Greatest thing about this song is when you are driving and nobody is in your car so you can try to hit that high note without embarrassing yourself!!!
When people react to this, I always want to comment about how it's the song you wish you could actually sing along to. 😂
And we've all tried it
Correct, sir!! 😊
Even better is when you have three people and everyone tries to hit it lol.
This one was written and recorded in 1973 by B.W. Stevenson, a Dallas native. Stevenson had his career tragically cut short, dying from an infection after a heart valve surgery at age 38.
Ronnie Dunn sounds like him when he sings the song.
I thought I remembered it...Al those road trips in Tejas.
I'm 61 and this song STILL gives me chills. Ronnie Dunn even sounded like this in live performances. They were the verified Dynamic Duo, just sayin.
Totally agree! Saw them in concert a couple of years ago. They were awesome!
@@anpweed Us too... This song sounded the same in person... It was great!
Yep, I’ve seen them numerous times & they sound just like they do on the radio. They have actual talent!
I don't think Brooks and Dunn made a bad song. You can just pull them up and start reacting and ever song will impress. They have serious love songs, working man songs, playful songs, life songs. Ronnie Dunn is one of the best vocalist ever
That being said, Kix Brooks can sing as well. Doesn't matter which one is at the mic, the song is still going to be the sort that aspiring country singers can only dream about. (And I'm not that big of a country fan.)
I liked this song when B.W.Stevenson did it in 1973
They didnt make this. B.W. Stevenson did in 1973.
@@xScooterAZx Whether or not they wrote it, or were the first to release it, they did "make" this version of it. The original version has been well represented elsewhere in the comments.
@@cassianfalkener3706 I can add my two cents as well. Others have. So just ignore my comment if it bothers you that much.
Back in the day, they won Duo of the year multiple years in a row. They were untouchable.
If you love Brooks and Dunn then you will definitely love Alabama, please please please do a reaction to Feels So Right!!!!
He'll also like Diamond Rio, Little Texas, and Restless Heart because of their bangers!
Chris LeDoux was a cowboy country singer from Colorado
Alabama would be so great. I'm In a Hurry and Don't Know Why, Roll On (Eighteen Wheeler), If You're Gonna Play in Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band), Song of the South, High Cotton, Angels Among Us
This is a cover. I absolutely LOOOOOVE Brooks and Dunn, but B W Stevenson was the original singer and his version is GREAT also!!!!!!
When Brooks & Dunn came out with their version, it had been about a decade since the original, and I kept thinking, "I know I've heard this song before, but when & by whom?" The original wasn't played much by then & I was little when it came out in early 70s, but that tune was still very familiar. I just recently learned that B. W. Stephenson also wrote "Shambala," which was later made a hit by Three Dog Night. I also just learned Stephenson was a Texan like myself. Small world. Both versions are wonderful.
Like you, I loved this song in the 70s, and I was so happy when one of my favorite duos recorded it.
@rebeccacurtis6680 haha try closer to 25 years after. The original was 1973, Brooks & Dunn was 1997. It is a great song, and I love both versions.
BW "buckwheat" Stevenson played alot in Austin in the early 70's
They definitely did Stevenson's memory justice with this version.
You kill me! "i didn't know they liked to dip their taquittos in the salsa!" 🌮😜
You and your wife need to learn how to Texas two-step. This is the best song ever to dance to. Whenever he starts going up with that high voice, you are just spinning, spinning, spinning your wife. It’s awesome. You should try it, for sure!🔥🔥🔥
Yes! It’s so fun! They would love it! 🥰
Kix brooks owns some of the best if not the best cutting and reigning quarterhorses in the US and possibly the world! Just a little fact!
never knew that
Kix also owns Arrington Winery in Tennessee.
Who knew?! Thanks for the info. 😊
Oklahomans have commanded the stage with amazing performances over the years including, Ronnie Dunn, Vince Gill, Toby Keith, Blake Shelton, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood, Joe Diffie, Woody Guthrie, Roy Clark, Gene Autry, Roger Miller, Bob Willis, and Kristen Chenoweth, just to name a few!
***80+ AWARDS*** As of 2024, country music duo Brooks & Dunn has won more than 80 awards, including:

There's today's history lesson kiddos.
THE HALL & OATES OF COUNTRY
Saluting your excellent knowledge and Brooks n Dunne of course!
