The “Neon Moon” is the neon beer signs often found in the country bars. He’s got a table in the back under the neon moon where he goes every night to think absolutely the woman he lost.
It's the neon beer sign in a bar, been there and done that many times and still think of her!!!
Of course, BP thinks of a strip club!!
Back in the day it was not just the beer signs, there were all kinds of neon lights in bars.
Oh good. That's what I always thought, but then I thought maybe I just drink too much 😂
There used to be a popular neon sign in bars and some restaurants with an actual full moon and brand name back in the 80s and 90s.
I'll add a vote for My Maria. Love the vocal yodeling going on in that one.
Favorite song is My Maria
Yes. Live at Cain's Ballroom
Top 3 for me
My Maria was the song my grandma requested for her funeral never seen a group of mourners crack a smile like that bc “only Nannie would do that” loved that woman miss her so much. Such a unique soul
Brooks and Dunn ‘My Maria’ is another B&D much loved, classic.
I love My Maria....
BP will lose his mind over "My Maria". Love that song.
I enjoyed B W Stevenson’s original in the 70’s, but Brooks and Dunn did it so wonderfully in the 90’s that I got to love it all over again.
Agreed!!! My Maria is my fav by this duo! ❤
I like the version that Austin Brown and Tim Foust did in the back yard.
When this first came out, you could not turn on your radio without hearing this. He's in a bar lamenting his loss under a NEON moon.
BROOKS and DUNN are just awesome the voice and the story telling are just fantastic.....more please.......BROOKS and DUNN...
Brooks and Dunn never misses. So glad I grew up listening to them and classic country music. ❤
Ronnie Dunn is absolutely one of the best voices in music. You should listen to "My Maria!" This song demonstrates the versatility of his voice.
All dancers hit the dance floor when Brooks and Dunn starts playing.
That couples line dance is epic
They used to call the country duo of the year award , the Brooks and Dunn award in the 90s
You would love George Strait’s The Chair!!! Beautiful ❤
Anything from Gearge Strait is GOLD. Best Love song....Cross My Heart. Cool song, The Chair. Ocean Front Property.....
@BP, Gearge Strait ..."Croos My Heart" will go on Your Forever Play List.
He's talking about the neon lights in that hang on the walls in the bars that advertise specific alcohols
His "My Maria" is EPIC!!! His control FLAWLESS!!! This is probably his best song - so powerfull!!!
which was a remake from B. W. Stevenson they sound like the same
This was huge for Brooks and Dunn, arguably Country’s greatest duo.
The only argument I can even imagine is Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, and they come from such different eras, I'm happy to let both duos stand on their own.
This was on the radio - every five minutes - and we all turned it up EVERY SINGLE TIME!
A friend of mine had just lost his wife of 36 years to cancer when this song came out. They had grown up together, married young, and she was only 52 when she died. He dove to the bottom of a whiskey bottle and didn't come up for air for a while. He was a great guy, and even when he was drinking heavily you wouldn't have known it by his words and actions. After a time, we began to date and went to see Brooks and Dunn in concert. We were married for 27 years. Now I've lost him. He died on his 82nd birthday. He bought this CD for me when we were dating, and while we both felt this song, "Brand New Man" was my favorite cut.
I'm sorry you have lost him. He does sound like a good man. ❤ I lost a good man after 32 years together. I've thought of drinking but it just isn't me.
So sorry for your loss! 🥰
Brand New Man is one of my favs too!
Sorry for all your losses I lost my wife two years ago after 44 yrs together she was my one and only again sorry
Thanks for sharing this memory ❤
😢
Killing me, these two are just so.... "Watch your broken dreams dance in and out of the beams of a neon moon.". They are masters of heartbreak songs
My Maria, Hard Workin’ Man, they have so many hits.
Aw man, nobody can sing like Ronnie Dunn. I have loved this group since I was a child and I will never get sick of playing their music. Whatever mood you're in or whatever trouble you're going through, Brooks and Dunn have a greatest hit for you.
Cow Gurls Don't Cry. They are good friends of Reba McIntyre. She grew up on a wirking ranch. She ride and roped, the whole nine yards. She rode in rodeos. Anyway, when her Daddy died Ronnie wrote the story of it in this song. At the end of the song she comes in and sings. It's such a beautiful, heartbreaking, bittersweet song.
You could try their break out hit "Brand New Man." That's what made the world fall in love with Brooks and Dunn!
