@@Amoeba_Podre lol I use cons frostcraft greatsword set but add partbreaker and run around for ages trying to cut his tail then end quest. It usually takes me around 10 mins and I think that's long enough for the Palico to gather 4. Plus you can get azure spires from tail carves too
For the tail just use a switch axe axe mode quick uppercut while having partbreaker and the axe mode buff and trust me you will get his ass in like a minute...
I have been doing a lot of runs as follows: 1. Sticky LBG with fortify + partbreaker 3: put mines during KOs, you should be able to easily break wings and horn before first EJ. You should have enough ammo to last until EJ. Cart to first EJ (obviously). 2. Elemental fire+ice LBG (with fortify): finish the fight. If you die more than 3-4 mins after first EJ you can even eat again for safeguard and still have a trump card. I did a PB at 13-14mins, I was quite happy with it.
i may try that with the HBG. Use Wyvern ammo and barrel bombs for the knockdown. i suck at evade reload for the aquashot. Does elemental ammo with partbreaker work on the wings??
@@pdureska7814 When I go elemental from the start of the quest, I'm able to break the wings with appropriate elemental ammo for the phase without parbreaker. Shooting from one wing to the other is one of the best angles for shooting, alongside head to tail and tail to head.
I know the feeling, when ever I try clutch claw right away without Rocksteady Mantle I get launched off and when I have it on he immediately does a move while I'm clutched on that takes almost all my health. Yet I see these videos where people just casually run up Claw without and problems. Alatreon is a like a pissed off Honey Badger every time I fight him
Seriously his is about 10x lazier than mine. Anytime my claw touches his wings. He does that dragon run that hits for like 100 damage and immediately fire strikes me while im trying to get up dying in about 10 seconds. He Seriously never bothers with his slow lightning. Strickly dragon rush and fire.
I don't know if you've already made a video about it, but for the Tail and the gem I use a similar tactic: GS with sleep status + palico with sleep weapon, spamming the grapple "tenderizing" attack until I cut the tail. If he fall asleep you can use the 3d charged GS's attack to cut the tail. It takes me 3-4 minutes and you'll get 2 tail or 1 tail + 1 gem
You can easily get a weapon in a couple hours tops, and if you want the armor take a sever weapon and cut the tail. Brilliant guide considering one of the best ways to beat alatreon is its own lbg.
Farming Alatreon with plunder blade gets about 4 material per attempt (pre-instadeath). 2 people work better than 1. You can build the armor without ever beating Alatreon.
Gonna necro this for anyone progressing through Alatreon like me. You can't build Alatreon's armor with plunderblade only as skyswayers (horns), wings and tails don't drop from plunderblade.

Do you consistently, frequently, or occasionally get the results you did in this video? Because I've been killed so many times with this method, I can't seem to consistently keep the wings tenderized, and I can't consistently get the flinch shots. How did you have the patience for this? Because that is commendable
kinda, often ill have a cart half way or miss a wallbang, but other than that it's usually like this. the key is getting used to the weird movement of the HBG i think - i used it a fair bit in the past so i might just be more used to it's weirdness

Can i do it in early alatreon? I just finished shara and just unlock the assignment for alatreon but i cant play multiplayer can i still use this method?
i have broken the first horn 10 or 11 times but no Dragonshire yet (i think fextralife said the drop rate was 8% with Skyswayer being 92%). i haave not killed him. i use Kjarr HBG Ice to get the topple for the elemental threshold, then i die and go to camp and use sticky heavy bowgun to break the horn. i will just keep farming this until i get that dragonsphire part then i think i will try this for the wing or perhaps just use the elemntal HBG to hammer the wings and then come back with the heavy bowgun with sticky an dhammer the wing and see if i can break it.

