- Struggling to take down Kulve, but really want that kjaar ice CB? Don't sweat it, I've got your back! Following up from my previous exploit video (regarding doubling MR Kulve Taroth's shiny drops) and my general guide for her (which covers misc tips and how to slay her outright), I have a ridiculously foolproof farming method that doesn't require going past phase 1 or dealing with any DPS checks, that nets you 8 shinies (16 pickups with the exploit) and 4 gold plating carves (which can net you spiralhorns and golden dragonsphires). It takes about 3 minutes for the above 20 drops, and with loading times accounted for you can easily get more than 200 items an hour, mostly shells and scales but also the rest of the drops too! (You will need to slay her once to unlock the melding option for weapons, I believe)

I have a spreadsheet which collects all sorts of data on Monster Hunter World Iceborne that people ask about a lot - things like the materials needed to upgrade the best charms (e.g. handicraft, expert etc), a list of all the guiding land monster drops and gathering nodes (plus it's searchable), what materials you need for every possible augment (attack, affinity, defence, health, slot, element/status) in the game, etc:

It also includes things like a list of ALL the 4 slot decorations (including even the rare 12 ones which ONLY drop from sealed feystones) so you know the best deco's to aim for when farming. It even has detailed images for the guiding land gathering nodes (the one's that drop materials like the guiding dragonbones/crystals etc) which you need for custom weapon upgrades/augments!
My list of guiding land drops can be sorted either by drop type (so it finds the monster to fight for a particular part) or you can use it to just find the parts belonging to any monster (no more pulling your hair out over how to get those Enchanting Finehide/Trancehide for your health augments!). This goes up to and includes the tempered elders (speaking of which, check out my 5 slot tempered investigation farming macro if you haven't already!)
It also has a Safi'Jiiva relic checklist to easily monitor which awakened weapons you're missing from the new siege!

@@billthegold This, plus the tendency to get tired of something that you coldly analyze and break down. Yeah; when you get too caught up in details (like numbers, efficiencies, etc) it doesn't look to different from a job. A game is supposed to be something for fun. One might even say that they ruined the game for themselves.
You could probably pull out 3 or 4 extra materials from her using plunderblade palico. By the time you're done doing your own part, the palico probably should have done two plunder blades on its own and then you can use the manual plunderblade skills from your hot bar while you wait for her to run off.
yup i think i might have edited it out, but I bring my cat despite the occasional aggro issues because it lets us use plunderblade and can have a para weapon

Fantastic video, it's really fun to cheese Kulve like this when you're bored. The only thing I'd say is I don't think you can actually get tailshells from this -- that or I've just been massively unlucky. Still, a fun way to work towards grinding her weapons.

It would be faster to learn how to speed run KT than it is to get that armor lol. Arena quests, I think.

Dodo, they're easy you only need one nice friend who can use more than 1 weapon
hope it helps! dont worry if you cant make guildwork - dropping carving master only loses you one gold plate carve so it isnt a huge loss, but iirc you get it from the mr 125+ style quests for upgrading mantles or something
just take any set you like, and if you need to use stickies/clusts and need more dps to break the horns, add in dps skills like artillery or stuff like sleep atk and slugger for easier stunning

i dunno what it is but the fight is pretty tough, the damage she puts out is pretty insane. i can get to the final phase consistently but struggle with the final phase dps check.. i think i need to swap weapon instead of using sticky / cluster HBG for the final phase
In the video, it looks like you're just doing the clutch claw over and over. Wouldn't a clutch claw "meme" build make more sense except substitute Carving Master for Frostcraft? I guess that would also mean adding critical draw to the build and changing the HBG mods to close range?
i only use the claw to soften the parts, so that the flinch shot into walls breaks them. the actual damage from the claw move is pretty ignorable tbh, and carving master is worth running imo, but frostcraft could be a nice way to help make up the dps if you struggle to break the gold plating and are willing to sacrifice a gold plating carve

Update: Yes, you can get tailshells from this but you must release kulve from her mantle (clear phase 1 and pick up her shiny).. You can just leave the quest afterwards
Spending hours trying to find meta builds for kills that dont need time limited boss weapons like safi or weapons from the boss you need help killing to begin with

YOU DON’T have to kill her to craft her stuff! I was able to before I killed her. However, I was only able to after watching the steamworks cutscene for the first time.

Are you sure you didn't kill her HR version? Because i failed the dps check a couple of times, and never got the option to meld stuff until i killed her, but i have never done the HR version
Edoardo Nardin I’ve killed her multiple times and I never got to meld it. Then one day I ran out of mega potions so I went to the steam work. I got those iron/silver/gold melding tickets, wondering what that was I went to the melder and the two new options were there.

