    Good to see you wearing a mask pulling out the mouse nests, Dalton at Pole Barn Garage wound up in the hospital with a virus from cleaning out mouse and rats nest from a vehicle without wearing a mask.

      Way too often I see these car channel guys not taking care of their health and safety when working on vehicles old and new. Airborne viruses are no joke and can kill. Anytime there is dust or particles floating in the air, PPE gear should be worn. Brake dust lodged in the lungs, chemicals can be absorbed into your bloodstream through the skin can cause cancer etc. Always remember, safety first.

    The car looked okay at the start, but now, it's an absolute beast now. It looks completely different, especially with the grille being replaced, giving its iconic 'face' again. What a transformation!

    My first car was a 71 Duster with a 318 I bought for a few hundred bucks from my girlfriends dad in 1979. What a great car. Drove it until the wheels fell off, bought new wheels and sold it to a buddy.

    no ceramic but WELL WORTH the investment in touchup paint. Get a pint of single stage and an air brush. EDIT I did not see you do it but it looks like you did spray some damage areas around the trunk...nice!!

    Those old slant six engines were tough as nails. I used to see old slant six taxi cabs with slant six and bald tires run forever.

    Just goes to show you that any car cleaned up looks so much better. I used to like detailing my cars when I was younger. I'd spend a whole day on it. We had mostly Mopars in our family and a few of them were A bodies with both the slant six and 318. Great cars. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to the next segment.

    Been off the road for 30yrs!

    My Grandfather’s first car was a 1972 Duster with the 225 slant six. During the late seventies he put a.275 duration cam in it along with long tube headers and a limited slip rear end with 3.73 gears. As well as a much larger carburetor!

    Absolutely love to see you work together. Try using adhesive remover with lower rpm. Too much heat may damage paint coat, just a tip for future projects. Keep up the good work!

    Stay Tuned recently did a turbo on a slant six in a dodge pickup, worked out great! btw….best to wear eye protection when under a rusty car dropping a gas tank for example…..only get one set of eyes

    Definitely preserve your work by doing ceramic coating. The technology is improving and getting more reasonably priced. Go for it. And yes to dog dish hubcaps, and Hell YES to that turbo!!

    This brought back a lot of old memories for me. I graduated High School in the early 70's and just about every kid had one of these cars! So it was nice to see that your brought it back to life! Will keep watching to see what else you do to it to make it pop!!!

    I remember back in the day that Mopar 225ci slant sixes were decent performers for what they were. You used to be able to get a lot of performance enhancing parts for them as I remember. Really turning out great looking considering how inexpensively you are getting things done. Kinda makes me want one!

    PPE always good. For the inside of your glass: distilled water in a spritzer, 0000 steel wool. Treat it like a wet sand by hand. On the interior: pull the seats and carpets all the way out.

    Never seen them paint a car. I have painted half a dozen. Try it all prep work painting is pretty much easy part. Saving old paint unless not bad is easy way with the patena look.lol.

      Check out our Porsche 911 rebuild. We painted that one 🙂 We have a “booth” but I really enjoy saving old paint. We have some fun full paints coming soon though!!

    I love the decision to wrap the hood, the paint really makes it pop. I think it would look pretty mean if it had the black stripes down the sides like the 340 dusters had. Also can't wait for the turbo install!

    I like to see you guys finish that interior headliner and all boy that dashboard is bad. But yeah unbelievable job turning that pain around. I would get some black hubcaps that would match the hood

    I remember a stunt car group called The Hell Drivers I saw when I was a kid and they used a fleet of Mopars like this. Car looks great; didn’t think the paint was going to shine up like that. My suggestions would be to fix the rusted out spots and retouch them. Also, for the turbo make sure the bottom end can take it; I believe the compression ratio needs to be lower as well so that would have to be looked into to make sure the thing survives.

    I was SO hoping you would choose to turbocharge the six... and I am SO pleased that you did not let me down! I am really looking forward to seeing how you do it. Tony Angelo just did a Turbo build on a slant-six on his Stay Tuned channel. If yours turns out like his, that duster will smoke tires, for sure!

    Try using a P2000 sanding paper instead of P1000. It’s finer grit so should hopefully leave less scratches. Also keep the paper/disk flat to avoid digging into the paint. Love your stuff genuinely great entertainment!👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️

    Hats off to you guys for going with the turbo ! So much more interesting than an engine swap. My 1973 duster is a slant six too. If I had a dollar for every time some guy said , ‘you should swap in a v8’ I’d have a tall stack of money. I will probably leave mine alone. Gonna keep it the way god and Detroit built it.

    Yes a ceramic coating is the way to go. I use Adams graphene. It is amazing stuff and will protect the paint for years with the right maintenance.

      @@juanpabloflores8179They referred to it as a Dodge, there were three during the lifespan of the show, but they were actually Plymouth Dusters. A blue one first, then a gold one, and finally red.

    Chris and Michael, Please consider cleaning up the rust on the rest of the car. Rust-oleum red rust primer clean up the rear and repair the right front fender.

    I love your channel and all the projects you guys work on. I see you regularly wash and detail cars in the sun, but I have a question: Why don't you guys purchase a 10' x 20' heavy-duty car canopy you can place right outside the shop? That way, you can still wash and detail cars outside while staying out of the hot sun and close to the shop.

    next time you guys use wrap put soapy water under the wrap as you apply it will slide around until you are done and let it dry. this approach will keep you from having to peel back to smooth it out. the soap keeps the adhesive from sticking until it dry's.

    I was never a big fan of the Duster. I did, and still do prefer the Valiant which the Duster was based on. However, I do love the orange paint and the Slant Six. You got a great deal.

    I used armor shield on my vehicles. Love it. Cheaper ceramic coating, but holds up well.

    When you are wrapping something you should have soapy water under the wrap so you can get all the bubbles and wrinkles out of it then it can get sweegie it out it also makes it a-lot easier too.

    If you could get injection kit for it that would go great with turbo. Also, keep exh manifold as short as possible before turbine inlet, as well as ducting from compressor to engine inlet. That way you'll minimise lag and boost the power more efficiently.

    Great job sprucing up the car, she looks nice. Get the Duster side and rear stripes with the duster logo. A 3 or 4 speed manual would be nice if you can find for a reasonable price. Some Cragar or factory Mopar Ralleye wheels would make it pop. Usually the small bolt pattern Ralleye wheels can be had for a reasonable price.

    Love your progress, have to caution you on boosting the slant 6 . Their bottom end is not overly robust, check engine master's,Freyberger and friend blew it up

    Turbo is a great idea...lots of sixes out there that are perfectly serviceable, just need some boost!

    If you want to get any contamination out before polishing try clay bar to lift out any bits you cannot see? Keep the six good idea but maybe a four speed to make if feel quicker.