Any time he feels my claw get near he does that dragon rush for nearly all ny hp and while i do that long ass layinging down thing he follows up with fire to kill me in 10 seconds. How is yours so damn lazy and chill? Mine runs more than usian bolt.

it depends on how frequently you hit the wings! With flinch shot damage alone if you keep the wings tenderised, they'll break eventually, but the sleep and guaranteed wing hits from this set are really useful for making it quicker. you might end up having to wait for another denrage to get two more flinch shots off
This guide has given me hope to farm direwings. But as a melee weapons main, the ranged weapon controls threw me off no matter how much I changed the controls to resemble melee weapons, there are still some fundamental differences and melee weapon muscle memory carts me everytime. In addition to Alatreon's relentless flailing (unlike this video), I could barely tenderize or wall slam it. Overall it just felt like a different gameplay and everything was chaotic. Watching this now have the reverse effect on me 😥
Yeah I avoid ranged weapons like the plague SPECIFICALLY because of the control differences that you can't fix. But you should be able to still take the same principles with a heavy hitting weapon with tenderize hits(idk what technically does comparable damage to heavy bowgun but probably swaxe, GS, or hammer) And then do the flinch shots as well and theoretically should have a similar outcome. I'm realizing I'm 9 months late but just wanted to sympathize with the horrible ranged control scheme

No. I haven't beaten the special assignment yet, but I was using the plunderblade to farm parts. The gear showed up in the smithy after getting a riptalon, I think.
I’ve killed Alatreon 6 times now and still have not gotten one wing and the sad part is I’ve gotten so many dragonsphire it’s not even funny. Why can’t I just be able to trash one of my dragon shire for a wing
I broke his wings using the kinsect meme build, it's doable.. once you broke his horn twice, and then shut down his power, constantly hitting his wings will break it... around 28 mins i able to finish it..
I have made the build without Crit / Bit cause there super rare and tried 15+ attempts and he just kills me and I can never get the wall bang. Even tried to just claw and tenderize my way to a wing. Don't care about the horn. Just need a single dire wing. Can't get it.
ha, what hack did you use for all those deco's i have over 600hours (near 700) and only have 1 i repeat ONE Mind's Eye deco and STILL DON'T have a Mighty Bow deco.

There's quite a bit of disinfo in the comments, everything in this vid works perfectly. Damage hasn't been nerfed, the hbg used still uses sleep 2 etc. One thing to point out for ppl attempting this though is that the wallbang damage in the 2nd alatreon assignment is pathetic. It's like 200 dmg so you're better off just clutch clawing in that assignment. His wings have about 2500 health in that one so it's pretty easy.
i think alot of the complaints come from the fact that this method is harder than I give it credit for. iirc I did this after quite a bit of regular alatreon farming, so I was really comfortable with its moveset and knew when to go for claw hits and stuff like that, but the people who need it most likely would struggle with that, so it'd look like my alatreon was much more cooperative than theirs and yeah with the new alatreon, honestly this method seems entirely obsolete. that thing has so little HP, you could probably just place a few bombs and have the parts broken or something >.
I wallbanged him 5 times with wounded wings and they still wont break. This thing is driving me mad. Wish they took their time properly designing alatreon instead of making us resort to this.
i was thinking to myself "what am i doing wrong, why can't i break those damn wings i basically do the same thing as in the video" took me 3 failed tries to farm for materials this way to realize that i forgot to customize my bowgun. i never claimed to be smart, just lazy
works amazingly btw. also a small hint, if you only have 1 destroyer jewel you can also use stygian zinogre arms since they have level 2 partbreaker on them.

there is 4 specific walls (higher stones) you need to bash his head EXACTLY at THOSE stones! Easier method is to do it when he is flying, time your attack and you can do it without wall if he is flying.
@@ConsOA Yeah, only the last hit I think does partbreak? But something like a hammer claw to the face does break damage all the way down. It's stupid. And glaive has one of the shittiest claw controls in the game, because you need an R3 swap AND rolling cancels it. All I want is for rolling to keep your selection for claw/kinsect, and for every hit of slash flurry and tenderize attack to do proper fucking partbreak damage. And for downthrust's kinsect call to work with a bug that's already out.
no clue 90% of the clutches he hits me even with rocksteady i have to trade alot and right afterwards he dashes into me wich i then cant avoid and most of the time he runs to the other side of the map i can only keep running after it or wait a minute till he comes back wich then is usually flying when my mantle ran out
it takes a bit or practise because of how aggro alatreon is, and its very different to the normal fight, so its understandable that youd struggle a bit at first
Doesn't seem very reliable from testing he knocks you off far too often, probably better to use sticky ammo lbg. HBG is just too clunky for a fight with this much RNG.
I feel a shield hbg build would work as well. The only two thing I believe that would be of worry are his ice breath and his fire breath into the ground
So I don’t wanna throw shade but I’ve noticed quite a few variations in your game to normal games. First your alatreon is almost in a slowed state. Whenever you grapple on he never sprint spams, also when you throw him onto a wall your dealing almost double the damage as I and others did by flinch shoting him into a wall. I shot him into a wall a solid 6 times and no pet break all while tenderized. Either my games bugged or yours is fucked
Threes drops I was able to get beside dragon treasure 2 of the last upgrade items are the same as the first version the second one needs a azure dragonsphire and direwings

