When an audience of country music superstars jumps up with a standing ovation long before the song is finished, you know you have witnessed something really special.
I was going to comment the same thing! When you get a standing ovation BEFORE the song is even finished, you know you're doing something right!! And Britt, YOUR REACTIONS ARE MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!! I love all the commentary and facial expressions you give us!! You really are a joy to watch!! ❤
At around 6:55 Carrie pats her heart indicating that she's feeling the song and it seems to be a call to the audience to join her in the moment she's feeling. The audience meets her energy with the early standing ovation making it a lovely collective experience. I think these intimate audiences are aware of these signals to one another and happy to bring their joy and support to the moment and become a part of it. ❤
HOMEWORK!'THE JUDDS " BLAKE SHELTON IS NOT IMPORTANT TO YOUR REVIEW HERE NOW MARRIED TO GWEN STEFANI----- judging on THE VOICE. SHELTON NO LONGER JUDGES THERE. NOV 2023
I read someone say “she’s singing like she just got to heaven.” That sticks with me. Regardless of anyone beliefs, her voice is undeniable. She is truly anointed. She grew up in the church, so she learned to use her instrument for praising The Lord before she learned to perform, and it was on full display in that performance. Just beautiful. I tear up every time I hear it.
One of THE best live performances ever. To have all of your peers captivated like that is tremendous. Carrie took them to CHURCH with this performance.
You should listen to Vince Gill "Go rest high on that mountain" he started writing it for Keith Whitley when he passed and then finished it after his brother passed.. Its a great song, was played for my pops also when he passed..
My 53 year old retired Army Veteran husband died unexpectedly on Valentines two years ago and he loved that song! Go rest high on that mountain! I cry every time I watch Vince Gill sing it… and whenever I hear it! I went through to wake him from his nap 😴 and he was gone! 💔💔💔
Carrie Underwood's performance of "How Great Thy Are" shall be the one by which all others are measured. Thank you God and thank you Britt for bringing these blessed pipes on to show the world what conviction and a beautiful voice sound like!
Those fiery redheads at the beginning were the mother/daughter duo The Judds, Naomi was the mother, and Wynonna is the daughter. They were one of the best-selling country music singers of the 80's. Can't remember exactly when it was, but at one point in their career, every song of theirs was #1 on the charts. You should DEFINITELY check them out, I suggest starting with Grandpa (Tell Me Bout the Good Old Days)
Just so you know, Vince Gill is a huge star and talent and a wicked virtuoso guitar player. And her voice ? It is interesting to reflect that the audience with that early standing ovation is composed of very seasoned musical success stories themselves and their genuine excitement at this performance is obvious. Musicians cant hide it.
I was waiting for you to be transported when Carrie sang the ending! The two redheads are the mother/daughter duo The Judds. Mom Naomi died last year by suicide as she was suffering from major health issues. Her daughter Wynonna Judd has also a separate singing career along with being part of the duo. Wynonna is a powerhouse with her voice as well. Also, the blonde with Blake is his former wife, Miranda Lambert who is a singer in her own right. They went through a bad breakup and divorce which she wrote about in her hit song Tin Man, which deserves a reaction.
This performance brings me to tears every time I hear it!! And I’ve listened to this a ton!! Vince Gill has a beautiful tenor voice and his skill with the guitar and many other string instruments is legendary!! 🙌🏻❤🙏🏻
In that moment, we all felt her singing in the presence of #GodALMIGHTY and I cry every time, Praise the Lord and God bless #CarrieUnderwood and #VinceGill thumbs up and God bless your reaction Britt! #BrittReacts
This is already a powerful song but the Lord blessed this woman with a voice that is unbeatable This song brings everyone to tears and it should because HOW GREAT OUR LORD AND SAVIOR TRULY IS
The fiery sirens are The Judds. Mother and daughter country legends! Naomi (mom) and daughter (Wynonna). Sadly, we loss Momma Naomi last year. Daughter Wynonna is a Powerhouse! Highly recommend you go down their rabbit hole! The Judds - Love Can Build a Bridge (official video a must)
Now THAT'S a PRAISE. What a way to start my day!!... This is my favorite hymn... My heart & soul is always lifted when I hear her pour our with every bit of love, that last note.. The sun is shining outside... the "SON" is shining in me.. wonderful reaction.. as always PEACE & BLESSINGS 🙏🏻💕👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎶🎤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Carrie is a world class vocalist. In an interview after that performance, Carrie said the Holy Spirit came over her and she doesn't even remember finishing the song! And the man is the incomparable Vince Gill. One of the best guitarists ever - he can make a guitar cry and sing. Vince was a TOP MALE COUNTRY VOCALIST in the 90's and one of the most sought-after backup/background singers in the country because of his gorgeous tenor voice. The two redheads are Wynonna and Naomi Judd of the "The Judds" fame. They are mother daughter (Naomi is mama on the right). Sadly, she died back in April, 2022 by self-inflicted gunshot - very, very tragic (she suffered from depression). The actress, Ashley Judd is her other daughter.