I thought you only need Geology level 1 for double shinies? Works like that in the Guiding Lands.
For kulve you need all 3 levels of it to work, guiding lands only needs 1

@@monkyboyj Still work, just make sure the monster have "bone" item on their shiny item list, otherwise it'll not give you the second pick.
And for additional info, I tried use geology on mantle. What I found is, IF the shiny dropped when geology is NOT active, you can only get one item, even you activate geology afterward. And when the shiny dropped when geology is active, you still get double item even your geology is off.
What is the Defense that I should have for this fight? I am getting killed by the roll with just one hit.
Try use divine blessing
you really want to max out all your armour as much as possible (including augments on armour) and then run a few points of health boost, should get you out of 1-shot range
alternatively, maybe try blademaster? not sure how to do this run without the easy gunning sleep tho

Which Kulve is this? Is this the event Kulve which only drops materials for high rank armor or is this the master ranked Kulve?

Once to get the awakening, but you can get the rarity 9 weapons from high rank KT siege. YOu need these materials to upgrade the high rank weapons to master rank

ill take it tbh, but yeah idk why i overcomplicated it lol
I'll be a basic bitch and say Kulve instead of Kul-Vay, but I'll die before some gets me to say Jaggy instead of Jag-Eye; referencing Jaggi obviously.
if you do solo basically you need to do 57k dmg alone which a pain in the ass. if you try to do duo, you only need to deal 35k each. and if want to do full party you need to do 25k dmg each. (3player run isn't recommended since the kulve health will scale into 4player regardless) i was able to do duo speedrun at 11mins and full party speedrun at 8mins. and will never try to do it solo, its just no fun for me. and well use divine blessing on rocksteady babe.
yeah multiplayer definitely is alot easier from what i can tell, and i cant remember if i left the mantle slots empty, but if i did, it was so that people without upgraded mantles can copy the build. good point tho!

If you struggle against Kulve: 1. You are running divine protection secret, 2. You are running defense boost 7, or 3. You don’t really need her weapons. Hear me out, unless you are trying to speedrun stuff or need to farm the “hardest” monsters like safi or tempered ruiner nergi, you don’t need these weapons. My advice will be practice, get good then get her weapons. Her weapons on people who are struggling against her won’t make you a better hunter, practice will.
i agree to a degree, although these quests are timed exclusives and only come back subject to the devs whims, so i also understand why people really want to get the weapons while the quest is active, by any means needed
Cons OA I agree with you. I am just saying some people need to stop trying to get higher damage weapons when the best dps is playing better. But this guide will helps lots of people, but in my opinion Kulve is one of the better fights for me right now; you have to balance dps and survivability to get it completed. Her and tempered nergi is who I use to test my sets to see if they are enough dps. Like always appreciate the reply and the video, keep it up man ❤️👍🏼

Honestly just git gud. Kulve taroth is ok with any weapon and a lot of elements are goods as well, kinsect glaive is fine for phase 1 and 3(1 for mount and 3 for KOs), there are great openings for heavy weapons in every phases, slash, piercing/spread and even stickies are okish(for P3 particulary imho). I would not bring status weapons other than bullets/arrows, you want to have the procs at the right moments of the fight.
Tenderise torso head 2x wall bump > mount > horns for P1 (multiplayer only, in solo you tenderize 2x wall bump few dmg on torso and she is melting already)
Wall Tople > Para if available on the volcano > 1 or 2 falling rock P2 (finish horns if possible in P2 to be relaxed for looting in P3)
Poison bombs > Sleep into topple if available > Stuns or just playing right P3
=> 7 to 10mn runs with full carve, loots everything, bring your best gear as well(with fully upgraded armors), if you farm a monster at least farm it properly, no fancy stuff (geo 1 is fluff IF you want)
Kulve is frustratingly RNG to fight normally though especially in area 1 with her fucking rolling around the map. This method seems like a guaranteed way to get drops rather than constantly wiffing the clutch claw and her positioning with something like GS.
Killing her in a decent time relies on getting the 5 wall bangs (very easy to whiff especially if you have to CC her twice, and land far away from her, so you can't get off the second wallbang before she enrages)
Also relies on the stalactites (very easy to fuck up because the hitbox on it is dumb). It's also possible for the stalactites to break her horns thus cutting out the extended trip, which is a massive potential damage loss
the final area fight is just absolute cancer. Very easy to die to some random BS, which in turn can kill the run because it's a full minute of you not doing damage to the DPS check.
Also you've got to remember that most of the time you will fail to pick up h shinies because you're too busy fighting. The fact they made this quest have a hidden timer when you really should be picking up all the drops is nonsense.
