the squished up text box is still large enough to read. I mean, if I can read it, it must be OK.
Thanks Michael! It's still very frustrating, it took so long to edit and 4 hours to upload overnight so I couldn't face taking it down, redoing all the boxes and trying again 🙈
ANNABEL, PLEASE COME BACK!!!
Annabel you’re starting to upset me! I need more of your videos, I love them and miss them, "Come Back” (said is Rose’s voice in Titanic when she was freezing in the water) 😂😂😂..Ugh, and I know you have a life and you’re busy but I don’t and I’m not so I’m being selfish 😂😂😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️❤️
😁😁😁😁😁
Seriously! Me too! My favorite channel, so I just watch her videos over and over...and over.

Hi Annabel, hope you’re doing ok. I’m aware we haven’t heard anything from you on RUclips for a little while and I was just a little concerned and really hope you are well. Missing your posts but know life can be overwhelming. Want you to know that your posts are very much appreciated . Xxx
오! 멋진 영상입니다.^^ 보는 것 만으로 힐링됩니다.~
Welcome back :)
Beautiful orchids in bloom video. Love the red cattleya. I got one from an orchid show but unfortunately died. My catleyas grow well for me but don't bloom. I guess it must be light issue. Thanks for sharing and happy growing.
So gorgeous flowers😍😍😍
The yellow striped phal I think is phal. Torino😊
Beautiful collection of orchids. You offer good cultural care. Also, your voice is a wonderful ASMR 🙂Subscribed 👍🏼
Beautiful orchids in bloom. Your plants are always healthy and vibrant I always enjoy seeing your orchid collection updates😊I would like to see an update on your orchid seedlings/flasks to see their progress. I also wanted to say thank you for inspiring me to grow orchids from seed😊 you and Dustin are truly the best on RUclips teaching us orchid growers on how to grow something that’s difficult in a simple easy way. You are truly an inspiration and a horticulture genius when it comes to plants 🪴 I hope all is well 😊 I look forward to seeing more orchid updates. Happy Growing!🌱 💚😊
Thankyou 🙂 I probably won't be able do one for a while, if you follow me on Instagram of in the community tab I post updates more regularly on there 🙂 I'll try and get to a video soon though! Hope you are keeping well 💗
@@TheOrchidRoom You’re welcome 😊 I do follow your Instagram page, I’ll keep a lookout on the updates on there 😊 when you get chance I’ll tune in to see the video update! Thank you💙
Thank you for sharing your orchids with us. They are all doing and looking so gorgeous. Something I can inspire to. Looking forward to any updates on these bloomers and if there are any re pots as well. Just wondering how your seeds that you did yourself are doing and if you got many seedlings. Have a great and wonderful day.
The C./Gthe guatemalensis is such a beauty, one for my wishlist ;)
Totally agree, it’s darling!!
awesome !
Hi orchied room I miss you and your orchied up date today I check my semi hydro clay potting is over growing roots I like to show how good is and easy watering orchied
Lovely blooms and I always learn something new from you. Highly enjoyed the video, thank you. Oh my, do you have african violets in semi-hydro as well? Can you share your african violet potting/setup in a video one day please? I still have so much to learn.
The text is very readable, no problem and much appreciated, this is a refinement over so many videos, many orchids have strange names. The quality of the images, color, definition are superb. Do you have a video that explains your cultural methods ? Thanks Annabelle for this "delicious" video.
Miss you
I will say it again....you're the best. I really don't understand why you only have 6000+ followers and 3000 views. You need to be known. I' use to follow someone (with over 300000 followers) into growing semi hydro fror the past 3 years. Now I understand why i've lost so many orchids by not getting all the information I needed to succeed. Please don't give up and thank you for sharing. Get an SEO if you have to.
Love your blooms - what a gorgeous collection!
I felt a bit called out there 22:27 haha. Next logical step after Phalaenopsis are Dendrobiums. Ooops! My first orchid was a Miltoniopis (which is how I found your channel) and then I went for Cattleya species.... Clearly absolutely illogical behaviour here. HAHA
My Miltoniopsis is working on buds as well. It had two spikes in bloom in December and January and there are four more to come.
You're clearly just above the norm 😉 Milties aren't so beginner friendly for some but I think Catts definitely are! You're doing well to still have your first milt! 🙂
@@TheOrchidRoom aw! You’re just the bestest haha. In deed I still have that one. I also killed one I bought last summer (came without roots). So ... yeah
Oh God, I hate the climbing habit of Miltoniopsis! My 'Sunset' is striving to become a Philodendron I think 😂 But all the flowers are lovely 💚 TheOrchidWizard Annabel 😂
My Miltonia sunset is planted on a diagonal so it's taking up so much pot room 😂 As with most things, I get small plants, get carried away, and forget they grow. And then they are big plants and climbing out of pots and drinking like they've been in a desert for months and found a lost oasis and have to drink it all. But all the time. TheOrchidStarver Annabel 🙈
Just sharing. I have a phaleanopsis that continuously manages to surprise me.
This one I got last year March.
