I have torn my acl twice in the same knee and went through 2 surgeries. I have been told to stay off the board but i just cant. Will try this routine in hopes of decreasing pain and increasing strenght. Thank you!
For the first exercise for the hamstring, I just stuck a 101 Duro Spitfire wheel under my hamstring and that is really doing the Job! Got runners knee and sore hamstrings, this is really helpful thanks for sharing the exercises 👍
Dude!!! Nice job, U know most skaters just run out there and get at it. More of us especially the older skaters need some work. Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but, rotating shoes, and shoe fit is huge too. As an LDP'r we go thru shoes from all the miles and sometimes it's just a matter of swapping out the rubber. If your feet hurt for any reason you'll compensate by pushing awkwardly, and then the kinetic chain unravels. Either way Well Done!!!
Great video. One thing you didn't mention is whether or not you can skate on the days you do the strength exercises. I'm wondering if this video is assuming you're skating every day.
Great stuff, I hadn’t seen those hammie curl variations before and they look super useful to target hams and glutes at the same time! As with your IG content, always clearly explained.. Keep the content coming bro.
Thanks so much legend. Appreciate it. It’s nice with RUclips you can take the time to explain things better in a longer format 👌🏽 Those hammy curl variations are awesome and will light up your hammies which are very underrated when dealing with knee pain 👊🏽
Haha that’s a crazy combination. Bet you got heaps of pop but you’re right they would. Make sure you supplement some unilateral lifts like lunge patterns and hamstring curl variations and you’ll be golden 👊🏽
I'm only 15 and started having problems with my right knee, (I'm goofy stanced) Probably because I skated every day of last summer without any actual warmup and overdoing same things. I have the signs of quad dominance and I hope it will get better with some glute& hamstring exercises after a while.
Bro, I've been skating since I was 7 and I'm 59 now.I also skate and surf goofy foot.My knees are cooked.Gotta get replacements. The best thing I can tell you is take advantage of the new knee brace technology. I use McDavid bionic knee braces.Ive had multiple surgeries and it never got better.I just cruise and carve now.what ever you do dont become hamstring dominant. It causes back issues.I have that because surgeries damaged my quads. I always thought I was invincible but it caught up with me.Keep skating and be safe.
Very common at our age mate. Hit it up and let me know how it goes. For more in depth programming and lecture be sure to check out the program on my site 👊🏽
Skating needs to be done in acertain way to make it actually good for your body. Its good exercise but its gonna destroy your body because it incorporates two states of the body. Fight and flight and the parasympathetic systems like soas, ribs, breathing, diaphragm, neck. You have to make tiny sub movements while kicking your leg hard as possible. Its not like weight lifting where youre calm and relaxed and doing one exercise in the intent of growing an area of the body. At the end of the day all exercise goal is to increase neurological connection. Grow the nervous system. Everyones thinking grow muscles. The nervous system needs to grow Combine that with always wanting to skate Skating everyday And the very common habits of a skater 🌱🍺 Youll wreck your body if you dont take that state of mind through every movement. All major body movement are gonna funnel through the hips. All arm and hand movements are gonna funnel through the ulnar nerve, everyone i see shows sings of entrapment. All movements are gonna funnel through the thoracic outlet, because the nervous system is focusing on keeping your balance to maintain your neck posture.
I had to have an arthroscopy and part of my meniscus removed , due to a tear... skating can cause ganglion in your cartilage and meniscus! Please WARM UP before you skate, do some yoga or stretches when you wake up and before you go to bed, keep building up strength in your knees, otherwise your using your joints instead of your muscles!
Ha I had some mysterious joint pain in one knee which I have never had before, did some of these exercises and then literally could not walk for a few minutes...But gave it a few minutes and it faded and now seems improved. No idea what I did, just landed funny I guess. Hopefully better with a days rest and careful exercises
Hey I’m getting a sore left knee I skate regular and it seems to go away after 30 minutes of skating but hurts really bad at the start.what would this be ?
sounds like Quad Tendon/ Jumpers knee bud. The tendon isn't happy but once you start skating the warm up effect kicks in and you are able to skate relatively pain free. However this is only doing more damage and so when you cool down it lets you know just how angry it is. Would look to engage with a jumpers knee program asap. We have one in the app if you are interested. Its a variation of the program you see here with a couple of really key points addressed to deal with your particular issue 👊🏼
@@skateboardstrength9834 hey I’ve been doing some stretches everyday and I haven’t been skating for about a week and my knee is. Still killing when squat should I go to the doctor ?
Ive injured my knee two times in a row and had to rest my knee for about a month to recover but after thinking it is fine again i injured it again im really scared that ill get permanent damage on my knee because it feels wiggly and loose
Yo I got a lil question. I am dealing with bad knee pain for close to a year now and I have been to all sorts of doctors and Therapists in my area but with little to no help.. Im starting to get a lil better now because of an osteopath. I have that much pain that i cant even do the first "lunge variation" properly.. should i just keep doing the stability moves until i progress or do you have a better idea? Btw love your insta profile and left a Follow.
Yeah exactly keep doing the stability exercises until you can do the entry point lunge with support. Have you tried doing the lunge with support and a reduced range of motion? For example only going as low as you can before you feel pain?
@@skateboardstrength9834 it starts hurting before i can even go down hahaha but thanks for your reply though.. im doing these exercises for about a week and it actually helps so i want to thank you for that. have a nice day!
@@tobiskatet2268 awesome. keep at it dude and hopefully what will happen is the exercises you can do will take effect and begin to allow you to explore the reduced range lunge with support and continue your way back to healthy knee's
I have a question once again.. I recently injured myself again and im on my recovery now. but everytime I do a trick i have a intense fear of injuring myself again wich often leads to me just sitting around.. any help to overcome that fear of injury?
Thank you! I am 28 and just got the time to skate every day but my knees startet to ake pretty quick and now i have started your routin! I have a question. Are you suppose to do the mobility and strengt at thr same time every other day or should you do one of them. Will Return and tell you of my results in the future! Thanx again❤️
Also use covid to just stop skating a month or two and get holidays from work, and slouch a bit. Let that shit rest. That how i been forced to break up with it for a bit, and when i came back.. After a very short readaptation time, I felt surprinsingly stronger... (Not on first sesh ofc) Also im 33 that may not apply to kiddos, but maybe it does.

I would join the app and do the Knee masterclass program mate. Put that bad boy in good shape once and for all 😉
Ah man! This is fantastic. Dealing with knee pain that’s keeping me off my board. Excited to get back. Thank you for all this!

no worries. We got a Jumpers knee specific program in the app if you're ever interested 😉
Sport8ng s miniscus sprain looking to strengthen before I get back on and implement a stout warm up routine

Thanks legend . Thank you for the support 👊🏽👊🏽
Should you do this before a skate sesh or anytime works?
ideally do it on your off days from skating. 2-3 times a week 👊🏼
Enjoyed the info man, do you address any info on helpful supplements to take, I’ve found them to be a big help
Yeah I done a podcast with Dan Garner in which we do a deep dive on best supps for skaters. Can be found on iTunes or Spotify 👊🏽
