You're doing a fantastic job! I need some advice: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Everybody keeps skipping over Tyler Fitzgerald at 2nd base! We just GOT YOUNGER as a team about a year-and-a-half ago! Fitzgerald is GOOD!…and he has a chance to be GREAT! Let him (and the younger guys PLAY)! Sign Burnes and Sasaki (if possible), trade Yaz, Wade and Duval and LET 'EM PLAY. Hopefully Eldridge makes it to The Show in 2025, but if not, then make a move for a 1st baseman to help him when he does arrive. Personally, I want to see Fitzgerald at 2nd for an entire year! Evaluate our young players and keep moving forward!
I think you could get away with giving them one of the young pitchers that got a cup of tea plus either Wilmer, or someone like a Joe Whitman
I THINK IF THE GIANTS DON'T WANT TO KEEP GOING AFTER BURNS I WOULD TAKE A LOOK AT JACK FLATERTY JUSTIN VERLANDER TAKE A LOOK HITTING ANTHONY SANTANDOR IF THEY DON'T GET BURNS THERE GOING TO COME UP WITH ONLY WILLIE ADAMES THAT'S NOT HELPING HIM AS BUSTER SAID HE WOULD GET SOME MORE HELP ANTHONY CAN BAT L OR R AND HITA BUNCH OF JACKS
So Greg Johnson is tired of Boras putting the screws to the Giants, I hope Boras doesn't phuck this up for the Black and Orange.
Yeah agreed. I understand a lot of fans disliking Johnson, but sometimes it just comes down to the agent being unwilling to bend at all.
@@EYDShow I don't like Johnson, but I understand where he is coming from because everyone knows about Boras' chicken bleep moves and trying to bleed a team dry.
@@EYDShowwe should of signed Patrick Sandoval or just took the Red Sox approach to saturating pitching like going to get bueler or get garret in a trade
This channel posts any and all rumors for content, its never really news. Tired of channels using the offseason for clicks, there takes are all horrible and theres way more credible baseball people on youtube to follow than these guys. EDIT: i was wrong so i ended up subscribing, and will continue watching!
oh no. How dare a channel that covers the Giants speak about rumors pertaining to the Giants during the offseason! 😱 every beat writer and sports journalist should quit their jobs because sonofnergal4794 doesn’t like it !
1) we aren’t reporters following the team that’s here to report news we heard from the club or only talk about things that happened 2) the off-season is slow so we do like to give our opinions on different players that are connected via rumors to the Giants, as lots of people ask our opinions on these players 3) we are here to give OUR takes, all of which have logic behind them and we’ve dug into the different ramification, both financial or player cost etc 4) I don’t make videos on topics specifically for clicks, most are just reactions to what’s out there or me putting out a player I’d like to see them target (Steer) 5) if you don’t like it, don’t let the door hit you on your way out 👍
Maybe instead of talking smack, you provide constructive criticism instead. The new regime so far has not leaked any kind of info on potential free agent signings and/or trade targets. So I ask you, what exactly would you like Cody to discuss other than Corbin Burnes every day for three weeks straight? Cody brings his own thoughts/ideas to the table where a lot of other RUclipsrs don’t. Please give recommendations and I’m sure he’d love to touch on those topics for you.
@@rclark415 its almost as if you’re saying thats all he’s got to talk about, given its the offseason. If you guys wanna spend day in and day out talking and hearing about nothing. Fine by me. Maybe i’ll have to wait till the season starts for the more tangible stuff. Sorry for the disarray. With the influx of all these “sport channels” on youtube, its hard to distinguish who’s doing what for what
@@icedo-dan i mean yeah its kind of frustrating when people that actually know what they’re talking about knowing better to than to think Fried would go to SF. For these hams to discuss him longer than 20 seconds. All i know is, compared to many other channels, this one is never on to anything. And if you ask around, a lot of people dont like beat writers and certain journalists for what im complaining about here, and since they aren’t any of those things, that would make for a pretty easy conclusion
Man, you're really going all in on this trading for Steer idea and I don't mind it at all. Buster may be cooking 🔥
Man I’m hoping! I’d be super excited given what he’d bring and the opportunities it could present later on. He’s really an underrated player IMO.
Hard for me to believe the only teams in on Burnes are the Giants, Blue Jays and Orioles.
