I always love when a performer 'colors inside the lines' for a good portion of the song, but then changes gears and says 'alright, let's go' and puts the pedal down. She did that here and we're all better for it.
Just wish she would stop promoting, what God said is an Abomination. We have alot of Christians today, straddling the fence, between good and evil. They refuse to come down off of that fence, and try to live in both worlds. We all need to pick which side we want to be on, and go all in on that decision.
Carrie is a Christian and doesn't hide her faith. When Vince was playing his solo she was facing Vince, she waa starting to cry. The spirit of God took over she didn't remember finishing the song. She's one of the best vocalist on the planet. Her voice is phenomenal and powerful.
True story. I strayed from the Church and my beliefs. Then one day I came across this video and just burst into tears. How I had missed the Lord and he reminded me that day he missed me too.
On an interview given about this performance, Carrue stated that she was filled with the spirit, she did NOT remember until the end when people were on their feet and clapping. She truly sang a masterpiece dedicated to our God...
The Almighty placed his Loving hands on Vince Gill's fingers and made that guitar cry. Then transcended through Carrie's voice lifting everyone to their feet in the the middle of the performance...When you can feel the Holy Spirit in that house when you weren't even there, that's powerful. A'ho to that!!🙏 Brings me to tears every time and never gets old
Every time I hear this song on the radio it gives me chills. This song was my grandmother's favorite hymn. I see her smiling face when I hear Carrie sing it As for Vince, he is a fabulous, gifted singer (and guitar player). To respond to your statement 'how just a regular solo can be so heartfelt'.. as a fellow Christian, I sincerely believe it was God who put these 2 great artists together. You can see and feel his putting his whole heart and soul into his solo in which makes one REALLY FEEL his music ❤
You said you’re embarrassed? That’s the best rendition of that song I’ve ever heard. It’s that brought tears to your eyes. You should be proud and praise God.
Vince Gill " Go rest high on that moutain" He wrote it for his brother when his brother passed away. My familyalso played this song for my father at his funeral. Its a great song
He started writing it when Keith Whitley, hence the Keith Whitley song reference in the first verse. Then he finished it a few years later after his brother passed.
I'm sorry for your loss. It was also played at my father's funeral. I still can't get through it without bawling my eyes out. This year will make 16 since his passing. 😥
His guitar was singing, Carrie was sanging and never feel embarassed for music moving you, that is what it is meant to do. Amazing, her voice, her power, she will always move you.
You seriously need to listen to more Vince Gill. He is the total package. Songwriter, beautiful vocals and one of the best guitar players of all time. I love him I feel everything he feels when I hear him sing or play. One of a kind.
Carrie and Vince’s rendition has moved me since the first time I heard it. I cry every single time. I couldn’t stop myself from crying, even if I’d try. She sang for God, not the audience and it can be felt. My grandpa, a Pastor and lifelong follower of Christ just passed a few days ago. This was among the songs we played for him during his final hours on Earth.
That was the Country Music Academy (CMA) awards show. The audience was EVERYONE who is anyone in country music. To get that sort of response from the very top performers of your craft must have been something very special to Carrie and Vince.
Don't be embarrassed. It's a magical thing when music is so beautiful that it reaches the core of your heart and touches your soul. Never wish that away.
Augh! Do NOT be embarrassed! It is a moving song and Carrie and Vince did it perfectly. Carrie has a whole album of old fashioned gospel hymns that's stunning.
I wouldn’t even need to see Vince Gill, to know it was him playing guitar. He’s so gifted. I grew up singing this hym in church…this was phenomenal and made me emotional 🙏🙏
Seb - Vince Gill has 22 Grammy's. He is known as one of the best guitarists out there. On top of that, he is a singer and songwriter extraordinaire. He was a member of Pure Prairie League before going out on his own and right now, he is performing with the Eagles for fun. Thank you for your reactions!
How do you not know Vince Gill? He’s a living legend. One of country musics greatest. Also a world renowned guitarist. And finally one of the nicest guys in Nashville. Many many many awards from Grammys to ACMs and CMA’s. Look him up. I enjoy your channel. :-)
No need to be embarrassed. I have seen this video a dozen times and she makes be ball every time. Carrie Underwood may be the best of all time and seeing her do this song is a very deeply moving experience. Vince gill is a true star on his own as a singer and guitar picker. Great to c u react the same way I do and thanks for not stopping the song to react like so many other reactors do.
Don't be embarrassed young man. I teared up right along with you. When their God given talent was used to honor our Father, it should touch our hearts. Your Honesty makes you a fun reactor to watch. God Bless
