Ronnie Dunn, the main singer, was in seminary school and he was going to be a preacher. He was also playing country music at the time and he would perform in bars so the school kicked him out because of it. Brooks and Dunn was HUGE in the 90s. They walked away with SO many awards at every awards show they were a part of. You REALLY need to check out their song Believe if you haven't. Also, Red Dirt Road and Hillbilly Deluxe.
I can't endorse Red Dirt Road and Hillbilly Deluxe enough! Also check out their "duet"(?), ..."trio"(?) with Reba called "If You See Him/If You See Her"
'Neon Moon' is absolutely a country classic. Austin Brown of Home Free did a version of 'Neon Moon' also, fyi. He also did a duet with Tim Foust (bass guy from Home Free) of 'My Maria' by Brooks & Dunn, which is absolutely incredible.
Ronnie Dunn sings lead and Kix Brooks is back up. This was from very early in their career. Oh the memories this brings back. Saw them at Coyote Joes Charlotte NC and in concert in Orlando FL
It's Ronnie Dunn, He's the main singer. Regarding their real life personalities, Kix Brooks is actually the wild outspoken crazy one of the two. Ronnie Dunn is more of a quiet laid back easy going type. But man, his singing is so strong and expressive! Next you should do their cover of B.W. S Stevenson's "My Maria" You'll love that one I promise!! Brooks & Dunn have sooooo many great songs! They are indeed country royalty!
He is Ronnie Dunn and he does a cover of Sugarland's Stay in a tribute to Jennifer Nettles. At the time I went through a divorce and him singing that song resonated with me. If you have listened to Stay, it's an emotional song and his tribute to her was amazing. It got me in the feels.
Kix/Ronnie are very close to Reba. They even have a great song together. Them/Reba/Garth/Blake are all from Oklahoma. That’s Ronnie Dunn singing lead (they went in alphabetical order) Even Kix’s says Ronnie has one of the best voices in country music. This was a live CMT set long after this song was made. Brooks/Dunn have a excellent catalog of music and have won TONS of awards. One of the all time best duos ever!
Hey Britt! You had a 50/50 chance, but unfortunately it is Ronnie Dunn who is singing the marvelous lead, and the song is indeed a classic and a hallmark of the beautifully sad that country does so well. In any case, your reactions always brighten up the day.
Ronnie Dunn had an incredible set of vocals, and his range was CRAZY. lol I saw them perform at a night club in Myrtle Beach once. They had the whole place rockin' for sure. 🎶😂 Here's another one of their very famous songs, if interested. "Brooks & Dunn Perform - My Maria / CMT Crossroads" Fun Fact: Brooks & Dunn were entered into the Country Music Hall of Fame at the same time as Ray stevens and Reba McEntire in 2019. This was fun, and I enjoyed chilling with you for min. Britt. Now you have a wonderful day too.
Brooks and Dunn don't make bad music, EVERY song is a winner. One of my personal favourites is Aint Nothing About You. And if you haven't checked out Boot Scootin Boogie (live version is fantastic) and Play Something Country - they are MUST watch videos. Cheers from Canada! :)
I was blessed to see them live in their early days (1995) and this past May (2023 #HoustonRodeo), and although they're a "little" older (aren't we all 😂) they still sound amazing, and Ronnie Dunn still has his gorgeous range and can hold that note! The crowds absolutely know their hits and sing & dance right along. Fabulous showmen.
Crazy thing is, I saw them in concert earlier this year and even though Ronnie Dunn (lead singer) is 70, he still sounds the same. He sang this song the exact same and it sounded as if they had just recorded it. Such an amazing voice!
I will never forget when I was a little girl, my momma said " Honey, I am sorry, but if that man on the TV (talking about Ronnie Dunn, who is the lead singer) ever asked me to runaway with him I would leave you and your daddy in a heartbeat" I hope she was teasing, but I remember back then thinking she might not be, lol. I was like, damn this must be serious bc I know how much she loves me 😂😂
I hope you know that I said that when you were a little girl and now you are in your 40's and I still mean it honey but don't worry Momma will blow you a big kiss as the bus pulls out 😂 Don't forget to write 😘
I remember my oldest son.. now 35. having a bday party at 5.. this song was #1.. We had a line dancing party at a club.. Chris still loves to dance.. and he's an amazing dancer... don't mess with him on the dance floor.. but I love hearing this... Ronnie Dunn's voice is GREAT.
Yes, that is Ronnie Dunn and the other performer is Kiks Brooks. Both of these performers are well known country performers for 30 years. Believe me when i say these are pure country royalty!!!!!!!
My all time favorite Brooks and Dunn song! The lead singer is Ronnie Dunn. They’re still touring and filling the arenas. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting them and their both great guys! It’s a great song to dance to. And usually the audience is singing along
Britt, I always love your heartfelt reactions. Ronnie Dunn was the main singer in this song. Brooks & Dunn are a legendary duo of country music. Ronnie Dunn is the more established vocalist of the two and has done numerous collaborations with other singers. One that I think you should check out is his duet with Leroy Parnell, called "Take These Chains". Leroy Parnell is an accomplished country music singer who plays a MEAN guitar. If you liked this song, I guarantee you will like their duet on "Take These Chains". 👍👍❤❤
Yes it's a classic broken heart song. I lived it for a few years when I was getting divorced. BUT you need to hear the older versions from 20-25 years ago.