I mean look around at all the major market teams that can actually afford Burnes and tell me who you see going after him now. Basically every single one has addressed their starting pitching through significant signings or trades at this point. Only remaining team I could see joining the fray is the Cubs, but the Rickett’s are arguably more cheap than the Johnson’s and I have significant doubts they’ll jump in. Kinda crazy but if that’s all that remains in the hunt for Burnes I can see why Buster refuses to bid against himself.
The NL West is more open than the AL East?? Hardly. The Giants are as buried as the Blue Jays. You guys aren't being realistic there.
Giants are definitely not as buried as the Blue Jays. We’re not saying they are playing in an easier division, we are saying they are closer to SD and AZ than the Jays are to any of the 3 teams ahead of them. Jays are about to be the worst team in that division in a year when Vladdy and Bo walk. Giants at least have hope if you add Burnes + Adames, with some young players on the roster that should continue improving.
@EYDShow Just checked and it's apples and oranges as Toronto finished in 5th, not 4th. But the Giants' division was tougher last year as the Dodgers, Padres and Dbacks are definitely better teams than the Yankees, Orioles and Red Sox. Also the Rockies supposedly have one of the best farm systems in baseball, so if the Giants don't keep improving they could get passed by the Rockies.
@ the point is that one team has young talent on the roster and has the potential to be way better than the other. The other plays in a nearly equally tougher division on a team that will be a bottom feeder even with him the second Bo and Vladdy walk. And the Rockies aren’t passing anybody anytime soon until they actually develop any pitchers.
With Boras it's sit back and let me do it or pick another agent. We saw him fail last year but guys still go to him for a contract that best benefits them. I think the Giants should pursue other options, whomever they are, let Burnes go on to Toronto. He'd be a great get but not if we lose more picks and Int money and he leaves in a couple years.
Giants are idiots. It doesn’t take this long to sign someone if they WANT to be there. They have other positions that need to be taken care of like 1st base and let so many get signed or traded waiting around for a dude that’s literally waiting for a better option.
Do you think the Giants are gun-shy about Burnes because of how the Snell deal worked out this past season?
@ which makes even less sense and proves more so their idiots like I initially said. If you have previously had dealings with this agent and somehow was burned in the past, why take a second roll of the dice? “Oh no it’ll be different this time….” Stupidity. You don’t have to be an executive to know they really don’t want to sign with your team. Just like Snell didn’t either last season lol. Everyone hated farhan yet this is EXACTLY what farhan was hated for and their repeating the process. They’re gonna have their one “big” free agent victory and I use the word “big” very lightly here and that’s it. I’ve said this before on this same channel. They wasted too much time on this dude. Now moving on will net them mediocre free agents to fill holes and gaps. It shouldn’t be THIS hard. Seriously.
Do you think Boras is being especially hard because it’s Posey’s first offseason? I have no doubt he and his staff are working hard to negotiate and fix this roster but I have that linger in the back of my mind a lot.
Honestly he seems to be doing what he does every offseason so I don’t think that’s the case, but never know for sure.
good show 👍
Appreciate you!
In reality the Giants seem to be Burnes only real option so I’d simply wait it out. Don’t forget that Boras is having trouble getting Bregman and Santander signed so I’m thinking there simply isn’t a team he wants to sign long term with.
I really wonder if players actually want to play into their late 30’s to early 40’s…. 37-42 age range.. Like being an athlete takes a toll on the body and they may be in pain for the last few years, may not be fun at all..
I think it definitely varies by the player/position. But most seem to try to hang on as long as possible in baseball.
Hmmm… my hopes are Sasaki and Shinnosuke at this point.
@@morcatna4767 Can't see Sasaki coming. I'd be shocked.
@ he will come :) I have 100% faith
@morcatna4767 100%??? I think your judgement is way off.
@@morcatna4767 Why would he come to the Giants when he could go to the Dodgers and other teams that are so much better than the Giants??
@@davelandsman4768 good chance I am 100% off but I’ve seen him play. He’s very competitive. He wants to be the best. To be the best you need to compete against the best. He also wants a more mellow media market and good defense. SF got both of those and a really good pitchers park.
forget boras - zero trust in that snake.
I wonder if the Dodgers are trying to land Burnes. And I think Sasaki is going to the Padres.
Boras’ heart only shrinks two sizes too small lmaooo
It is concerning. I hated to see all of those first baseman snatched up so quickly. Walker, Bellinger, Santana, and Naylor all would have been feasible options for the Giants.
Do you see Alonso as an option for the Giants?
@@cityhawk I did and I'd love it. I can't imagine PA signing here with the metrics of Oracle. I can always hope, though!