2 flower spikes, bloomed for 8 months. (That I could hardly believe) 🤩 After the last flower dropped I cut a bit off each spike. Within a few weeks, one spike popped out a keiki, the other a secondary spike with five flowers.
I removed the keiki once it had enough roots and it's doing very well.
Now I'm waiting for those 5 flowers to finish so I can cut both spikes off completely, repot (as its getting way too big for its current pot), and then wait for new spikes in the new season.
This morning I got a huge surprise. It's pushing out a brand new primary spike.
Is it common for an orchid to push out a new primary spike whilst its still in bloom?
All this happened in just over 1 year.
Such a vigorous and interesting grower this one. 😀
Wonderful plants and beautiful channel !!! I have been looking for the Apple Blossom and for Caularthron bicornutum for ages, but as you said, they are very difficult to find, and personally I never managed to find any available in Europe and in UK. Do you know any seller of this orchid in the UK, or able to send to the UK?
Seen so many of those guaranthe skinneri hybrids, sooo I think my wishlist just got a tad bit longer again. 😅
Stay safe and take care.
They're soooo pretty 😍 Hope you are keeping well! 🙂
Gorgeous orchids. I can't wait for your videos. I love that little star🥰. From where are you buying your orchids now? I have tried spicesotic from ebay....but I was a bit disappointed...and the orchids came with a few free aphids as well...
Aww thankyou! 💗 I haven't really bought any orchids since the Ecuagenera order last year tbh... UK sellers mostly don't appeal to me with their ranges, although spicesotic was always a staple. The last few orders from them were fine, mostly, I think they've got a bit pricey though and I do agree I think they've grown so much that the original quality that was always there had gone down. I guess that's what happens with good sellers, they eventually become so big they start getting the drawbacks of some nurseries. I wish I could still order from Lucke orchideen or orchidgarden 😥 they had the best ranges of the types of orchids I most enjoy growing. Try finding a polychilos hybrid phal for under £30 in the UK now, it's crazy. Glad I had a Phal and Cattleya binge last year!
@@TheOrchidRoom you definitely right. They are definitely more expensive now....but it will not bother me if they will be healthy plants that look good...I've got an Witchcraft and some grammatophyllum and cycnodes and I can say that they were quite expensive for what I received, plus after I send them a message they didn't reply anymore, which I definitely not appreciate...anyway, if you have any division for sale, I am here and I will buy them all😁 do you have a Instagram page?
You are missed. I hope you are able to do a new vid sometime in the near future😇💚🌸😸🧞♀️
Hi Annabel, I’ve got an Id for your yellow striped phal: it’s Sunny radiance, she looks just the same as the one I’ve got from orchid deluxe 2 years ago!
Thanks 🥰 The reason I still call them NoIDs is there are aboit 4 that look identical. As with many complex hybrid phals. There is no way to be sure, it only matters if you are going to hybridise them which is impossible if you didn't purchase with an ID that clearly matches the bloom- this is where large scale hubridising issues can occur. Since I am growing them for enjoyment and won't be pollinating using any of them because of this, I really don't care for the ID, I just put a few similar on screen for people who wish to purchase a phal with a similar look. If you look at each if the ones I put up on screen they also have varieties that look identical, although of course there is seedling variation. If the text box issue makes them unreadable, a few similar are Phal Baldans Kaleidoscope, Phal KV Beauty and Phal Torino. There is seedling variation and colour variation with clones but I have found images of each of those that also exactly match my bloom.
🌹
Hi Annabel, hope you're well and your PhD project is going well. Finally I ordered epidendrum lehmanii and Hugo media from Ecuagenera last night. Can you please let me know what setup are you doing for both these orchids?
Annabel, have you done a video on repotting of a psychosis orchid in semi hydro?
🤗👍
Hi, wasn't sure how to send you a message lol.
Was watching you clip on repotting phaphiopedliums and was wondering if you have or could do a recepie mix if possible?? Love your videos and info
Annabelle, hi! I. Have a question. Have you used slow release fertilizer granules like Osmoquote for vandas?. Mine are hanging beneath misters which I turn on when Las Vegas is at 116 degrees. I soak them in Michigan state fertilizer ( Rays fertilizer) + MgSO4 once a week. I worry this dilutes my reservoirs .... I've bought mature vandas before and have dug out granules when placing in netpots with my Orchid room mix. So I'm gonna
Try it...
Any update, do u have orchids using pumice alone or more pumice in it?
Absolutely beautiful
Do you grow your cattleyas in a southern exposure?
Thankyou 🙂 All my orchids are grown in the same room (bar the cool growers) so they all get the same exposure. The Cattleya are shaded by the Vanda and Catasetinae on the shelves above. Our area is full of trees so I don't think giving a facing of the conservatory really tells much, south in the UK winter in a forested area is probably not the same light level as South in a warmer country for example. They get good lighting and some afternoon sun in summer, but over winter there is hardly any sun anyway, it never comes around to hit the conservatory.