I think they won Duo of the year 14 years in a row, skipped a year and then won another... kinda dominated. Yes everyone knows this one in country music. Actually that is Ronnie Dunn. Kix Brooks is a great writer arranger and has a decent enough voice. That last part tho!!!
I remember hearing an interview where the interviewer asked "what is the key to being a great duet act?" One of them replied, "separate busses" They were a product of the industry system, clashed many times artistically, and still had one another's support. Great people above all else.
I LOVE this song. It's one of my all-time favorites. His voice is beautiful. And yes, this is ironic. Typically people who don't listen to country know this song.
This is also a song everybody loves to dance country two-step. But my wife and I loved dancing double time to it. You can spin and twirl to the beat! It's fantastic!
I was in college when this song debuted. Went to country bars with school mates and sang our voices hoarse to songs by Brooks and Dunn, Garth Brooks, and loads of other country artists.
I’ve taken a spin or two around a few honky tonk dance floors with the ladies to this song. Me and my buddies would hit the bars and clubs on a weekend night and sometimes it was country, sometimes it was R&B. You just had to be prepared to drink and dance all night. That was the USMC and my group which we called the family, they called me pops.
Ronnie Dunn, the tall guy went to Abilene Christian University, was kicked out of school for playing music at the Royal Inn Steakhouse…they served alchohol.
Brooks and Dunn is by far one of my favorite duo's ever followed by Montgomery Gentry. One song by Brooks and Dunn you should check out is "Rock My World." that song, Kix Brooks is the main singer. He has a unique voice just like Ronnie Dunn. It is a song that you'll get stuck in your head.
Hello Brit Leon "Kix" Brooks is the dark haired shorter man and Ronnie Dunn is the Blond taller lead singer. Brooks is more of the songwriter and Dunne more of the singer. They have 20 #1 hits on the Hot Country Songs chart and 19 songs on the Top 10. They are known for taking Vocal Duo of the Year at the CMAs for 15 consecutive years between 1992 and 2006. Yes this is one of their Top Classics Songs among: "My Maria" "Boot Scootin' Boogie" "Little Miss Honky Tonk" "She Used to Be Mine!" "You Are Going to Miss Me When I'm Gone" "Believe" "She is Not the Cheating Kind" "Red Dirt Road" They have many more.
Ronnie Dunn imo had one of the best male voices in country music. He's much older now and has done a solo album. Check out the song"I wish I still smoked cigarettes".
Love Brooks & Dunn! But for some reason today I was reminded of the FIRST time they won an award (I guess CMT...or maybe Grammy for best country duo or group???) they thanked The Judds for retiring because they had been losing to them for so many years! I've never seen anyone react to The Judds. Can't figure out why. They are great and I think you would love them. Girl Power with awesome blood harmony.
I used to karaoke this song ALL THE TIME back in the day, I have a very similar voice to this guy. But eventually I had a similar experience to what the song is about. I haven't been able to sing the second verse since without choking up 😑
When he talks about the neon moon, he doesn’t mean the real moon outside he’s talking about the light coming off of the neon signs inside the bar. The song is very nostalgic for me. Love it if you get a chance listen to believe it’s a great song.
I love this song. It is definitely one you can groove to. If you want to hear some real country magic, Brooks and Dunn did a few songs with Reba McEntire. My personal favorite would be If you See Him, If You See Her
This week, Britt, here in the UK, we lost an artist who sung one of the iconic songs of the 90s, released in 1990. Nothing compares to you by Sinead O'Connor......could you do the honour of sharing it with the world, and I'd love to see your reaction if you've not done so before, ❤
He is singing about a bar where his former love use to hang out. She is gone now and sits at that bar waiting for his former love. Could be death or just she left.
Ronnie Dunn, the main singer, was in seminary school and he was going to be a preacher. @terrigaines1812, they are not related
and my two favorites of theirs:
”My Maria” - ruclips.net/video/fZSiBj4vCiY/видео.html
"How Long Gone" - ruclips.net/video/-SLjZQtHrag/видео.html
I can't endorse Red Dirt Road and Hillbilly Deluxe enough! Also check out their "duet"(?), ..."trio"(?) with Reba called "If You See Him/If You See Her"
South of Santa Fe is one their good songs also.
@@mikepetrimoulx933 Who said they were? Or are you just stating random irrelevant facts just for the hell of it?
This is one of their, in my opinion, Top 3 songs. I've loved it since the first time I heard it on the radio back in the 90s.
NOT YOUR OPINION, It's a fact 😅
'Neon Moon' is absolutely a country classic. Austin Brown of Home Free did a version of 'Neon Moon' also, fyi. He also did a duet with Tim Foust (bass guy from Home Free) of 'My Maria' by Brooks & Dunn, which is absolutely incredible.
Austin's version is fantastic. Chris Chatham offers guitar and harmonies and Sebastian the key board. Simply lovely.
Yeah that My Maria duet they did was fantastic!
Austin's performance of this song is one of the most beautiful things ever done.
It's not a classic fool
@@raymondcharles-bo9dk Your mom is a classic. Enjoyed by generations of men. 🖕
Ronnie Dunn sings lead vocals usually. Kix Brooks is in the cowboy hat.
Love to Texas two step to this song. The dance floor gets packed when this song come on.
We did the ElPaso to it too
Ronnie Dunn sings lead and Kix Brooks is back up. This was from very early in their career. Oh the memories this brings back. Saw them at Coyote Joes Charlotte NC and in concert in Orlando FL