Praise and Worship at its finest! I’ve listened to this hundreds of times, I still have tears half way through it. How Great Thou Art? How Great They Art???
Two of the greatest artists of all time!! He has gone into Bluegrass and that is pretty much where he performs now. That to me is one of the most powerful Hymns of all times and the Way that they perform it is almost beyond belief.. I love it so much.. I don't think you could listen and not be moved!!!!
I grew up singing southern gospel with my family and my daddy would sing this and it gets me every time I hear it. I'm almost 53 years old and this one still brings me to my knees.
So, I am not religious, but I’ve listened to her sing this on many recordings and have even watched her perform this live… it’s magic every time. Her voice takes you to another world, she’s incredible
Vince Gill is also touring with The Eagles in 2023. His song “When I Call Your Name” is absolutely beautiful among so many other hits he’s had. Definitely worth a dive into his catalog.
Every time I went to my Dad’s before he passed, we watched this. We played it at his funeral. There is no need to be embarrassed when music touches your soul. 🤗 my dad said, “that’s not singing, that’s worship!”
The reason this is so emotional is because Carrie sings from a heart of faith in what she is singing. Never be embarressed when you are genuinely touched by something that you find beautiful. I would be more bothered if you didn't react. Love your reactions!
Vince Gill = Legend Carrie Underwood = Legend Hard to go wrong! I’ve always sworn you can literally see the Spirit move right through her here. Stunning. As always- great reaction; appreciate you! Stay safe & love much💖
It's okay man just sit back and listen to it and enjoy she has one of the most amazing female voices of her time I'm 56 years old hear her sing this I tear r up as well
Carrie is incomparable & so Vince Gill. He has an amazing voice himself. And the beauty of country music stars is that they support each other like no other genre. They sit in the audience at awards shows & sing along with every song performed. They jump up & do group stuff together at a moment's notice & they do duets with each other all the time. County folks are patriotic & loving and loyal to each other, to God & to country.
I’ve seen Carrie perform this in person, and when I tell you I SOBBED. I love that she’s not ashamed to use her gift from God for His glory. And oh man, what a gift it is.
Don't worry we all bawl when we watch it!! : ) I love that they share God's gift with all of us. Most amazing performance ~ my favorite of all time! Love your RUclips! Thank you!
I have watched this video and reactions a good couple hundred times and I still get chills and tears up. Every single time. She literally has a voice of a Angel. Vince is just amazing. He also has been lead with the Eagles last couple years.
Vince Gill is an amazing guitar player! Everyone always mention his song Go Rest High on the Mountain, but his songs from the 90's are absolute gold. Whenever I Call Your Name is perfect, seriously Look At Us and I Still Believe in You are two of the most beautiful love songs, and testaments to love.
My reaction is the same as yours every time I hear this song, a I could still listen to it over and over! I grew up singing this song in Church, and I still react to it the same way every time. ❤
Talk about being taken to church. There will never be anyone to do this piece better than these two. To get a standing O with a minute left, says how great this performance was. My eyes start sweating any time I hear this.
Carrie a few years later did "Softly and tenderly" for the In Memoriam section for the CMA's. That is super powerful too. A year or so ago, she released a full album of her doing hymns. Check that out.
I came back to this every couple of days. It feels like a God hug. The right song, perfect reaction and shared with others. I’ll be back! God is so merciful! Thanks, Stew Hornsby!
Seb, ever since I came across your channel, I have been waiting for you to react to this . I knew your action would be so genuine because of your love for our Savior. If people don't get in their feels when they hear this, they need to pray a little harder. This is nothing unusual for country artist to have gospel songs in their song list. This, to me, is one of the greatest performances ever! I get chills ever time I hear it! Carrie also delivers an amazing performance with the hymn “Softly and Tenderly” at the 51st CMA awards for their ‘ In Memoriam’ segment.
I can't watch this without tearing up. I played it for my good friend right before they took him off life support. I had heard that hearing is one of the last senses to leave and he loved this song so much!
Two things:
If that song doesn't move your heart, check your pulse.
Every solo you hear from Vince Gill will be the 'best guitar solo' you ever heard.
...every single time!!!
I always love when a performer 'colors inside the lines' for a good portion of the song, but then changes gears and says 'alright, let's go' and puts the pedal down. She did that here and we're all better for it.
Holy Spirit was in the house 💜👑💜
Carrie said that she felt the Holy Spirit take over.
God Is So Good 👑
A--MEN ✝️
I cry every time I listen to this beautiful performance!!
She sang that song to her savior not the audience. That's why it was so powerful
💯
Amen
Amen

