- In this episode I share my haul from 3 different places I visited this Spring. The 3 locations are Bonnet House Orchids Fair, Flamingo Gardens Orchid Fair and Show, and my recent visit to Central Florida, Apopka. Where I visited Krull-Smith Orchids and Orchids In Bloom nursery. All though I did not break the bank, I did bring back some of the most beautiful and unique orchids. I also got an Anthurium I’ve wanted for a while. Hi Nelson, I love your crazy story! Btw, Phal Timothy Chris 'Sakura' x maculata is beautiful, I never saw it in Indonesia. What I found is Phal Timothy Chris 'Sakura' x rothschildiana but the flowers are slight bigger and without pattern. Nice haul!

You got some beautiful orchids and a beautiful phal from strange person. Did not know that about the ads, won’t skip them. Tiago is so like my cat, had to laugh and angel did look guilty. The pot holder was a fantastic idea, now I want to try bc my space is limited. Morris is also sooo cute. Thank you for sharing

Where do I begin? Lol The story about the guy was really strange, the fact that he was giving plants to kids but was very adamant about you not mentioning him or showing him in your video is a little weird I’m not gonna lie. Hopefully it’s all innocent but nowadays you just never know. Your artwork looked beautiful in the hallway 😍 Tiago is gorgeous! Aloha! I agree with all of the above. And yes, Angel had guilt written all over her face. She broke a gorgeous glass candle ornament that is a pair. I still have one left which I moved away from the window. She goes crazy with the birds so she knocked it over. As far as the mystery man, some day we will know why the secrecy. Someone had told me that maybe he is doing this business illegally. I just can’t wrap my head around it. I’m stilled puzzled. In a world of all types of crazies, one never knows exactly the reason why people do certain things. 🤨

Hey Nelson.... My mini vandas Pixie Dust's both are blooming like crazy lately... Absolutely love them. They are thriving in my indoor case and never seem out of bloom this past year. Lots of buds on all my Bulbos right now as well. I have several types of sundews in my case as well, they do a nice job of catching any bugs that find Thier way in. 😅

Do you want the information of the frame shop? As far as printing on canvas I don’t have any information on that anymore. The person that used to print on canvas for me has retired. But I’m sure you can look it up online. Now a days they have many online companies that will print photos on canvas.

Beautiful new additions. I was gifted the Jaiponica as a seedling a few years ago and I’m hoping that soon it’ll be blooming. Definitely a rare cutie. I’m happy that you liked your keep it green strawberry basket 💚🥰. I like that idea of hanging the vandas on the pot holder. I’ve been reorganizing and I have one that I could try that with! Thx for the idea. 😊

Nice haul Nelson. Your orchids are just popping! I think if you give the Chysis you got from Smiley more light, it will bloom for you. The leaves are thin but they do take quite a bit of indirect light.
Awesome. I just moved it to the work shack close to the ceiling which is a diffused clear roofing. Lots of light. 🙏🏼
Hi Nelson what I've learnt with stanhopea is that they grow better in basket culture nestled in a mound of always moist spagnum moss. I've collected some plants that we have growing here in Trinidad and they bloom constantly that way! Excellent haul as always!

Beautiful haul! Sounds like you guys got quite a pownpour again! Okay...where to start ... the teeny tiny leptotes biolor reminds me very strongly of laelia lundii, which is on my list for next month. The guy in the crazy story? I thought maybe he was just trying to sell his private collection but then he also could've just said so... weird. I would have not let go of the s. japonica either! Can't wait for mine to get a spike. Btw, since you love cranberry and yellow - look for sedirea japonica X vandopsis parishii! so beautiful. I had a young plant of it last year but sadly she didn't make it for too long. The little sun dew with your nepenthes looks like a drosera spatulata. Can be either green or red, I believe. The photograph looks great in its new place!

I bought 1 miniature Vanda- from Orchids show (Pasadena) in Sept - only 2 healthy roots - since no more root - and grove .
I water everyday + soaking in water …. but no luck .
What can I do ? to take care miniture Vanda?

Try feeding it with root growth once a week together with 20-20-20 and cal mag. Some times mini cattleyas can be fussy. I’ve had a few that have not acclimated well. Feed at a weak amount of 1/2 teaspoon per gallon when feeding weekly.
@@naturenel / I did soak mini Vanda / (not Cattleyas) in 20-20 + little Epsom salt every day - but did not help for Vanda to grove.
I like to order Vanda in the pot or basket and Cal Mag .
Last winter some of my Phalaenopsis did not make it but Dendrobium and Zygopectalum doing well.

you have to question why a grown man would be so rude to adults wanting to support his business with free advertisement and make a purchase, but cater to little kids giving them free plants...weird and creepy... also hiding his face, business name, and plants from marketing. somethings not right with that.

Hmm..maybe that person gets some of their orchids from the wild illegally, or some such “don’t want to have their face/name/business” online thing..why else would someone act that way?

I don’t think so. The orchids he sells are commercial orchids. Those type of hybrid Phalaeonopsis and Dendrobiums don’t grow in the wild.