@@lynnbyrd9819 It may be a dog pile for the Mets and Giants. I don’t see the Cards jumping in even though they lost Goldschmidt to the Yankees. Alonso, in my opinion, misjudged the market. Did he think he would be in higher demand? Maybe. Did he think more teams would meet his price tag? Maybe. But now that he overplayed his hand, he’s left scrambling for a place to go to.
@@cityhawk Highly unlikely...unless they overpay...by a mile!
Burnes needs to take control of this and don't let Boras f**k it up for him. Giants need to put down a number and deadline, then move on. Develop your own stars. You won 3 WS with homegrown "stars".
Giants need to give burnes a deadline by end of January then move on if he doesn’t sign by then and shifts to buehler and farenty
GIANTS SHOULD SAY 250 THAT'S ARE BOTTOM LINE GIANTS ARE LOSING ON OTHER FREE AGENTS IF YOU THINK BOARS IS SCREWING WITH YOU DON'T KISS IS ASS MOVE ON IF YOU DON'T GET BURNS YOU WILL BE TE LAUGHING STOCK OF THE LEAGUE YOUR BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD SPOT
Giants better grab a first baseman. They seem to be flying off the shelves these days. Bellinger, Walker, Naylor and Santana...all gone!
Great work Cody
Appreciate you!
How about a 1B platoon of Wade Jr and Schmitt ??? Wade has .790 OPS against RH pitching- while Schmitt has .311 AVG against lefties. Meanwhile Luis Matos can be combination corner OF and DH.
Buster Posey is the white night we need. The dark days of turd face Farhan are gone.
I guess a budget first baseman is a smart next step...but still hoping for Burnes.
Don’t speak on Bay Area Bob that way he watches everything and will call u out on X🤣🤣🤣
Buster has definitely addressed the SS spot early. I think he is trying to add, but also not to overspend. It's a tricky line.
Casey Schmitt is like a combination of Marco Scutaro and Ryan Theriot if that makes sense. Rings, betch.
The Giants need to be giving starting jobs to Luis Matos and Casey Schmitt. I think they would be cool playing wherever if that means getting a everyday at-bats. Go feck yourself, San Diego.
the reality is probably nobody is interested in yaz and wade, otherwise they would be already gone. In my opinion they shouldn't have been tendered
You might be surprised. The Yankees have considered Wade because of his good on base percentage and the fact that it's 296' down the right field line. Lamont could hit 25-30 there...but not here at Oracle. That was according to an article from a NYY affiliated website.
Bay Area Bob Kim and David C are all one person. Bay Area Bob was at the 95.7 doobie awards yesterday and he admitted he is all 3
I do not like the idea of trading Yaz. You know what you are getting with him. I like the young guys but what if someone gets hurt? Yaz is steady and durable. I have a lot of respect for that. Great fielder, competent hitter. Veteran presence. Can play all fields.
They’ve known what they’re getting for years, and that a 79-81 win team. He’s a good player to have on a team set up to win 90+ because of his reliability, but that’s not the Giants. They need to raise the potential out of his spot. He’s 35 years old with zero future with SF beyond 2025, it does more for the club to actually figure out what they have in the kids before they run out of options and you move them for absolutely nothing like Bart.
I want Giants to somehow acquire Curt Casali and Austin Wynns from Cincinnati. The young catcher Bailey has shown a bit of a pattern of kinda breaking down late in the season from an offensive standpoint. Or something equivalent on the open market.
Unrelated but are we really sold on Harrison? Doesn’t have great stuff and throws 92. I wouldn’t lose sleep if he was packaged
I wouldn’t lose sleep either for the right player, but I don’t see him or birdsong as necessary to land Steer. I’d like to give him more time to see if he can 1) build up some more lower body strength so his endurance and velocity improve some 2) sharpen the break on his slider so it’s not that slurve that doesn’t tunnel off of anything and hitters pick up easily and 3) tightens up the command some so he doesn’t throw so many uncompetitive pitches that are easy takes. What I’d say with the fastball velo is his average fastball was actually within about a half a mph of what he averaged in 2023 for much of the year, he just cruised around 93 and rarely reached back for 97-98 like he flashed before. And even when he threw 91-92 his fastball is so live that he can get it by people. If he can get that closer to 94-95 with a sharper slider I think it can be a nasty combo. Once he injured his ankle though the velocity plummeted as he lost his lower body. He then overcompensated and it caused the shoulder injury that ended his season. So I do want to see him healthy again and see how he looks. Lot of words to say: I’m not sold, but he’s only 23 with tons of potential so I want to see more.