Exactly. Same happened to me.
Amen and amen ❤🙏
Beautiful story
I was in the audience for this performance. And let me tell you Carry and Vince took us all to church with this performance. We were on our feet
I watched this the night they sang this,I was in tears.
Never be embarrassed about the power of God. No matter how many times I hear this song, I cry. So beautiful.
Amen!

Carrie’s voice lifts me up
Vince and Carrie just took 'em to church! You cannot stay in your seat when a performance like that unfolds before your eyes.
Yeah. Well said.
She wasn't just singing, she was WORSHIPPING!
The holy spirit was coming through Carrie during this performance for every witness there to feel.
Truth ...
Vince is so good. Watch him sing “Go Rest High on that Mountain” live at George Jones funeral. It’s a tear jerker and he has another awesome solo
Yes Go rest high was written by Vince for his brother that passed away and has since be played at nourmous funerals since.
Should watch the full version first. Starting with that misd alot cuz hes too emotionsl to sing it
Man, I can’t get through that without balling.
A must see. Raw, emotional, and embodied the day.
That's the best.
On an interview given about this performance, Carrue stated that she was filled with the spirit, she did NOT remember until the end when people were on their feet and clapping.
She truly sang a masterpiece dedicated to our God...
Carrie’s voice is a gift from heaven
It really is
Agreed
Because God is truly the 😮 greatest of the greatest! You know who he work’s through and she is it!!! Carrie and Elvis…. Hot dang🥰
I have absolutely loved her since her American idol audition❤
God bless boths Carrie n Vince and God bless all of us. Amen!

This is my favorite performance by Carrie Underwood. Absolutely amazing!
I'm a 71 year old man, and every time I listen to this is makes me tear up and weep. Most powerful rendition of this great hymn I have ever heard!
Agreed
You said you’re embarrassed? That’s the best rendition of that song I’ve ever heard. It’s that brought tears to your eyes. You should be proud and praise God.
When the artist honors GOD there is just perfection in the air. Thank you for reacting
Every single artist that Vince Gill dueted with had that song go in the top #10 if not #1. He is a beautifully talented song master.
Never be embarrassed about the feeling of the spirit washing over you. If only all could feel it flow.
Don't be embarrassed by showing your emotions. I shed a tear every time i hear this song.
Same here.
Amen❤️🙏❤️
AMEN TO THAT EMOTION IS THE GIFT OF GODS WORDS
Vince Gill " Go rest high on that moutain" He wrote it for his brother when his brother passed away. My familyalso played this song for my father at his funeral. Its a great song

@@Gutslinger Yes you are right
I'm sorry for your loss. It was also played at my father's funeral. I still can't get through it without bawling my eyes out. This year will make 16 since his passing. 😥
Vince went in there to honor these ladies of Country Music, and Carry felt humbled and let loose to Prais God in his Glory.
“Haha, I don’t know why I’m laughing!”
That would be your soul flooding with the joy of the Lord my brother. ❤
Vince Gill is the master of what I call the high lonesome sound, between his guitar and voice he brings an emotion into focus that is incomparable.
Vince has a talent to bring you to tears with his voice AND his strings. Amazing talent
You can only cry and smile when hearing the power and sincerity in her voice while singing about the greatness of God
Faith is a big part of country music, just one more reason to love it. Such a beautiful song
Carrie and Vince’s rendition has moved me since the first time I heard it. I cry every single time. I couldn’t stop myself from crying, even if I’d try. She sang for God, not the audience and it can be felt.

Vince Gill is a hell of guitar player.
A master guitar player ❤
Go rest high on that mountain. Vince's voice will soothe a soul in one note❤️❤️
Absolutely beautiful!
All I can say is WOW, just WOW. Between Carrie’s voice and Vince’s guitar solo, I’m sure the Lord had a tear in eye.
Don’t be embarrassed, her version of this hymn makes us emotional….she nailed it, flawlessly
Don't be embarrassed that song and her singing so very powerful Vince and Carrie did a beautiful rendition.
That is the best rendition of how great thou Art of all time
Don't be embarrassed. It's a magical thing when music is so beautiful that it reaches the core of your heart and touches your soul. Never wish that away.
Not just a standing ovation for her, they are also praising GOD!
I have said time after time that IS the absolute best vocal ever and it moves people because you know she believes what she is singing!
Elvis would sing How great thou art at every concert. It was like one of his signature songs at his concerts. She killed it!!!
By far the best talent American Idol ever produced. She actually has a whole gospel album and it's incredible
Almost everyone who reviews this performance is brought to tears. Nothing to be embarrassed about.
Augh! Do NOT be embarrassed! It is a moving song and Carrie and Vince did it perfectly. Carrie has a whole album of old fashioned gospel hymns that's stunning.
I came here to say the same thing!
Not only do they have extreme talent, their Praise of God is what makes this video so good.
I will never be ashamed of my faith, I get emotional every time I hear this!

It's not beauty making people emotional, it's honesty coming straight from the heart. This performence is just that. Simple, honest and believed.
I can't watch this without tearing up. I played it for my good friend right before they took him off life support. I had heard that hearing is one of the last senses to leave and he loved this song so much!
Oh, man. And now the tears just started again. Bless you.