“Copperhead Road” by Steve Earle 😁
A great story teller
I think he did this a while back.
@@amykiel I don’t believe so - at least it’s not coming up in search.
Great song!
A must!
They were so great in concert! My Maria is one of my favorite songs of theirs 😊
Mine too ❤
I saw them 3 times in concert twice they were with Reba, and Ronnie just belts 'em out while Kix puts on an energetic show!
During my brief journey into country music, early '90's, I did 3 country concerts but they were big ones. Won tickets to see Reba, was invited by friends in Ford's private box in Detroit and saw Garth and saw Brooks & Dunn. I saw the best although Alan Jackson needed to be in there too. David Lee Murphy and Leeann Womack opened for Brooks & Dunn.
I'm an old rocker and i absolutely love this country song. And i'm not talking after the fact; i loved it when it came out. Even though i am definitely a rocker I'm also from alabama. I spent quite a bit of time in run down bars and honky-tonks in my younger days. Between those bar days and my dad's music i can't help but like me some country too.
Check out "Red Dirt Road," " Only in America," and their collaboration with Reba "If You See Him, If You See Her." All excellent, and the Reba duet is absolute fire.
And their duet with Reba….Cowgirls Don’t Cry.
There won't be a music video, but remember the name Garth Brooks? One of the biggest solo country artists in The 90's. He raps on Ain't Goin' Down ('Til The Sun Comes Up).
Yes, you definitely have to listen to both Garth Brooks and Chris Ledoux. Garth Brooks is still alive, but Chris LeDoux sadly passed away years ago. They both have a lot of great music. Sadly, Chris LeDoux passed away before I could see him in concert, but I have seen Garth Brooks in concert and it was beyond amazing. He even came out for like one or two additional encores after the concert. This is back in 2014.
I saw Chris LeDoux at Billy Bobs it was such a great concert. A true cowboy.
@@katyoung6028I was at Billy Bob’s he the night it opened in the Stockyards! Thousands of patrons were there! Amazing!
Neon Moon is considered one of the best songs to Two-Step Dance to ever!
I was dancing (in my mind) while listening to this!! My old back & knees don’t let me dance anymore!
They know how to make you visualize a life experience with their words.
Brooks and Dunn win duo of the year a record breaking 14 times! They are that good! To truly understand how talented they are you must listen to "My Maria", "Cost of Living" and "You Don't Know Me"! 3 of my favorites! Thanks! 🤠
The words of Every sad song seems to say what I think!! My favorite line of this 🎵
When I first heard that line, I thought it was very "Williams-esque"
I knew you’d get it by the end! Great song! Great reaction!
The rhythm! This is my favorite Brooks and Dunn song.
Yes! A great song to line dance to. Where I was from, we had a couple's line dance for this song. So much fun had in the 90s!
I guarantee the more country music u listen to, u will very quickly become a country music fan!! So much great music and messages in county music!! Here's a few of my favorites....
*Tracey Lawrence - Time marches on
*Craig Morgan - That's what I love about Sunday
*Collin Raye - Love me
*The Judds - Grandpa
*Tim McGraw - Don't take the girl
*George Strait - Check yes or no
*Garth Brooks - Unanswered Prayers
*Kenny Chesney - There goes my life, The good stuff
*Brad Paisley - Whiskey Lullaby feat Alison Krauss
Definitely some JUDDS ❤
My Maria is fantastic! Ronny Dunn’s vocals are unbelievable!
Chris Ledoux "This Cowboys Hat" think you'd enjoy it
He's done that one. You'll enjoy it.
@Teresia12 More Chris LeDoux please! He's got an impressive resume for someone who died so soon.
@@Teresia12 do you have the link to it? None of my searches are finding it.
Chris Ledoux is absolutely an amazing artist. I wish he was still alive.
UPDATE: I had to update this because I didn’t realize voice to text would get part of it wrong.
Brooks and Dunn have not ever recorded a song that isn't just FANTASTIC! 👍
I'm 53 and I absolutely love watching your reactions. It's like hearing the music for the very first time. I LOVE IT! 💖
Me tooo
Me three same vintage loving it
A couple of my favorite songs from Brooks and Dunn are “ Red Dirt Road” “ Used To Be Mine” and the song “ Husbands and Wives “. All stellar
I second Red Dirt Road
I saw Dwight Yoakum on your video after this song went off.
