sneak into a wc spot, but then will get swept
Giants need Burnes, Bichette or Adames, Tanner Scott and Christian Walker... LFG!
I’d be feeling pretty damn good about that team!
My dream is Kim,Santander(or tyler o neill) and then resign snell or get fried
That would be a very good offseason!

With a Farhan buddy as gm, I'm not expecting anything exciting
