I cry every time I hear her sing this and can't think of another voice that can deliver it better. It’s not all the hard work he did as a provider, being a fantastic husband, father and grandfather it’s all about being His son. You always think you have time in your life for it later… until you don’t. I will lose my husband who I have been with for 30 years soon but I will see him in Heaven. ❤

His live versions of this song are amazing as well as his recording of Peace in the Valley. Carrie Underwood is a mega talent and absolutely nails this!

But I also have to throw out a recommendation for Vince Gill's "Go Rest High On That Mountain." It has always been a tear-jerker for me. He took a harmony role here, but he's got a lovely voice of his own.
When she was on American Idol I voted for her 24 times!! She was a star on that show and very much so today.
