Maria has an amazing collection 💚 It’s always inspiring to see how others grow their orchids. Mahalo for sharing your beautiful orchids with us Maria and Mahalo Nelson for your wonderful videos 💚🤙🏽
What a wonderful collection, I have seen orchids that I had never seen before, it is truly an eye drop for the pupil, that amount of orchids.❤❤❤❤thank gracias Maria
Wow! Thank you Maria for showing your beautiful orchid collection. Everything was stunning. Such beautiful colours and the yellow pom pom, gorgeous. I don't have any more space, but you have given me some ideas! 😀🦘🦘🦘
Hola Nelson! Nelson like always great video.💚
What an exquisite lush garden of colors. Maria has two green thumbs and the care she gives all of her plants show. Nelson once again thank you for bringing your viewers another example of those who devote time to care for their orchids and plants. Regards :)
Amazing! Thesis for sharing the feeding tips -- I would have never thought to use rooting powder in this way. The results speak for themselves. I hope to find out whether this would work in my climate. Will ask the local orchid society people. But did I say remember to say WOW? 😍
Hola querido Nelson. You are very welcome. And thank you so much for you contribution to my channel. It helps very much offset some of the expenses in my travels to all this wonderful orchid events and nurseries. 🙏🏼
i am very appreciative thdidnt remove entire plant, of coure t you showed the rope tricocentrum. I collected one in the mountains where I live (took a small division off the tree but, of course, did not removed the entire plant) and could not find it in any referece to name it. Thank you so very much.
Hi Nelson, Thank you so very much for releasing such a beautiful video on my birthday. I was wishing for that! I live in Vermont where we just received 2 ft of snow! I also have a Motes Green Goblin that recently bloomed. Nothing like your spectacular collection, but I do okay. Love & blessings, Jeanne
So impressed! No words! So beautiful! “Kelinda!” Really! Thank you for sharing! 🙏So inspired, but sad to say can’t grow the way you guys do there! But still, so inspiring! ❤
Like always spectacular. Every time u go to Maria and Mercedes house I feel inadequate that I don’t have enough orchids 😿😿😿and I am not going to mention the health and abundance of flowers. Thanks
Woooooooooooow! As in WOOOOOOOW!😮 What an inspiration and an amazing collection MARIA. . . I'M MESMERIZED😊. . . LIKE and LOVE it... THANK YOU NATURE NEL for sharing this. .WORTH WATCHING! Re: her feedings - how long do you think she does her early winter feeding before it becomes the spring feeding? Summer time she rests, then early winter she begins again, but for how long? Thank you for the video...so incredibly helpful!!
Here in Miami fall and winter ate very short if. If you live here in Miami you would feed once a month starting in October through February. Beginning of March you amp up the dosage and frequency of feedings. She does hers every 15 days from March to September.
I believe that’s in your end. But editing subtitles would increase my time and editing. I wish I could do it all the time but sometimes I’m not able too.
Wow Wow Wow. Gorgeous. What is the name of the vanda looking plants that are growing upright in the pots? They are spectacular and I would love to add them to my garden. Thank you to Maria for inviting us. You Rock, Nelson.
Hi Nelson thanks for your info, every time I bought cattleya they died, I am so disappointed, the others are doing fine not blooming as yet hopefully they will soon bloom, I want to have different type of orchid setting on my verandah. I dont know what to do anymore. The roots turn brown
Oh boy! That sounds like me. I would kill so many cattleyas that I boycotted them for a while. It wasn’t until I realize I was watering too much and kept them in the wrong medium. Try changing them to a mix of lava rock and charcoal. Put them in terracotta pots. Never in full sun. Bright light yes. Water every other day. See how that works. 👍🏼
@Nature Nel. do your orchids ever suffer from bloom blast ? If so, how do you address this issue? If anyone in the chat wishes to respond, I would appreciate it! Thank you !
Yes. That. Y the most part means it’s thrips. I’ve been using Sevin spray successfully for several months now. I’m shying away from harmful chemicals due to my crops and pets. The only thing is Sevin needs to be used several times before eradicating those buggers. I spray every 3 days for a week and that does the trick.
Hi Nelson. May I know for growers such as yourself or Maria who have tons of orchids, how do you manage repotting? I had 200 orchids once and basically nearly all the media (charcoal or wood) went acidic during each rainy season. Thanks!
We use mainly charcoal and lava rock. If you keep them in an area where you can’t control the water like rain, you will have problems. We keep ours outdoors so the medium is very draining and strong like lava. Stop using wood if it’s getting rain upon rain.
Hi Nelson!! It’s driving me NUTS!! you have more than a couple of times mentioned one of your fave phal vendors called “Blue Ridge Orchids” and I CANNOT find a place ANYWHERE by that name! Do YOU have a contact for that company??? And by the way…if you could list for me who are your favorite places that will SHIP really great NOVELTY PHALS ???!!!! T H A N K Y O U!!!!!!!
Mike Sims, the owner is not really open to the public or a vendor. He’s only on Facebook. He only sells at Krull Smith events. And that’s not always. He was there this April. I did so him how can people buy from him. He is not really in the business of going to shows. Just hit me up on facebook and see if he’s willing to ship you orchids. I just don’t know if he does or not. Good luck!
Maria the Party was well deserved, oh my those orchids are Beautiful 👏👏👏

I’m not sure. I don’t see why not. Perhaps the humidity may be too low. If I were you I would try. Let me know how it does in your environment.
