    She did the original song for the movie "Con Air" with Nicholas Cage. She was only 14 years old. The powers that be did not believe that such a powerful song would do well being sung by a 14 yr. old. So, they had Trisha Yearwood release it.

    • @janflewelling6277
      @janflewelling6277 5 месяцев назад +38

      Correction - LeAnne did the original recording, Trisha did the Con Air movie version when the movie execs deemed Rime's rendition too young sounding - they wanted a more grown up emotional sound. That's when Trisha was tapped. Both versions were highly successful even though fans kind of divided on their own favorites. Have to say, even tho I do love LeAnne, Trisha did it better IMO.

    Leann was 14 years-old when she recorded the song in March of 1997, she had signed (or should we say her father signed) a 3 song deal with Disney/Touchstone pictures. Diane Warren wrote the song with Leann in mind, and she recorded it; it was to be for the Movie Con Air. The movie's producer didn't like the recording he said "it sounded like she was singing to her teddy bear", he wanted her to re-record the song. Her father apparently refused. Trisha Yearwood was brought in to record a new version. Both songs were released same day in May, Rimes version took off on the pop charts, set many records ...most weeks in the top 40 (69), top 10 (32) top 5 (25), it did not make it to #1, because of the untimely death of Princess Diana and Elton John's tribute song (proceeds going to Diana's charities), which kept it out of the top spot. It is the #6 song , all-time on the Billboard top 100 songs of all time, the only song in the top 10 songs that didn't peak at #1.

    This song was one of the only songs to have two versions on the Billboard chats at the same time. Both LeAnn and Trisha Yearwood recorded and released a version of How Do I Live around the same time. Trisha's version was used for the Con Air movie soundtrack. The song also created waves for its difficulty to sing. The high note in the chorus is one that very few singers can hit.

    One of the most beautiful voices in music. I don't know who the hell propagated the myth she went the way of cardi b. Yeah she got older and dressed a little differently but still way more modest than most other singers. At worst she wore evening gowns to award ceremonies and the occasional bathing suit, a regular one not a thong. I wish she had but she stuck to her principles. No this is her song. The treatment is indicative of the sexism and misogyny in the Country Music Industry. Blake Shelton has cheated while married and divorced and married two of his mistresses...Miranda Lambert & Gwen Stefanie with little to no backlash. Jason Aldean cheated on his wife and later married his mistress. Garth Brooks admitted at least one affair before Trisha when he was married to his first wife. I find his & Trisha's timing suspect also. George Jones had many affairs while married to multiple wives including Tammy Wynette who was his mistress and later his wife whom he he cheated on. In fact George and Tammy only escaped bigomy charges by retroactively have her previous marriage annualed. So for men it's adds to the persona...but for women they are slut shamed.

    The reason there is a country twang to this song is that LeAnn used to sing sounding just like Patsy Cline. Her father had control of what she did - there was a whole long very public court battle with her trying to break the contract, which she signed as a young child.

    "How Do I Live" is a song written by Diane Warren. It was originally performed by American singer and actress LeAnn Rimes and was the first single from her second studio album, You Light Up My Life: Inspirational Songs (1997). A second version was performed by American singer Trisha Yearwood, which was featured in the film Con Air. Both versions were released to radio on May 23, 1997.
    In the US, Rimes's version peaked at No. 2 for five non-consecutive weeks in late 1997 and early 1998.

      She had an affair while married. Left her husband for the guy.Her innocence was questioned at that time it seems. That s the only controversy that seemed to separate her from a regular career I d guess.

    Look up on RUclips her singing Hallelujah. It is just her and a guy playing the piano but is literally the BEST version of that song I have heard! So worth a listen because YES she can sing! Also there is a video of her singing Amazing Grace no music at all and just amazing!

    I never really dove into her catalog, but she has an incredible voice! One way ticket is really the only other song I'm familiar with by her....If u have ever seen the movie Con Air, that's probably where u have heard this song but that version was done by Trisha Yearwood who is Garth Brook's wife....She has amazing songs too, and u should check her out as well!

    Someone else already said this song was written for the movie con air. It was about a man and a woman who loved each other very much and then protecting his pregnant wife and ended up killing the assailant and was sent to prison, and the song is supposed to describe what his wife was feeling when he was sent away.

    Written by Diane Warren “How Do I Live” was originally recorded by LeAnn Rimes, but a version was also recorded for the Con Air movie soundtrack by Trisha Yearwood in the same year, culminating with both LeAnn and Trisha’s version being nominated for the Female Country Vocal Performance Grammy in 1998. Trisha won the Grammy !! Obviously, both artists benefited greatly from this song but how crazy that a song competed against itself for a Grammy??

      Diane Warren was the biggest winner because she got paid from both versions !!

      Michael Bolton sang the song How am I Supposed to Live Without You. Different than this song How Do I Live. But still a good song by Michael.
