- Welcome aboard the Banjong train! We are about to embark on a wonderful tour of one of the best Vanda growers of our time. Banjong Orchids, a family owned and runned business since 1999. This year marks their 25th anniversary. Ben, owner and orchid grower gives us an incredible tour filled with educational content including historical stories of the business. This visit just blew me away. I was not expecting the amount of orchids and Hoyas he has to offer. Due to space, he’s holding one of his biggest sales to make room for thousands of more orchids. This place is a true empire of wonderful orchids and other exotics. I’m my own opinion, I rate Banjong bandas of one of the highest quality and strongest gene cross. Their hybrids are carefully studied to create bold, strong flowers that last long and usually highly fragrant. Imagine my surprise when I arrived and saw all the sales. I just had to film. Glad you enjoyed.
My Violetta is over 8 feet tall with two kikis. Each plant blooms so I have fragrant vanda blooms. I hang it from top of my pool enclosure in winter and move it to partial sun in spring and summer.

Thank you for the great feedback. I wanted to feature his nursery and this came at a good time. I realize the orchid world does not have a strong marketing outlet to show collectors sales at the nurseries. I felt this was a good way to let my viewers know about the special sales, while talking orchid care and history of the family. I’m very happy with this one. 💚
Their Vandas are always the best. I have bought so many from them and they always carry the healthiest and most fragrant Vandas. Ben is the best!!

You know what, Nelson? All I can say is I am really jealous on how many orchid shows/sales/expos you have there! Here in our city, in the recent years since 2016 onwards I guess, it's only like every 3-5 years I guess 😔
I agree with you. This is the reason I began my channel. I learned early on in that Florida is an orchid haven. Specially in the far southwest where I live. I felt that there were many orchid lovers out there that may not have the same outlet to orchids as we do here in Florida, so I created this channel to bring to your homes. Due to that mission, I have made many aware of the orchid events and fairs here. This has given the orchid community elsewhere the opportunity of making future plans for orchid vacation fun in my state. Im hoping that through my channel I inspire other places outside Florida to hold their own orchid events. 🤗💚
I love their terracotta pots, so many different shapes, sizes and designs! If only they shipped to Hawaii! This is an amazing nursery though, would love to go there “when” I visit you one day 😉 Great video as always, mahalo for taking us along 🤙🏼
I totally agree! I immediately asked him cause I knew you would want to order from him. He later told me he doesn’t ship any pots because they are fragile and sometimes break on delivery. He’s had issues in the past so now he only ships the orchids inside the US. Outside like Alaska or Hawaii he said he doesn’t. 😔 sorry Kelly I tried.

Hey Nelson! I live in Oklahoma, but I am in Ft Lauderdale today and will be attending the Redland show!!! It will be my FIRST orchid event ever!!! I’m so excited!!!! I’ll be there Friday only because we have to head back to Oklahoma afterwards. But I’m moving to Venice, Florida in about a month!!!

😮 as much as I love the orchids and hoyas, I do love his pottery so much, I wish he ships those. But, I remember from Blanca’s video before that he doesn’t. 🫣 Love your video though😊
He doesn’t ship them due to the weight. They also can break easy on delivery. So to avoid all that, he decided to only sell in house. They are a true gem.

Nelson please pleaseeee like really please, can you ask nursery’s fertilizers if they using one with urea or if it is ok to use fertilizer with urea 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 finding 20-20-20 in my country is very hard to find 😞😞😞 what im using now is 15-7-8 and bought it from Germany im from italy and maybe thats why they growing very slow 😢😢😢 i found one 20-20-20 in amazon but the content of urea is more than the nitrogen content. I was scared using it.
