A wrangler and a rounder are cowboy terms. If he is working as a cowboy, he knows that he can’t truly afford to love this woman even though she is the closest thing to love he has know because of the demands of the job. She is like the love he heard in a love song. ❤

In their era of the 1970's , a rock musician or popular band like The Marshall Tucker Band , could easily equate to the life of a cowboy from a hundred years earlier . You Are Always on the move , having to go from town to town , which is what the job calls for and "settling down" is an impossibility .

He is talking about having a girl in every town he visits. Its part of being a musician. I really miss these guys me and my uncles use to pick with them in the 80s at barn parties they was the nicest guys you will ever meet. This song was huge in skate rinks in the late 70s and early 80s. My daughter still has a tambourine they signed and gave her in the 80s for her birthday she's 35 now. It's one of her prized possessions. Well other than a guitar strap Stevie Ray gave her.. rip brother

MTB was one of the great Southern Rock bands of the '70s. Their blend of jazz, blues, country and rock was awesome. They were a favorite of mine. If you only listen to one of their albums (but why listen to just one?), I'd recommend "Carolina Dreams".

  • @dunhill1

I'm so surprised, pleasantly, that you reacted to this song and this great Southern Rock Band. I am also from South Carolina as this band and when this album Carolina Dreams came out, it was super popular and FM played this song frequently. I still love listening to it 40 years later. Thanks for reacting for this song and band. I love your reactions; therefore, I am now a subscriber based on this reaction video. Please continue to explore great southern rock music.

Another cool reaction from you guys, how about doing a reaction video to one of the greatest guitar players ever. Rory Gallagher- Calling Card-Hammersmith Odeon 1977 ( Live ), Rory was just a amazing musician and very respected by his peers. Rory was very amazing playing live and his concerts are legendary, he sold over 30 million records thru the 1970's. Check out Rory Gallagher, the Irish guitar wizard. Thank you 🤩.
