Spathoglottis plicatta and Epidendrum radicans live on the sunny hillsides of the Hawaiian island, where they have naturalized. They grow bigger and bloom better the higher up you go so bright light cool temps. Good luck with that combination in Miami. Beautiful collection Teresita.
They do great here for other people. As you have seen in my home visits some people grow them perfectly. I do have a blood red Epidendrum that is thriving in front of my house. It’s in full sun and it’s gorgeous.

Hi Mary, thank you. it is always changing so I try to keep them organized as much as possible, it helps a lot when watering, as I try to keep the orchids together with the same or close to the same watering needs.. LOL

Hi Nicole, Yeah the granular fertilizer definitely gave me a shock with my Vanda, but we learn and get better everyday at taking care of them. She is still fighting, so hopefully in another 6 months or so she will be healthy again and back in action... LOL

Hi Ana, Thank you. The stands that are in the screened porch I got from ALDI grocery store, you have to watch for them as they do not have them all the time. When they come in they go fast. But they are beautiful

I’ve been collecting for about 7 years. But I got real serious about 4 years ago. You should consider joining a local orchid society if there are any available in you city. There you meet allot of like minded people. Hope you meet your orchid buddy soon!💚🤗💚
@@naturenel Thanks! I live in Austin so I think it's the Austin orchid society or it might be Heart of Texas Orchid Society, I'm not sure. I haven't had time to really look into it but I'm thinking about it. I think that might be a good way to get some of the more unusual kinds of orchids that you can't find just anywhere. I have to grow my orchids inside because it gets too hot here in the summer and too cold in the winter so I'm kind of limited to how many orchids I can grow. My dining room is only so big! Thank you so much for all your wonderful content! It's inspiring...

Hi, thank you so much. Honestly my fertilizer schedule is the same as Nelson's low dose weekly and that has really worked for me and improved the health of my plants. For fungal issues I use Physan 20 weekly as a preventative. Only use the stronger anti-fungal products only when I see an issue. This has worked for me.

Nel and Teresita, all of my vandas are under our screened-in patio so none of the iguanas eat our fragrant flowers. I have a ten-foot-tall Mokara mounted on my coconut palm and no one better touch her or else!
The yellow Dendrobium is looks like Den. thongchai gold. There is one other Dendrobium that looks the same that skips my mind right now. If you deep dive into nursery videos of Dendrobiums you can find names of many of those 15$-20$ deals. Dendrobiums are my favorite genus. I'm a into astrology and the life cycle of Dendrobiums gives me 8th house rebirth/transformation vibes they can be like pheonix plants especially the Thelychiton ones.
We are in the talks. It’s just been very hot. Plus, Teresita was doing some redesign and improvements in her garden. I already asked her and she said we definitely need to do another visit. So she’s up for it.

Hi Nicole, Yeah the granular fertilizer definitely gave me a shock with my Vanda, but we learn and get better everyday at taking care of them. She is still fighting, so hopefully in another 6 months or so she will be healthy again and back in action... LOL

Hi Ana, Thank you. The stands that are in the screened porch I got from ALDI grocery store, you have to watch for them as they do not have them all the time. When they come in they go fast. But they are beautiful

I’ve been collecting for about 7 years. But I got real serious about 4 years ago. You should consider joining a local orchid society if there are any available in you city. There you meet allot of like minded people. Hope you meet your orchid buddy soon!💚🤗💚
@@naturenel Thanks! I live in Austin so I think it's the Austin orchid society or it might be Heart of Texas Orchid Society, I'm not sure. I haven't had time to really look into it but I'm thinking about it. I think that might be a good way to get some of the more unusual kinds of orchids that you can't find just anywhere. I have to grow my orchids inside because it gets too hot here in the summer and too cold in the winter so I'm kind of limited to how many orchids I can grow. My dining room is only so big! Thank you so much for all your wonderful content! It's inspiring...

Hi, thank you so much. Honestly my fertilizer schedule is the same as Nelson's low dose weekly and that has really worked for me and improved the health of my plants. For fungal issues I use Physan 20 weekly as a preventative. Only use the stronger anti-fungal products only when I see an issue. This has worked for me.

Nel and Teresita, all of my vandas are under our screened-in patio so none of the iguanas eat our fragrant flowers. I have a ten-foot-tall Mokara mounted on my coconut palm and no one better touch her or else!

The yellow Dendrobium is looks like Den. thongchai gold. There is one other Dendrobium that looks the same that skips my mind right now.
If you deep dive into nursery videos of Dendrobiums you can find names of many of those 15$-20$ deals. Dendrobiums are my favorite genus.
I'm a into astrology and the life cycle of Dendrobiums gives me 8th house rebirth/transformation vibes they can be like pheonix plants especially the Thelychiton ones.