@@TheOrchidRoom may i ask what type of heating you use to heat your sunroom? I have a sunroom but it gets too cold in winter when the heating goes off I have oil central heating but was looking into something else to heat the sunroom. I live in southern ireland
I use a combination of the house heating and extra oil filled heaters
Let us know if the lip on your Schillmann changes color as it gets older. The lips on my Schillmann turn a nice yellow as the flowers age. Do you think the scent is similar to Miltoniopsis?
Where are your videos?! I love your channel, can you please comeback 😭😭
So many people in the US want Sweet Memory, that plant sells for $70-$100 here. and it rarely comes up available. I hope you're able to clear up whatever it is with the Guatemalensis, a fungal treatment certainly can't hurt.
I've got a boatload of African Violets as well. All of mine are trailing varieties, which you sacrifice bloom size but they never stop blooming. I have two plants that have been in bloom continuously almost four years. And I discovered four spikes developing on my only Lycaste. Since it is brevispatha x bradeorum, the flowers aren't as large as the common hybrids (skinneri types). but it is able to handle warmer temps.
OMG, I've seen the Sweet Memory for as little as 10 euros here. I've got two! Both with lots of buds at the moment! Dreaming about the Appleblossom...One day, God willing...
@@SuperMariela78 I know, it is dirt cheap over in Europe. Only two people I know of here import them and I think they triple their cost because they know people will pay it. Sort of like Miltonia Sunset, cheap and easily had in Europe. In the US, seldom seen. Trader Joe's on the west coast was getting them for a while and people were buying them for $15 and selling them on eBay for $50+.
These availability issues 🙈🤦♀️ I've always wondered why all the suppliers stopped shipping the iwanagara appleblossom to Europe, and I wonder why the sweet memory and the chantilly lace can't make it to the US... Just with the scale of the exporting going on, you would think it would be possible. I almost wonder if it is to drive prices up... that seems unlikely, but you have to wonder, with the way the rare houseplant market went
I hope your Lycaste is fragrant Michael! I was a bit disappointed with mine I'm not going to lie. Zero fragrance. What I get for getting a complex hybrid I guess. The AVs are amazing and I got overexcited and got loads of cuttings, and now they are all massive and drinking like swamp plants.
@@TheOrchidRoom The Lycaste came with a bud last year and I don't remember it being fragrant but it is yellow and I have a soft spot for yellow. Plus any orchid that I can just "set and forget" and still blooms is alright by me.
Have you started looking for a bigger house yet to accommodate the plants? Or are you just going to expand the conservatory and pump in heat from the house?😉 🤣
Noid phalaenopsis is TORINO. 20:00
Thankyou 🥰 It could be about 4. It's a NoID complex hybrid. Unless I buy with an ID and it matches, it's a NoID to me. IDs placed on complex hybrids are often inaccurate. It doesn't matter unless you want to hybridise them, and then you couldn't use an ID you put on yourself anyway- that's when huge hybridised errors happen.
Annabel, is there a difference between phal liodoro and liodora? Mine is called liodora. Based on pictures an scent, i see no difference.
The first catt is very beautiful 😊
I'm not sure why there is all the confusion about Phalaenopsis Sweet memory and it's clonal varieties. Phalaenopsis Sweet Memory is the hybrid name. "Liodoro" refers to a clonal variety. There are others such as Phalaenopsis Sweet Memory "Bubbles" or "Treva" which are other clones of the same hybrid. I would assume Liodora is a misspelling of the clone Liodoro, spread by all the confusion perhaps, but the name of the hybrid would be Sweet Memory. Perhaps Liodora is another clonal variety but it seems unlikely. When you breed orchids you get seedling populations, which are very genetically diverse and will all often have different flowers. Particularly good specimens of these may be showed and given an awarded name, like "Liodoro". If they are exceptional maybe they get taken forward for meristem cloning, and therefore all clones of that variety have the clonal name.
One of the Orchidroots images gives Liodora as a synonym for Liodoro. I assume it was someone's name originally, so I would think only one is correct.

@@TheOrchidRoom thank you very much! I didn't know that. 😁 So it looks like they are all the same.
I would be grateful if you could help me recover my cattleya Siam Jade from root rotten. Could you suggest me in which medium you would take care of it. Have a good rest of the day. Daisy fm Italy
Hi Daisy,
It depends on what medium you like using, what works in your climate with your watering schedule. Cattleya can grow well in bark, bark and moss, semi-hydro with LECA, Lava rock, or any number of other media. It depends what you like growing in and what your climate is like. If you grow in a hot country a bark moss mix would be fine and allow to dry slightly between waterings, ideally on a 1 week wet to dry cycle. I.e, when you water the pot dries out by day 5-7 and then you rewater.
Thank you so much for your prompt resoonse. The temperature in my growing room is min 16 degree and max 20 now in winter and it's quite dry (humidity 50 to 60 and it is ventilated. I would like to save this orchid the fastest way. Blesses
Your safest bet is probably a bark moss mix with the wet dry cycle above. Here's how I treat rootless Cattleya divisions: ruclips.net/video/rtTIdQqwmd0/видео.html
There aren't any shortcuts, just give it good conditions and it will make new growths and roots 🙃
@@TheOrchidRoom Thank you very much for your precious assistance. Blesses🙏🙏