You should definitely look him up and his song, Guitars, Cadillacs and Hillbilly Music!! I think you will really like his style!! Its an upbeat song and his voice is great!
Love Dwight.
Yes, Dwight has several great songs. Don’t miss out on him.
He's talking about sitting in the back of the bar, missing a list love. But they have neon beer signs in bars. Please watch "Rock my world (Little country girl)". GREAT SONG! Also, please play "Drinkin my Baby goodbye" by: Charlie Daniels Band. Another country song about being in a bar Drinkin you're blues away...o inly much more upbeat because it Charlie.
They are some of the best for sure. FYI there is a beer called Blue Moon and they had a neon sign in a bar I went to years ago that I think of every time I hear this song.😁
In addition to "My Maria," I'd also suggest "That Ain't No Way to Go" and "Hard Workin Man" and "She Ain't the Cheatin Kind" and "Rock My World" and, finally, sung with Reba McEntire: "If You See Him/If You See Her" as they were all chart toppers.
This song will fill a dance floor. Love to Texas two step to this song.
Speaking of Copperhead Road!! You have to hear Steve Earle sing it. And talk about a man that didn’t care what Nashville thought about him!! A true rebel. Brooks and Dunn are timeless. They were always duo of the year at awards shows for many seasons. Catch them on one of their rare tours! I just saw them in Las Vegas along with Reba on the same bill. An unforgettable experience!
Steve Earle is amazing. Copperhead road but also guitar town too.
One of my all time favorite country duo group. Almost all their songs are great.
Oh be still my heart! I could listen to Ronnie Dunn's voice all day long! These two have so many wonderful songs. Thank you!
"My Maria" and "Brand New Man" are must 💯 I know what you like from watching you so much n brand new man is about how he used to be player , which you always relate to from your past 😂 , but now he's changed from his new love. It's their 1st single from their 1st album with the same name. And it has a video !!
He's in a bar crying over his beer and looking at the neon sign.I have listened to this song hundreds of times just love them and you.thanks.
90's Country is still amazing! Ronnie Dunn's voice is incredible and Kix Brook was the perfect match for him. They won so many awards together
Crying in the bar reminiscing your lost luv under the neon lights in the bar listening to sad music
"MY MARIA" is a song that they did, and it is really beautiful. (It is a remake of an earlier version by B.W. Stevenson..which is really nice too!)
I forgot to tell you yesterday Ronnie Dunn usually sings but kicks brooks has some songs were he sang. Theres a song called{ Your going to miss me when im gone}. Theres a few more but thats a good one.
" Rock my world, little country girl " is another one Kicks sings. 👍
Lost and Found is my favorite song where Kix sings the lead.
This brings back nights of dancing. 3-4 nights a week... back in the day. Great memories!
A great song. As soon as it came out it became so popular. People still love to slow dance to it
Love your reactions, keep em coming. Pueblo
Country bars are famous for neon lights, especially in the 80’s & 90’s. Usually advertising for types of beer.
Brooks and Dunn You’re Gonna Miss Me When I’m Gone, one of the few songs that Kix sings. So good
Brooks & Dunn that song was about the neon lights that used to be in every bar whether it was country every bar had neon lights and neon signs back then
BP, I've always liked the Dunn and Brooks song, "Only in America." It speaks to the opportunities available to everyone in the U.S.A.....their best line in the song is "everybody gets a chance, everybody gets to dance."
This is the best buckle-polishing, belly-rubbing two-step tunes since "Cab Driver" by the Ink Spots.
Now react to B+D's Play Something Country,
There's a good song right on the Album Cover.. I'm a Brand New Man!!
No matter where I’ve gone in this world, Brooks and Dunn always made me feel like I’m back home in Oklahoma.
Look up how many awards they've won??
This is an amazing song!
Neon moon.....under that light in the bar!! Great!!
“play something country” you will laugh so hard - official video. Think ZZ Top videos.
Neon moon aka neon sign that hangs in the bar.
You can't go wrong with any of their songs. I like That Ain't No Way To Go. It really shows off Ronny Dunn's vocals. A good duet with Reba McEntire is Have You Seen Him/Have You Seen Her
Hey BP,
There is a song called Copperhead Rd by Steve Earle. It’s a cool song that’s a mix of country and southern rock. Also, Gary Alan is an artist you should check out. Two songs that are complete opposites but both really good: You Made a Man of Me and Tough Little Boys. Another of his songs is I Get Off On The Pain. 🤟
LOL!! "Was this on the radio?" Hell yeah it was. Along with dozens of stellar B&D songs.