It always comes back to Kix Brooks...the showman...Ronnie Dunn the vocalist!!!
That being said, make NO mistake, Kix Brooks can also sing. I'll keep the personal story to myself, but if you go to a concert, you'll hear them both. I'd love to see a reaction or two to some of the songs with Kix on the lead vocals.
As a clearly patriotic fella who loves your country you should listen to only in America by them. It’s another one of their great works. Their catalog is deep and worth the dive in.
I love when he hits that high "Mariiiiia!"
BP is finding out that 90's country has the feel of 80's rock/pop nearly everything is pretty damn good and they are all becoming classics!
B.W. Stevenson actually released this song in 1973. It was a classic then. :}
Now you need to listen to this......Austin Brown & Tim Foust sing "My Maria" in the Backyard ... Austin and Tim are from Home Free. This is an amazing version!
Yes! Yes! Yes!
23 yrs after the original release by B.W. and although very well covered, the original is always the best !!
Oh now we don't only get reactions, comedy, but dancing ..OK 👍😁
Brooks and Dunn dominated the country music scene for more than 20 years. They won 2 Grammys, Nineteen CMA awards and THIRTY ACM awards!!! They are still touring and are playing near me this summer.
Rock my world little country girl 🎶
This a great one too 😊
Yes, love that song..
I'm gonna let her fly with Ronnie Dunn and Jennifer Neddles. 2 of the best voices EVER!!!!
I always love getting to see Kix Brook's horsemanship and being the leading man in this video with Ronnie Dunn's lead vocals and Kix harmony‼️
You really can't go wrong when listening to them
I love it when you get excited about a song. You my man are a delight.
Tim Faust and Austin Brown sang this. Both are from the Home Free. Tim, who is the bass, has a 5 octive range sings the high part.
Tim ~Foust~. It can be found on Austin Brown's channel. It's not a capella, but it's a fun version to check out, especially since Tim is a natural super bass and is singing high tenor while Austin, a high tenor, is singing the low tenor.
Now you know why we all love it. The voice control is extraordinary!
Brooks and Dunn have won 30 ACM awards out of 73 nominations since 1991 best duo ever!
My mom’s favorite, I miss her so much. Brought back my mom belting this to the radio in the car! ❤️
Ive noticed you havent played a song sang by kicks brooks yet. {Your gonna miss me when im gone} is a awesome song and kicks sings it.
Brooks and Dunn are absolutely the best duo ever!!!
Everyone needs a MARIA IN THEIR LIVES........great reaction dude loved it.....
Lol. I agree 😂😂. Love, A Maria
"My Maria" is a song co-written by B. W. Stevenson and Daniel Moore. - 1973, reached Number 1 in the pop charts, Brooks & Dunn won a Grammy for their cover. It was #1 in the Country Charts
B.W. Stevenson was the first to release it to the public.
*Red Dirt Road* ....another great one by Brooks N Dunn. ..you will Love this one as well
I wonder have you heard of Martina McBride?? Another incredible powerhouse voice in country. Quite possibly the best, arguably. She has a few songs like Broken Wing, Independence Day, and I’m Gonna Love You Through It. I think you would absolutely freak out over her voice
Brooks and Dunn is soooo great!! Nothing bad 😊
Love this version, B.W. Stevensong was the original artist way back in '73 but Brooks and Dunn took it to another level. There's also another great cover by a couple of the fellas from Home Free (you reacted to their hit "Man of Constant Sorrow), singing in their back yard.
This was absolutely one of the most melodic songs I have ever heard. You were a blast to watch, so fun!!!!!!!!!!!! Ronnie Dunn's voice is amazing!!!!!! It was nothing bad as to why they split. They were just tired after so many years and both wanted to do some solo work. They did get back together at the urging of the record label and so they were back on. So nothing bad happened!!!!!!
One of my favorites from Brooks and Dunn!!
I haven't heard that song in such a long time. Thank you sir, I needed that!
70’s/80’s rock n roll and 90’s/00’s country kicked a**… 💥💥
U have to laugh or u will cry.
Every award show in the 90s..best duo ... Brooks and Dunn or the Judds.
Country is awesome
Love this song, thank you! Yes Toby Keith- as good as I once was, please ❤ your gonna love it. Great video too
I love this song. Another good country song that tells a story about seff rightous gossipers in a small is Harper Valley PTA by Jeanie C. Riley.