It's possible to get them from carting outright. I got one from failing.

The wall bang is the most hardest thing to do with him. 30x now and still no luck the breakpart his wing

it's a single bar as far as i can tell, they even share tenderise status (you only need to tenderise one wing and both get softened)

For me, I completed the second Alatreon quest where his health has been nerfed. That first quest is pure torture and takes too long to kill him

There's quite a bit of disinfo in the comments, everything in this vid works perfectly. Damage hasn't been nerfed, the hbg used still uses sleep 2 etc. One thing to point out for ppl attempting this though is that the wallbang damage in the 2nd alatreon assignment is pathetic. It's like 200 dmg so you're better off just clutch clawing in that assignment. His wings have about 2500 health in that one so it's pretty easy.
i think alot of the complaints come from the fact that this method is harder than I give it credit for. iirc I did this after quite a bit of regular alatreon farming, so I was really comfortable with its moveset and knew when to go for claw hits and stuff like that, but the people who need it most likely would struggle with that, so it'd look like my alatreon was much more cooperative than theirs
and yeah with the new alatreon, honestly this method seems entirely obsolete. that thing has so little HP, you could probably just place a few bombs and have the parts broken or something >.

i was thinking to myself "what am i doing wrong, why can't i break those damn wings i basically do the same thing as in the video" took me 3 failed tries to farm for materials this way to realize that i forgot to customize my bowgun. i never claimed to be smart, just lazy
works amazingly btw. also a small hint, if you only have 1 destroyer jewel you can also use stygian zinogre arms since they have level 2 partbreaker on them.

there is 4 specific walls (higher stones) you need to bash his head EXACTLY at THOSE stones! Easier method is to do it when he is flying, time your attack and you can do it without wall if he is flying.

@@ConsOA Yeah, only the last hit I think does partbreak? But something like a hammer claw to the face does break damage all the way down. It's stupid. And glaive has one of the shittiest claw controls in the game, because you need an R3 swap AND rolling cancels it.
All I want is for rolling to keep your selection for claw/kinsect, and for every hit of slash flurry and tenderize attack to do proper fucking partbreak damage. And for downthrust's kinsect call to work with a bug that's already out.

Avoid the roll cancel. Use the air jump clutch. I miss shittier to aim. So really they both suck.

90% of the clutches he hits me even with rocksteady i have to trade alot and right afterwards he dashes into me wich i then cant avoid
and most of the time he runs to the other side of the map
i can only keep running after it or wait a minute till he comes back wich then is usually flying when my mantle ran out
it takes a bit or practise because of how aggro alatreon is, and its very different to the normal fight, so its understandable that youd struggle a bit at first

Doesn't seem very reliable from testing he knocks you off far too often, probably better to use sticky ammo lbg. HBG is just too clunky for a fight with this much RNG.
I feel a shield hbg build would work as well. The only two thing I believe that would be of worry are his ice breath and his fire breath into the ground

So I don’t wanna throw shade but I’ve noticed quite a few variations in your game to normal games. First your alatreon is almost in a slowed state. Whenever you grapple on he never sprint spams, also when you throw him onto a wall your dealing almost double the damage as I and others did by flinch shoting him into a wall. I shot him into a wall a solid 6 times and no pet break all while tenderized. Either my games bugged or yours is fucked