Red Dirt Road, Ain't No Way to Go, How Long Gone, Lost and Found, She Used to Be Mine, Believe. You could listen all day.
Honky Tonks had those neon beer signs all over inside. The smoke from cigarettes made a haze . It was its own ecosystem inside these clubs. Watch John Travolta's movie Urban Cowboy.
My favorite Brooks & Dunn song! Thank you for reacting to this one! ❤ Much love to and your beautiful family.
Edit: Just finished watching, and you got it. 😄 Took ya a min, but I knew you'd get there. Loved this!
Bein from Texas, I boot scooted, and neon mooned, a fair bit. Nothing like a man in a cowboy hat, boots, and pair of Wranglers, 2-steppin a lady around the floor. 😅Oh to be young again! ❤ This was fun, BP... Thank you!
This is my Jam! Favorite songs by them!
I first heard this song at a bar with my parents when I was like 8 😂. It was a jukebox that cost like 25 cents a song. I was born in the 80s
YES! More 90s country please!!! The classics are the classics for a reason (and I'm a biased 90s kid) but the 90s perfected the country formula. So, so, so many incredible artists and songs.
100%!
My Maria, She Used to be Mine, Hard Workin Man, Brand New Man, That Ain't No Way To Go, My Next Broken Heart, Lost and Found.... there's so many Brooks and Dunn to love.
I will also say my Maria's really awesome one of my favorites
When this came out, I was a manager at Sam Goody music. Store in was a Tuesday and I put this out to play Over the system and sold out of them the 1st day.
'watch your broken dreams dance in and out of the beams of a neon moon'! Thats a bar!!
Red dirt road, my Maria, play something country, you’re gonna miss me when I’m gone…..all awesome!
please do Brook & Dunn rock my world little county girl
My favorite Brools & Dunn song.
This is one of my all time favorite songs. The Neon moon is the neon lights of the bar. He lost his love and is reminiscing. He's telling people if you lose your love, there's a barstool ready and waiting
These guys were huge back in the day and on the radio allll the time love it!! and yes in a country bar there are neon signs on the walls :)
Love the education on "Dunn", but this duo is Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn in case you didn't get millions of comments on that yet. "Brand New Man", "My Next Broken Heart", "Hard Workin' Man" and "Rock My World (Lil Country Girl" are f'n amazing! Oh! You mentioned a club called Copperhead Road? There's a song by Steve Earl of the same name...and yes..there's a line dace to that one too.
Oh my gosh I used to dance to that copperhead road song every single night At a little country bar in Georgia called gilly's I loved that song I was always exhausted at the end of it cause it's a pretty hype dance but Loved every minute of it Copperhead road line Dance and tequila sunrise out of a bucket Dance and tequila sunrise out of a bucket.
I really truly love older country music from the late 80s through the 90s everything after that is no bueno 🫤
Their cover of "My Maria" is really good too!!
You have to react to Alan Jackson......especially "Gone Country".
You may be HipHop but brother you got a country bone in there also. Love your reactions.
One of my favorite Brooks and Dunn songs is Lost and Found. They are great. A very distinctive sound and voice.
Try Steve Earl... Copperhead Road! If that's what you were talking about!!
Perfect song perfectly sung.
When this came out I think every major southern city and even some smaller ones opened a bar called “Neon Moon”
You should check out some Garth Brooks and vince Gill. You won't be disappointed.
This is real country music
New subscriber. HULK SMASH THE LIKE BUTTON. I would like to see what you think about JamWayne"No Problem "!.
You got it. And yes, this was definitely one of their biggest hits! I still jam it. Brooks & Dunn are country greats and they have hit after hit. When you hear one of theirs...you know it's them.
I had a friend in high school who made it his mission to introduce me to country music (I grew up outside NYC) and this was one of the first songs I fell in love with.
please do Brad Paisley online
This whole album is incredible. No skips. Great album to play while shooting pool and drinking beer!
Hi BP,
There are a few songs that I really think you will enjoy especially as a parent.
1. George Strait I Saw God Today
2. Watchin’ You by Rodney Atkins
3. Buy a Boy a Baseball by Granger Smith. He wrote the song for his son
4. I Kill Spiders by Granger Smith. He wrote the song for his daughter
You should really check out "When the Thunder Rolls by Garth Brooks"!! Similar emotion, feeling as Neon Moon.