Omg. I love that song!
I would love to see this!
Hey hey hey you definitely need to watch the Toby Keith As good as I once was video! He was a great musician who recently just passed away! Such a fun video and great song!
Yes! Toby was an awesome writer and entertainer. RIP TK!
I'm actually quite jealous of you P...
I wish I could hear all these bangers for the first time again 😊
Cut throat game I guess. I've lived these tunes for years or decades BUT you get to hear them for the first time and I don't anymore.
My husband still sings this too me ❤ Love this!
Dude, you're gonna LOVE "Rock My World (Little Country Girl)".
And you've just gotta check out "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk", by Trace Adkins.
Lastly, you're gonna be blown away by "Ain't Goin' Down 'Til the Sin Comes Up" and "The Fever", by Garth Brooks. Both are serious uptempo bangers, that sound like Garth's straight-up rapping.
oh you have made my day today with all your reactions !!! ♥♥🔥🔥🔥🔥 and yes Brooks & Dunn are sooooo good
I start my days with him...sometimes a cup of coffee ends up six hours because YT wants to show me more reactions...I should really be cleaning house by now at 11:21 am...I started this cup of coffee at 9am and have re-microwaved it twice. :)
@@ConspiracySmurf OMG that sounds exactly like what I do !!! hahahahaaa and it may be noon and I am still with coffee and not dressed 😅
There sooo man great songs by Brooks and Dunn. Lost and Found in a border town, rock my world (little counrty gir), Only in Americas, She's not the cheating kind, Play something country, Hillbilly Deluxe, Ain't nothing about you, etc etc.
Toby Keith "As Good As I Once Was" is great & shows his famous sense of humor. Please also do "Wayman's Song" that he wrote for his friend, basketball great & jazz artist, Wayman Tisdale. It's just so beautiful.
Agree!
I loved the first time I saw them in concert! We were all dancing to this at the concert!!!
Love Brooks and Dunn!! They’re so good live too! My personal favorite after all of these bangers is Ain’t Nothing About You. Ronnie’s grit and growl when he sings is so good.
Ricky Van Shelton sings like an angel just like this guy on Brooks and Dunn! Every sone Brooks and Dun have done has been fire!
Getting so turnt that you had to pull out the strap to dance more comfortable, made this the best reaction video of all time.😂😂
I love this song too! Thanks for playing this song!
If you want to here someone hold a note with amazing breath control. You have to check out Linda Ronstadt singing La Charredea and La Cigarra . Oh my gosh, it is unbelievable
They can still sell out the hugest of concerts!!!! Love everything Ronnie Dunn does❤❤ kit Brooks has style too❤greatest hits!!
Fellow co springsian (?) here, Brooks and Dunns Red Dirt Road is still one of my favorites too. And a few years ago they did a “reboot” of some of their hits. His version with Cody Johnson is worth a listen too
Amazing singing try "When I Called Your Name", Vince Gill with Patty Loveless on harmony vocals. Magic! Need to do the studio version. There's not a live version with good audio or sound on You Tube.
"El Paso" by Marty Robbins. Huge crossover hit from 1959. Studio version. Cowboy in love with a mexican girl.
Unfortunately, "El Paso" is one heck of a depressing song. Marty Robbins does a fabulous job - you "feel" the lyrics. But man, oh man, there are no "My Maria" happy-dance vibes with that song...Whoa...
There's a followup from Felinas side, equally depressing.
@@rubyslippers8215 True
When a song hits your soul so hard, you have to lay down the heater. You know it's legit.
"You'd better hope my wife doesn't find it and be like 'Who's Maria...'" Like we all didn't just hear her say "I haven't heard this in a long time" in the background! 😂😂😂
Still waiting on Coward of the County by Kenny Rogers. Also you should really check out Watching You by Rodney Atkins. As a dad to young children you will love that song.
I love that Kix is riding that horse and doing amazing background vocals here..We all know Ronnie's amazing voice.. Don't ever forget ... It's Brooks and Dunn.. it's not just Ronnie Dunn.. Kix 's Brooks is great too
M y absolute FAV Brooks & Dunn video - he is such a great vocalist!!!! His control!!!