Brooks and Dunn are one of the greatest duos on Country Music history. They have a wonderful catalog. I agree Believe should be next.
One of the greatest duos in MUSIC history!
A classic for sure....they have a long list of hits, this would be top three.

B&D with Reba for "Cowgirls Don't Cry" is a great song. (warning label)
Brooks is from Louisiana. Dunn is from Texas and didn’t move to Oklahoma till after college
@@danielparker8189 thanks I remember now. I’m trying to think of who I was thinking of 🤪
@@mellycook Toby Keith, Carrie underwood, Vince gill, woody Guthrie, Mel McDaniel, and Joe diffie are also from Oklahoma
This is one of their most well known, but Boot Scootin’ Boogie is their “signature song”. You’d love it cuz there’s a whole line dance for it!
That's always a classic but nothing gets everyone singing along quite like neon Moon
Nope…this one…. Sad 😢 lonely break up song
These two men were an incredible duo. I think you would really enjoy Believe - it takes you to church.

Ronnie Dunn's voice is like a sip of warm tea and honey, medicine for the soul.
This is Ronnie Dunn singing, He is for most part lead singer .... Kix Brooks, has couple songs to check out 'You're Gonna Miss Me'
The neon moon is the neon lights in the bars. Ronnie Dunn is singing from the perspective of a bar singer.
I don't think he's the singer, just a bar patron.
He is singing from the perspective of a broken heart living in the neon lights which is a bar
I've always pictured him sitting under a Blue Moon neon sign 😂 Neon Moon
No…. Break up song…. Finding solace in a bar
This song is fabulous, this is a just a classic

I will keep it in mind, thanks!
And... the concert at Cains was a bit of a homecoming for Ronnie Dunn who got much of his start in Tulsa

Yes it is classic timeless huge song that played on the airway for a decade and I heard it on the country station in Sacramento CA last week