@ well said. Hopeful for a bounce back campaign and yes I’d like to see him develop a bonafide number 2 pitch. I don’t know the exact rate but I swear when I watch his starts it seems like he’s throwing the fastball almost 70-80% of the total pitches
2 years, one of which was .225 really... no, just no. Trade the young pitching... without seeing if any of it is going to develop into anything... no... pitching is the most important thing in baseball. If you have arms that have potential you have to give them a shot, one middle of the order pitcher is SO MUCH MORE VALUABLE than an OK hitter... Did we learn nothing from Zach Wheeler, he was a Giant... we had him... he could have been a Giant for the last 10 years... NEVER AGAIN. We do not trade pitchers until we see whether they have a real shot at working out or not. Also, power hitters... it doesn't play in SF, we have been trying it for how long... The guys who could do it (like Judge) don't want to come here and the "not Aaron Judge" power hitters like Conforto, they can't do it... STOP FUCKING TALKING ABOUT POWER HITTERS. I don't want Pete Alonso, and don't want another 200 strikeout guy... his power numbers are going to start going down and power is all the has to offer, it's the only thing that gives him value... I don't know anything about Steer, when you said he has 2 years, one of which was .225 that's it, my interest dropped to 0, I don't want another MIke Yazstremski.
The Giants have about 9 young pitchers between Sac and SF that have varying levels of upside. They aren’t going to be able to give every guy a shot and capitalizing on value from a position of strength to upgrade a position of need is an excellent way to improve your roster. Especially when you can get a young cost controlled player back. Also, you’re hyper focusing on batting average when he still hit 20 HR, still had 58 XBH, still knocked in 92 runs, still stole 25 bags (would have led the team) and had an above league average OBP. There are tons of reasons to feel like he’ll be closer to the guy he was in 2023 going forward as well, as he continues to adjust to major league pitching. He is a completely different style player to Yaz, so to just lump them together is pretty lazy IMO.
@@EYDShow I am hyper focused on BA, I do not want another .225 guy WE TRIED THAT WITH ZAIDI FOR YEARS AND WHAT DID IT GET US. 5 years of sub .500 ball. Christ the Cult of Zaidi has taken over baseball, we watch it fail for years and we're still all in...
@ I care about BA, but 1 season of hitting .225 doesn’t mean he’s a .225 hitter. I personally like his approach and swing path and feel he can be an easy .260+ guy that hits 55+ XBH and 20+ SB per year. Plus he’s money w/ RISP. Guy could really help this team in multiple ways.
@ also, trying to place me in “the cult of Zaidi” is one of the most laughably off base things I’ve ever read.
@@EYDShow For it to be worth taking a chance on this guy the price would have to be low... not a starter prospect, or at the very least your least promising starter prospect, preferably ANYTHING ELSE (other than Eldridge obviously) Now, if he has 2 straight years of .275 hitting then I am much more amenable to trading something or real value...
Trade #1 Wilmer, Schmitt, Tibbs for Framber Valdez. Trade #2 Yaz, Wade, Bivens for Willi Castro. Trade #3 Robbie Ray(Take on money, Warren, Rayner Arias for Spencer Steer. Giants 13 hitters on the 26 man: Bailey,Murphy,Steer,Castro, Fitz, Adames,Chapman,Yaz,Ramos,Lee,Matos,Wisely,McCray. Yes I don’t like Murphy or Wisely and don’t perfer Matos and McCray benched. But having Steer, Castro and Fitz as all UTL types all 27/26 yrs old is fun. Yes I’m dying on the Framber hill and the Robbie Ray hate I don’t care lol
I’m in once you gave the RBI numbers. 👍
Steer is good, but like you said, we need an impactful LH bat. I think Carlos Santana would be perfect for what we need. Throw him at 1B for 1-2 years before Eldridge comes up. He just won a gold glove, has decent power still, gets on base and won't break the bank.
They do need one, I just don’t see many out there that are available. Steer makes you better and you can still add a LH bat later on. Beautiful thing is he’s pretty inexpensive. So you can still chase a LH bat next offseason.
@@EYDShow I think Steer is good, don't get me wrong, but I think it depends on who you get rid of to acquire him. All that said, what is the likelihood the Reds get rid of him considering they're building for the future and he's one of their 2-3 best hitters?
Not sure, but reports went out last night that they had made him available. They have a ton of talented young position players that I could see them being open to moving some for more pitching.