You make me laugh so hard! I love seeing you young guns discovering what some of us oldies have known for a long time -- BROOKS AND DUNN are one of the best duo's E V E R! I love how they use the drums and bass so heavily in their music. Good good dance music and their songs get stuck in your head. I've seen you react to them a few times.. YOU LIKE THEM!! LOL. Thanks for the reaction!
I loved being twirled around the dance floor doing the 2 step in my younger years… still wouldn’t mind going for a twirl today when I hear this song again.
Ive loved Brooks and Dunn since they hit big in the 90's. They put out some amazing music
A sad but wonderful slower song by them. - She Used To Be Mine.
I know what you mean about wanting to dance. This song just MAKES you wanna move, and sing along! Awesome song; great reaction. BTW - Good music knows no genre. Listen to what makes you feel something.
Probably my favorite Brooks & Dunn song. I also like Lost and Found among others lol
That's probably my favorite one!
Awesome group, one of my favorite songs of their songs
I've seen you get into a song before, but I've never seen you boogie down like this 😅
Love this
BP! I've never seen you get into a groove like this before! Just really made me smile! Almost sounded like a Roy Orbison tune!
Definitely one of my favorite country artists. I own every album and have seen them multiple times, a couple of times with Reba. They have some great duets.
You're hilarious. Truly, though, it's great seeing you discover a song that lights up your day.
The power of music!
Alabama (EVERYTHING), Reba (The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia, Fancy), and Sawyer Brown (Daddy's Money) Some of my favorite 90s country.
This is hands down my favourite reaction of yours! You had me grinning from ear to ear. Love Brooks and Dunn. Thanks for sharing.
I love Brooks and Dunn. A couple members of Home Free did a cover of this. Tim Foust and Austin Brown did a fantastic job. Tim is the bass of the group but sings the high part in this. He has a 5 octave range. Really good song
Yup my Maria. Love love this song
You need to listen to Journey Wheels in the Sky live from Huston 1981. Awsome!!!
That Toby Keith video you saw at the end is a good one! As Good as I once was
Yes!!!
Sweet you listening it’s a great song 🎵
Best concert i ever went to was brooks and dunn..When I was 12 I was into green day,(and beastie boys) the album "dookie" just came out and I had no patience for country music, but we were at the state fair and my mom and sister wanted to go.. hands down the most fun concert I've been to
I'm just seeing this today.... it's my husband and my 25th Wedding Anniversary.. He always sings this to me when we hear it.. my full first name is Dana- Marie. He changes the words to songs.. get the jist❤❤❤❤❤❤
My band played this song almost every gig we did and I always felt bad for our keyboard player who had to sing it. Dont get me wrong, he Killed it but its So vocally challenging. And the back up vocals aint no joke either 😂. Anything we'd play from Brooks and Dunn would Always Kill!!! Great band!!
I love how you were gettin all jiggy with it. Made me smile how much you liked the song
Here’s one for the playlist that is absolute FIRE: “Play Something Country”! Bruh, you ain’t NEVER gonna forget it!
I always listened to rock in the eighties, when my sister and I got horses our friends from the horse biarding place always tried to get us to go to "RowdyvCowboy Night" in the early nineties and finally we went. Well, after that we went almostvevery week aftwr that for a few years. Back then, a lot of the country had kind of a rock beat to it, which I prefer to this day!
This was the song I listened to every day on my way to work for almost a year.
I hope you get to read this, I live through your antics, but the sexy dancing to My Maria was awesome. I am bed-ridden from MS, but you had me dancing, at least in my mind you did. I love it when you get a great song and let loose. Thank You!
one of my all time favorites. My daughters name is Victoria and I used to sing this to here all the time using her name LOL LOL :)
Saw Brooks and Dunn in Las Vegas and the concert was awesome! Can’t go wrong with any song. Gail
Robert you are cracking me up, Diggin it,
Loved this song when B.W Stevenson did it in 1973! Loved this killer cover by Brooks & Dunn released in 1996, too!
Saw them in concert! Soooo much fun! Just a great group all around!
One of the greatest Duo's !!! Hands-down. You should listen to Austin Brown and Tim Foust of HOME FREE cover of My Maria. You'll be shocked and love it I'm sure ❤
10:35 there is no side…..it’s all music…the universal language. Toby Keith as good as I once was is great!
Yes! Toby Keith has so many great hits. And his humor is awesome too!