Not only is this one of the most PURE power voice ever... it is close, the control and flow is unmatched. Vince Gill with her and his guitar play is just an exceptional bonus.
Firstly, SLAY! This video is special to me. When my dad was in hospice care and about to pass, with family around him, I played this video and placed my phone near his head. He loved Carrie and Vince. He passed shortly after the song ended. I choose to believe he entered eternity with this song in his ear. Keep up the great reactions.
This song was sung at my dad's celebration of life service about 6 weeks ago. He loved this song and it was his desire to have it sung for him. It was sung by a husband and wife who are both classically trained musicians that lead the music at one of the churches he went to before moving. I absolutely understand your belief. Sorry for the loss, I can totally understand where you are right now.
I can't help but to cry every time I hear this duet! So powerful!! Carrie has such an Angelic voice! She does a rendition of Vince Gill's Go rest high on that Mountain, and it makes Vince cry watching from the audience. One of, if not the most talented female vocalists I have ever heard!
Dont take this wrong, but I Just Love You! ❤😊 Thanks for another fab reaction! The beautiful redheads - The Judds! 😍 Awesome voices, especially Wynona the daughter. (Her sister Ashley Judd is the actress). You'd do yourself a favor to check out Grandpa, Young Love, Turn It Loose, Rockin With The Rythm of The Rain. All are pretty wonderful of their own accord.
Our girl took us right straight to church. Been a fan of Carrie's since she made her first appearance on American Idol. The "fiery redheads" were Naomi (Rest her soul) and Wynona Judd. Yes, Mother and Daughter. Outstanding vocalists in their own right. Thanks Britt!
Yes!! And if you haven't heard her rendition of Go rest high on that Mountain, look it up on RUclips! Watch Vince's reaction as she's singing. She's absolutely amazing!
I have watched/listened to this thousands of times. She is phenomenal. One of the best female vocalists ever (in my opinion). She’ll be singing in Jesus’ choir. 🙏🏽
Carrie Underwood is the reason I quit trying to be a singer as a teenager. I signed up for a talent contest at a fair in Oklahoma and a pretty little blonde girl ended up singing the same LeAnn Rimes song I was gonna do. It was pre-American Idol Carrie Underwood. I just didn’t come when they called my name. I couldn’t compete with that! 😂
Vince Gill’s roots are in Gospel, Bluegrass and Southern Blues. When The Eagles’ front man, Glenn Frey, passed away a few years back, it was Vince Gill’s pure vocals they chose to front the band. I love how he played second fiddle and let Carrie shine!
One thing, beside the music and the words of country songs. They are not ashamed or afraid to sing their praised to the Lord our God and to Jesus. Every country star who had ever stood on a stage from Hank Williams Senior to Carrie Underwood truly put their heart and soul into these songs. It's a real shame that rock stars don't feel they can do the same when they perform. Oh, they will make an album around Christmas time and sometimes Easter. But during their concerts they will not do it ever.
I remembering watching Carrie's audition on Idol and I told my late husband that I predicted she was going to win that season. He laughed and asked how I could know that. We watched every week as she advanced to the finals. My favorite week was when she sang Alone by Heart. When she won, he said, "Well, I guess I know which concerts we will be adding to our lists" I have seen her in concert several times and I am always in awe of the power in her vocals. ❤
I remember on night on Idol, Randy and Paula destroyed her performance and Simon praised it. He also predicted that not only would she win Idol, she would be the highest selling Idol winner of all time.
Ya know, I LOVE this song - always have, no matter who’s singing - but…this, THIS performance??? Far ‘n away my all time favorite performance EVER!! And…thank you for such a wonderfully specific and smashed-outta-the-park Response! New Subscriber now 😎 God Bless!!
