    I wonder if having Kim and Lee would make the Giants South Korea's favorite team, like how the Dodgers are Japan's team(obviously to a much lesser extent) and that would give the Giants an advantage when more KBO players are posted in the future.

    Thanks Cody great video. HSK would be a nice asset to add to the roster. I’m hoping we get him and Adames. We need pop in the middle of the lineup. They both would be perfect fits for the Giants.

      @EYDShow  2 месяца назад +3

      Definitely! If Bryce is everything they’re hoping for the Giants could have a pretty respectable top 6 in the lineup come 2026 if they managed both Kim and Adames. Not to mention it could move Bailey down to 7-8th and take a ton of pressure off his bat and maybe he takes a step forward.

    Schmitt and Doval would be a very attractive trade package for teams chasing a closer.

    They should 100% get BOTH Kim and Adames. Pass on Soto.. don’t even offer him a contract. Immediately go after Kim and Adames. That locks up 2nd and Short with incredible defense, and both guys extremely help with the hitting lineup, and they add base stealing which is badly needed.
    Then trade for Luis Robert. Or sign Santander. Just adding those 3, Kim-Adames- and an outfielder, would be a perfect off-season for the Giants. Pass on Soto, go after those 3 hard.

    He would be a great addition. But like you said, we need MORE. No reason to not still go after a big infield bat.

    I'm okay with Kim, he impressed me two years ago. Perfect world would have someone who hit more but Kim is still early in his career and may improve. Kim and Lee being together may be a plus too. We could still use a couple of more bats and hopefully one is Santander.

      Adames ain't gonna happen
      Adames has a qualifying offer, Giants would lose 2nd and 5th round pick and lose 1,000,000$ in international signing pool

    I was never high on Severino but he does induce a lot of ground balls decent age at 30 nice mid tier not too expensive depth piece to me. Still want an ace though. I’ve accepted the Kim thing. Him and Fitz hopefully can swipe 30 bags each. Kim makes sense if they add slug elsewhere. Us Giants fans have been deprived of this since you know who. Just wild.

    • @EYDShow
      @EYDShow  2 месяца назад

      If they can land a middle of the order bat, along with Kim, that’s a really successful offseason in my eyes. He just can’t be the only guy addressing the lineup IMO. Severino could be nice, same with a guy like Eovaldi. Not sure they’ll be in on Burnes or Fried and Snell may get too many years when it’s said and done unfortunately. I don’t think any of the other QO pitchers are worth it.

    • @GrandAdmiralPosey

      @ yes i agree. Kim is complementary not foundational. Atleast he thrived leading off for Melvin already, I agree with Lee in a 2 whole. Wish Kim was at 2B mostly they could platoon Fitz at 1ab with Wade tell Edridge pops. Still need thump you we all know, can’t waste these Koreans setting the table

      There are definitely similarities in their strengths and weaknesses. Both at their best can be elite gloves and base runners. Both are probably about league average offensively when going right, though Kim shows to be a hair above, Thairo a hair below. Kim definitely is miles ahead when it comes to plate discipline/swing decisions/walk rate. He’s also got more speed and is a better base stealer. Basically a lot of words to say he’s probably a better version of Thairo, and likely a better fit for their roster needs.

    I think that Kim will be the end result for the Giants. Less than perfect for sure, but he can play sort or second and is a good friend of Lee as well. I like his speed too....he stole 38 bases in 2023. Still hope for a couple of big name splashes, but don't have a ton of confidence in that happening.

    • @EYDShow

      Kim and one middle of the order bat could be a really nice offseason. I just don’t think he can be THE big splash. But long offseason ahead of us.

    Sign Kim, Snell, Burnes and Alsonso. Trade Ray, Taylor Rodgers, and Yaz for anything. Trade for Louis Robert for Dovall, Luciano, Fitzgerald and matos if needed. Play Robert in LF, Kim at SS and Schmidt at 2B. Schmidt also back up for 3B. Utility Brett Wisely. Sell Fitzgerald high.

    So, the team that is desperate for offense is going after the career .242 who averages 50 RBI's a season... It's like Farhan Zaidi never left, we just collect up players who can't hit and then wonder why we leave 8+ runners on base every game and fail to score 3 runs in 1/2 the games... STUPIDEST MOVE THEY COULD MAKE AT SHORT, HE CAN'T FUCKIN HIT. We already signed Chapman and he can't hit either. What we got out of Mat Chapman last year was one of the best offensive seasons he's ever had... PLAYERS DO NOT REPEAT CAREER YEARS AND 2024 WAS A CAREER YEAR FOR MATT CHAPMAN. His offensive production will drop down to .230 with 55 RBI and 17 home runs... which is what he usually does... and Ha-Seong Kim is exactly the same, defensively BRILLIANT, offensively trash. The team is in desperate need of offense, and they are going after ANOTHER defensive specialist who CAN'T FUCKIN HIT. This is like all the people saying the giants don't need to make any moves, they need to bring back everyone cuz Robby Ray and Jung-hoo Lee will fix everything... IF WHAT YOU'VE BEEN DOIN HASN'T BEEN WORKING YOU NEED TO STOP DOIN IT.
    The goddamn Giants tried the Zaidi way, the statistics way, FOR 6 FUKIN YEARS, and it doesn't work. He brought in player after player with above avg WAR, and above avg OPS, and above avg exit velocity and, and, and IT DIDNT FUCKIN WORK, THE GIANTS WERE TERRIBLE. Anyone who thinks that this team will get better if they keep on doing exactly what they were doing when Zaidi was here is a moron. Ignoring BA and RISP and RBI's IS REALLY FUCKIN STUPID, The giants did that for years with Zaidi and it didn't work did it. Ha-Seong Kim is a Mike Yastremski, he is a good fielder who can't hit, and that is the last thing this team needs, we already have Chapman and Yas, we don't need another one.

    He was only hitting 227 when he went down with injury. As a Padres fan, I am not sad to see him go. Great defender, not a very good hitter.

    • @EYDShow
      @EYDShow  2 месяца назад

      His value definitely lies in his defense and speed. He also does a fairly good job of getting on base and has had a nice walk rate the last 3 years so he can utilize his speed. The fact that he consistently puts the ball in play should at least help their situational hitting as a whole. But you’re right, overall not a good/great hitter so limits the overall upside. Nice piece, can’t be the headlining acquisition IMO.

      @EYDShow  2 месяца назад

      @ they very well may be interested in signing Kim as a 2B given the shoulder injury he’s coming off of. Also, it’s been reported Adames is willing to change positions. So why wouldn’t he return their calls if they were the team willing to pay him the most? That makes zero sense.