@@EYDShow That's fair. As a Giants fan who actually lives in Cincinnati and has many friends who are Reds fans, that would be hilarious if we could pull it off. I'd give them Wade, Black/Winn, and maybe one of Encarnacion/McCray
@ I’d imagine you’re going to have to at least give up someone of Whisenhunt’s caliber. Steer is good enough and established enough that they’re going to have to give up at least one valuable piece. Maybe then they can flip another young arm like Winn or Beck that’s actually in the majors as the other piece. Yaz/Wade could do well there, just unsure of how willing they are to take on money.
I would love to see the SFGIANTS trade for Alex Bergman and put him at 2th base!!!
Love Spencer Steer. Cody knows Baseball!!!
🫡
Good one
Oh very underrated and I think Mason Black, Lamonte Wade, and another pitching prospect MIGHT get the Reds to blink. They had a 77-85 Record last year and may want to improve in OPS and pitching.
I'd be all over that. Great call! Steer would be a great addition. By the way...did you see that Melvin had ideas to bat Wade leadoff, followed by Adames, then Lee, Ramos, and Chappy! Interesting to say the least.
Yeah I saw it, not personally a fan, but I get some of the thought process behind it. While I love Wade’s on base ability, he is an absolute clog on the base paths and I really don’t like that in the lead off spot. Lee is an ideal #2 hitter for me, but the problem is they don’t really have an ideal lead off guy so I’d probably lean with having Lee lead off.
Biggest piece that everyone keeps forgetting about saski is that he is used to a 6 man rotation. And for a guy that doesn’t pitch more than 130 innings, why would he go to a team that wants him to pitch 150+ like the giant or SD would do. Dodgers are the only team in the league that can actually offer him a 6 man rotation that will actually do something
Who knows how much of a factor that actually is. My concern about the innings is just that you can’t jump him up immediately to 160+, not that he can’t build up to it. It’s hard because he only has a 3 year track record in the NPB and hasn’t done it yet, but he is only 23 years old. Lots of reasons to believe he can build up to it. I just don’t have any clue the level of importance a 6 man rotation is to him. Not sure anyone but him and his agent know that.
Great episode as always Cody. I can see the upside to Steer with versatility and speed, but I was wondering what position would he actually play for the giants? A super UTIL bench piece? I don't see a direct starting spot open for him at the moment. Maybe 1B? or even 2B? that's the value of him is to be able to play anywhere. I like the years of control too with Steer. But, if the Giants were to trade from him, it would look too much like a Farhan-like trade because of being too similar to that of say Yaz or Lamonte, acquiring a mediocre player and not a real star that the Giants reek of needing. Steer's numbers are good...but just solid. Nothing too extravagant. Thoughts Cody?
I would either play him at 1B and shift Wade to a bench role or in LF, moving Ramos to RF and bump Yaz to either 4th OF/trade him. I don’t really view him similarly to Yaz/Wade just because they all have different strengths. Yaz is better defensively than the other 2 but also has more swing and miss. Wade shows the best ability to get on base but his power numbers fell off a cliff and he offers almost nothing by way of speed. Steer offers the most playable speed and power of the 3, also lowest need to be platooned. Think he helps the Giants have the ability to beat teams in more ways. This is why I’m not a huge fan of the WAR stat. It doesn’t measure things like the value of having balance in your lineup.
@@EYDShow Yes, I can see what you are saying. Although probably perceived as mediocre by fans, Steer definately has upside, and showing an upgrade over some of the players we have now. I think Steer at 1B would work (or even 2B) while Eldridge is still working up then try to sign or trade for an RF as an upgrade there and make Yaz a 4th OF (he'd be a great defensive replacement).
Does he improve the team? Yes Go trade for him.
Sometimes it really is that simple!
Nice idea, but now is not the time to pick up a utility player...we need starting pitching..we have Webb and question marks in the rotation
@@marcdoherty6039 I think calling Steer a utility player is not accurate. Makes it sound like he’s a bench piece that moves around. He can be this team’s everyday 1B or LF (shifting Ramos to RF). And they have multiple needs. They need SP but they also need another bat, more power/speed/contact ability in the lineup. Steer helps with that. And also, this is why I said if they can sign either Burnes or Sasaki it makes this trade a lot easier to do, because then you’re less reliant on the young pitching.
For the right price he would be a good pick up, the speed and the proficiency to drive in runs would be huge for us.
Agreed he’d help them be able to beat teams a few different ways and would be a nice pickup. Not a massive name, but someone that would probably add a couple wins.