The red heads are the Juds. A mother and daughter duo legend. There song love can build a bridge, is so amazing. The gal with Blake is his first wife, country singer Miranda Lambert!!
I love Carrie and don't want take anything away from her. However Vince Gill is a musical talent that needs to be appreciated in his own right. Love this rendition.❤
It looked like Wynona and Naomi Judd.. We lost Naomi last year.. Two music icons with some great songs.. Carrie has an Angelic voice.. Love to hear her sing.. Love your reaction
she has the true beliefs to make this song personal and outstanding...she has the faith it takes to make this song resinate to what she believes...she is singing from the heart and the truth and she fully puts everything she has into her devotion to what she is singing ...thats the difference from those who just sing to make money..she truly believes what she is singing..its refreshing and wonderful
This is great, because when you told me no to my request I first thought of this song, then at the last minutes changed it. So I get them both anyway. Beautiful woman, tremendous voice, and Vince is one of the finest guitar players in the world and singers.
This is the best rendition of this song I’ve ever heard, both Carrie and Vince are talented artists, I never get tired of watching and listening to this performance
The red headed women are the Judd's. They had a very beautiful song called Love Can Build a Bridge. The daughter is named Wynonna and the mother is/was Naomi. The mother unfortunately committed suicide last year (by gun shot to the head). She suffered for many years from depression. The pair, were getting ready to do a another short tour. They had been retired for many years due to Naomi having Hepatitis C. Wynonna, has had a solo career and has done quite well. Wynonna decided after her mother passed away to do the tour as a way to honor her mother.
I tear up. Every single time. Carrie has said she has no memory of the performance after Vince's solo. And I'm sure someone said, but those were The Judds. Naomi, the mom, who passed away either early this year or late last and one of her daughters, Wynona. There is another daughter Ashley. She had an acting career for a bit. Double Jeopardy is a great movie of hers with Tommy Lee Jones.
You are so spot on that her gift is GOD GIVEN what a super singer and Human being & to Boot she Grateful & Humble! You should check out all of her other music, she has a once in a generation Voice.
Absolutely could not wait to see your expression at the end of this song 🎶 BTW your face is as stunning as carries voice. Just found you and def look forward to seeing more of your content
Hey Britt, if you loved this performance, you'll be just as blown away by her performance of Go Rest High on That Mountain. She performed it as a tribute to Vince Gill and brought him (and myself) to tears.
The two redhead powerhouses in front were a mother-daughter band called The Judds, Naomi and Wynonna Judd. The blonde woman with Blake Shelton is his ex-wife Miranda Lambert. I've seen this video (various uploads) since it aired in 2011 on CBS. I love Carrie Underwood and this really put her on the map, so to speak, for me with this performance. Her vocals are raw and astounding in this song. I love live performances versus recorded sonngs because it is just raw and there aren't any autotuning or lipsyncing (watching muscles in throat). The The Chicks (aka Dixie Chicks) are another music act that show their true vocals and musical talent vs the studio version.
If this doesn’t touch a human beings they are not human , I get chills and cry every time I every time I hear How Great Thpu Art by beautiful Carrie Underwood and Mr. Vince Gill ♥️
The women were The Judd's. I think you would really appreciate David Phelps and his God given tenor perfect vocals, any song, people are usually introduced to him thru his green sweater version of "O Holy Night".
This is by far my favorite version of this hymn. I like you have grown up and continue to go to church. I have sang this countless times. Carrie didn’t sing it she straight out performed it from the Holy Spirit to us.
Britt, I knew you could sang! Loving the song and your assessment of it. Country legends together? How wonderful. Glory unto God, in the highest ! ♾🙏👑🙏♾ Listen to Carrie singing “ Something in the Water “, live version. 😊

One of the tastiest guitar solos I've heard in quite a while to go along with the powerhouse goose-bumpy vocals of Ms. Carrie.
I am personally a buddhist but Damn! Carrie can convert the most resolute atheist with that song
I've listened to this a million times and I still get chills every time. The best part is seeing Naomi Judd moved to tears.

The best reaction to the best ever performance of this song.
Chills start to finish, and that steel guitar is pure
The women were The Judd's. I think you would really appreciate David Phelps and his God given tenor perfect vocals, any song, people are usually introduced to him thru his green sweater version of "O Holy Night".
Please listen to David Phelps. He is amazing!
This one brought a tear, a few of them, so absolutely beautiful.
